Looks like a lot of work but always worth saving another truck Duddie... I agree with the POR15 comments, you wont find a better product in my opinion.. Keep at it my friend...keep cutting till the rust is all gone...Much as I hate body work..I kinda like fabbing the patch sections, so Ill live vicariously through you for a while as you get this old girl all squared away

I'm making slow progress but it's progress none the less. Sounds like POR 15 is the way to go on this job. Sounds like a great product. Ive only used their Gas Tank coating kits. Thanks For Watching!

Sounds like a plan. The only down side I see is cutting to much maybe tweaking the body a bit. I am a noob at this myself so not sure how much the floor pans play into the over all strength of the cab. I do have to do this to my ramcharger here this spring. I think the only thing different I am going to do different is to level and block the body up first. That way I can get in and cut and hopefully fight less obstacles.

With all that sharp gagged metal you had us a little worried my accident prone friend....Haha!! My only advice would be to maybe tack in a few braces here and there before you cut to much out. I seen Cultured Redneck Garage got a can of internal frame coating that comes with a long tube so you can get up into the hard to reach places. I believe he got it from Eastwood. Great video and I want to see more of that Dart!!
@DuddiesAdventure
@DuddiesAdventure 2 года назад
Yeah I was Worried I was going to cut myself and have to get a tetanus shot haha, Good Idea on the bracing, I think I will do that once I get it leveled out on the frame. We are “those people”. We sunk our daughter’s XJ in August and JUST removed the wet carpet. A lot of surface rust but the underneath is still good! 👍 We will not be removing the floor pans. Just grinding and adding a rust proof liner. She wants carpet back in it so we’ll install that too. Lots to do and it was almost a lot worse due to procrastination 😕 Great job showing the How Not To 🤣 Your videos always crack me up and keep me entertained!!! ❤️🐞

Yall got it in plenty of time! Luckily yall knew about it and knew what to do with the floor pans, I wish i could just wire wheel these and rust convert them, But Im pretty sure my floors have been rusting since the 80s haha. Don't worry, I'm sure yall will get the GOAT 2.0 right as rain in no time and it will be hitting the trail in no time! Thank you for always watching my Shenanigans! I did the whole Busch lite thing. Slightly better taste to me. Not to much more expensive then S L. I once played a board game called "Pass Out" with friend's. and S L was all we had. I had a worse then Budweiser headache hangover the next morning. I worked at a small grocery store with a cool manager so that had it's advantages on getting something for consumption. Plus, could hide in a brown paper grocery sack for walking out the store.

Por 15 that's what I use and you will definitely need to follow directions with it but I used it on a panel and left it out side for 15 years and it didn't rust back. Por stands for paint over rust. The original company that made it was called Worth it works better the all most every product I have tried. And do yourself a favor . Look up Fitzee on RU-vid and watch him so he can show you how to make panels and patch parts

I don’t want to shatter the public image of someone who doesn’t know what the hell they are doing, but… Watching you, you’re doing it exactly as I would do it. That doesn’t mean it’s right, but it’s the way I would do it. Lol As I repeatedly say on my channel, it’s just a matter of cutting out everything that doesn’t look like a truck… And welding and stuff that does look like a truck. I agree with you on the passenger side about flange in the floor pan up into that kit panel. What I would do is just bend some sheet metal up on the driver side to fix that. Pretty simple. Let me know if you’d like a little tutorial. 😈 We might be able to “transport” a piece to you

If you use a rust fix in a can you can put one of the straws from a wd40 can in it to get it in those holes and twist it all around
