It seems like some people are salty about one part in particular. I'm not saying that cheaters in War Thunder don't exist. They do, and there are FAR more than there should be for a game of this size, but there aren't nearly as many as people claim in your typical in-match-chat. I was exaggerating for sake of the video, but what I meant is that I wish people would only call people cheaters if they KNOW that they are. Calling everyone a cheater because they killed you makes it so that legitimate claims of cheating are taken less seriously by the community and (hopefully not) by Gaijin. Don't cry wolf, but definitely be aware of them, because there are plenty of them.
honestly its not far off, in my 1 1/2 year of player i have never seen a cheater (far as i know). honestly whens the last time you actually saw a cheater ingame? maybe once or twice but i seems extremely rare as even cheating isnt even the best way to grind either
A newish anti cheat company posted their numbers on an FPS they worked on. They said their extremely conservative number was 15-20% of the player base was cheating. There are tons of easy to access war thunder cheats out there right now for relatively cheap. Do with that what you will, but please stop pretending they don't exist.
@@chlawl574 no, there really aren’t, the good ones are timed (24 hrs, 7 days, 30 days usually) and cost a mint. If they’re cheap or free they’re viruses.
@@ursensitiveinagayway4016 What are you saying???? Let me introduce the M22 to ya, as far as I'm concerned its the best tank and most fun tank in WT, viable in any br, extremely fast and adorable
as someone who just started playing recently, its funny to me that lvl 100's complain about noobs buying premium jets, but then choose to go into rank 1 matches even with more vehicles unlocked to club seals.
@@ggaz683dude the problem isn’t low levels it’s gaijin, I don’t understand how experienced players just assume that anyone wanting to play their favorite tank or plane just needs to dump thousands of hours grinding their way there. It isn’t a job its a game, it should be fun and accessible. Make the grind easier and faster and people will work their way to top tier and learn along the way. Make it impossible and people will buy their way there. The attitude of experienced players just discourages anyone from playing and encourages gaijin to keep fucking this game up
The main difference in fun between top and bottom tier is that in low tier you can mess around and not have a care in the world and if you have a bad game then thats not an issue. Meanwhile in toptier you have to be full attention constantly otherwise you will be sniped by someone across the map and if you have a bad game you will now never financially recover with the insane amounts of SL costs which means that your too busy trying to break even in a match instead of having fun
@@siko9799 some top tier vehicles have repair cost up to 20k, now combined that with how little SL we get from one match (once i got 60k for a 12 kills/3cap/7assist game with premium, and neither i or you could do that good every match), now you got the idea how expensive it is.
@@siko9799 honestly all down to preference im just pointing out that playing higher tiers can be far more punishing if you dont play well due to the repair costs
@@drmaulana2600 and thats only factoring in that you want to pay the repair cost on your vehicles, now what if you want to buy new vehicles but you cant because your losing money per game
Unsurprisingly, the lower the tier is(except the actual top tier), there are more players who finished four or five trees and do absolute slaughter They were nicknamed "Brezhnev" due to the amount of medals on their game profiles, and the lower the tier is, the more likely there are no actual new players but swarms of "Brezhnev"s
I just started the game a few days ago and have been impressed, how good tier 1 players are. I like the game, because it's challenging, but not unfairly so. Only played AB BR 1.0-1.7 German tanks so far, but players are definitely better than in WoT. I used to play that game much, but did quit after it turned into some toxic wallet-warrior statpadding BS. WT is much more interesting game with some genuine teamplay aspects in it too.
I feel like the game really peaks just before cas gets overpowered, in the 4.7-8.0 range. With a few exceptions like the SU-11, most vehicles are relatively balanced, maps don't turn into thermal snap snipe fests, and you have fewer 1-death leavers.
Important thing to mention: stuff like ghost shells and random damage us much much more sensitive and frustrating at the top tier. The price for every mistake is extremely high.
@@biist8702 nah not rlly unless you are a light vehicle, as from 3.0 to 7.0 most tanks are armored enough to not die to a m22. M22 dominates from rank 1 to most of rank 2, then skips to the rank most nations get mbts
Naval low-tier adds an interesting wrinkle. Bottom tier bluewater starts at BR 2.7 with most nations at 3.0 or even 3.3. To round out their line-ups, a new player has to use reserve coastal, which starts at 1.0. So you have a mix of 1.0 and 1.3 small boats mixing it up with up to 4.3 and it's almost guaranteed to result in seal clubbing through no fault of the higher players.
and that's why I recommend starting naval with only coastal boats up to 2.0 or higher before mixing in blue water. once you hit 2.3 the uptiers can start, so at that point best bring your low BR destroyer. Naval is so much fun if you stick to the smaller ship, and 4.3 is right where I like to cut off at.
@@marksmith2402 thats good advice , i started playing naval before the trees were split so i had to grind out the coastal before i could get into the blue water. Only Italy do i not have at least 3.? coastal but im getting there with italy too.
@@marksmith2402 i honestly wish they would let some of the lower tier boats into the Naval EC coastal wise. There are some great PT boats that would just slam in the EC that you cant bring due to the BR
Bluewater reserves are all 3.3~3.7. What are you on about? And all reserves can spawn 3 times. So using coastal isn’t necessary. The issue with naval is the extreme compression, and that what results in seal clubbing all the time.
I play since 2013 and am Rank VII in almost every nation. I almost never touch top tier anymore. Low and mid tier is where this game is most enjoyable by far.
Past 7.3 i just don't have as much fun It becomes a game of endurance and attendance, either your team quits first or they quit first and that determines matches within a couple of minutes
Past 9.0 it’s just who can camp harder. I have been having an awful time in ground rb just due to no ability to flank because there is a dude just sitting there watching doing nothing else for 10 minutes. 7.0 was prob my most enjoyed for ground RB. But I’ve gotten bored of it recently from overplaying. Air RB I love top tier. It takes all the skills of low tier and only adds onto them. Except for radar missiles.
8.7-9.3 Italy is really fun, but anything higher goes into pain. You still have a lot of quitters that ruin matches at 8.7 but over 9.7 it feels like half the team never stays past 1 death, and most of those players also feed. At 8.7 though you have the VBC and good OF-40s, and at 9.0-9.3 you have the Centauros and VRCC.
@@erasedkarma It's alway annoying that they do that too. It's like, dude you finally have advanced stabilizers, laser range finders, and thermals and you're choosing to act like a Tiger with no upgrades.
@@xblackdog dude I’ve had to take a break from the game. From now on I’m sticking below 8.0 the camping is so lame. These people have access to the most fun tanks in the game and stare at a single frame for 15 minutes every game.
I wish gaijin would enable a game mode that is restricted to lvl 100 or within that range. It's a whole different game when both teams are aware of what they're doing and how to do it.
Low tier actually requires skill for sniping, ambushing an generally knowing the map, moving around. While top tier is a point and click experience, unless you are using an ifv or playing any nation other than russia( you need to aim for weakspots, but russian mains can pen you anywhere)
One thing that frustrates a lot of players at every tier is the RNG in this game. At lower tiers, it's ricochet RNG and at higher tiers it's ammo and fuel explosion RNG.
The issues that plague top tier are starting to come to lower ranks. I had a booster on for GE and I just had to get a kill and win. Not hard so I was playing 5.7 ground RB. We were winning until we had 6 people in planes and me + 2 others in tanks and we lost all caps. As I had a chance to get premium currency, I went in chat and asked whats going on? Why do we have everyone in planes? 1 person said he rather fly than play tanks and another said he has no more tanks because he only brought 1 tank and a plane. Its happening as low as rank 3 now
It feels weird. The WT community, when you observe it on social media seems to be all about high tier tanks, realistic battles. And yet I find a heck of a ton of players playing low tier air arcade for example, and not necessarily skillless ones either. But they’re always ignored, and I wonder why. It honestly feels like a subcommunity, the group of people in the corner, “these guys”. Maybe it’s partly due to the awful gatekeeping about realistic battles. Look dudes, that may work for tanks, and I’m glad cuz it’s less map-size sniping, but for air battles? Look, perhaps some of us don’t enjoy flying for 10 minutes only to get a single kill and get shot. And don’t say “skill issue”, someone HAS to die first in a match no matter what. If you make a mention of the very fun gamemode that is air arcade, you get shat on. Best way to make me not want to interact with WT players and just shoot them. Besides, realistic battles aren’t that realistic, with the mouse control and name tags. I’d rather play simulator if I want a realistic experience, and most of the time, I don’t. I don’t wanna go to war. I wanna fly planes above the coral sea, shooting down air pirates. But that game doesn’t exist yet. So I stick to this game. Those who have noticed my Tf2 profile pic may already agree: “fun” is more important than realism. You think we care about realism when we do a 4-in-a-row rocket jump across the map in TF2? No. We have fun doing it. And it’s the same for me in Air Arcade. I don’t mind the realistic controls, but goddamn, let us play what we want.
i have never felt gatekept i just feel like RB are the more talked about game mode because its the more "competitive" mode while arcade is the more casual mode
@@Kanudee feels this way. But usually in games I play, casual is more normal and talked about. And I did see cases of aggression towards new players who did air arcade in a yt video.
What I've noticed with spawn camping at top teir is because of the rounds and guns being able to range and hit at 3-5km easily and the maps aren't designed for top tier few seem like that you can snipe with Sabo at 3 km almost ever
In my own opinion the main difference in enjoyment is most definitely balancing. Full Uptiers at say 2.0 or 3.0 don’t kill the fun as much as a the pure misery you experience being fully uptiered at 8.0 and above. As I was grinding out the US tech tree I can vividly remember how the constant full uptiers in the m60a1 and the m1 abrams made me genuinely hate playing.
Stuck at 5.3ish just because it takes so long to get vehicles researched/ getting the silver lions to buy the tank and train the crew. It's just pain to get a new vehicle at this rate
@@ZIONOMANIA I have premium and I still cant afford shit. I get 50+k sl per battle but it doesn't matter because at 9.0+ every vehicle is so expensive its impossible to buy them.
What really fucks me off about top tier as a Britain main is how Gayjin is just removing sniping spots from maps and making everything either close range or putting trees everywhere to make long range engagements almost impossible. Gaijin doesn't care about map design and it shows.
I'm fairly new to the game. About a month or so in and I'm currently at 7.3 in the British grounds tech tree. I see myself as an average player since I come from world of tanks (they aren't very similar but if it weren't for that game, I wouldn't have been able to learn the layout of war thunder rather quickly). The only reason I'm grinding towards higher ranks is because I want to get the black night. After I achieve what I want, I'm sticking to 8.0 or lower. That or I grind some other line that interests me. It truly makes me think how a player like me already knows most of the mechanics of this game while other players who I have seen in game that have more "experience" under their belt get absolutely destroyed, that or yolo up a random road just to get killed off and then proceed to leave the match after dying once. Reminds me a lot of world of tanks and it's player base.
My experience with top tier is non-existent, as I haven't made it past rank V yet and with all of the 1-death leavers pretty much deciding the results of battles I have my doubts if it's even worth getting there the regular way (i.e. grinding through the tech tree instead of just buying a high tier premium). At this point I'm really considering sparing those 30 bucks for a Leo or Chally when they're on sale instead of just grinding, because the grind starts to be a real pain at the ranks I'm just reaching. Lower ranks are fun and relaxing, but I'm trying to stay above 3.0-4.0 because fun at rank I-II comes with guilt (I hate seal clubbing)
I'm having tons of fun with my Jumbos at 5.3. Sure the 75mm cannon isnt great but I've gotten really good at shooting barrels, then track, then getting beside them and finishing them off. Tigers are my fave to pick apart.
My friend brought me to about 8.7-9.7 and I brought out some props. This US main was quite toxic and just kept on targeting me and told me to leave, so I go head on with him and pilot kill him. Glad to put him right back in his place, told him to sit “his a** down”, he avoided me from there on.
I'm in Tier4, the level of more careful you are is astonishing. Taking it slower, don't rush into danger 😀 more fun playing and worth the grinding when you get higher. I know, Tier5 is big boy step up with jets, I will stay in my bedroom crying and trying😅
Hi Tank! Good stuff...I play with a few friends...always play AB (in Planes) and since we decided to play 3.0BR we have a lots of fun. Its our opinion that at 3.0 / 2.7 BR all nations are mostly level...Japanese planes and FWolfs and some ruskys have certain advantages, (we only fly US or British planes), but we have a lot of fun...it is a game after all and we love the WWII theme...keep up the good work!
With planes, I feel Rank 3 and 4 are the sweet spots for me. The repair costs are not insane yet, so typically as long as you can get one assist, you're not losing money, and although there are some pay to win style planes like the XP-50 there, they aren't the majority of planes that you face, versus early era jets where you'll always face multiple SU-11's, for instance. Top tier jets for me isn't nearly as fun as props overall, because top tier jets is mainly missile fights, versus props are actual dogfights.
@@americanpatriotlgb4780 Absolutely, when you get into a dogfight in top tier, it is fun, just wish it was more frequent. Honestly they should have a guns only mode in top tier, think that would be a lot of fun.
I am a newer player with a little over 1000 battles. I have almost all tanks 100% spaded at rank 4 and bellow in US tech tree. I grew to love the shermans, but now I really struggle with the non-stabilized guns in rank 4 and 5. Thus I am somewhat eager to get to rank 6 as I currently do well enough in my XM-1 (which I only play when I have backups, and I use M163, M41, M36B2 and T34 along side it. Had a blast blowing up much higer BR light tanks with the T34 xD
top tier is a very mixed bag. i find it kinda sad that many things you learn in low tier dont matter any more in high tier. like ballistics. everyone has laser range finder and ammunition that flies in a straight path, your sights being auto adjusted by your range finder. it becomes a point and click game. it also takes away the awareness game to a degree. in low tier your eyes are focussed on movements or unnatural shapes in the distance..or that one pixel that just moved behind a house, you just spotted through the window. in high tier everyone has thermals. i spend the majority of high tier games in thermal view.. on the other hand you can have a blast in high tier if you earned/played your way in there instead of buying, because you have a 3+ vehicle lineup, know the ins and outs of the maps and most vehicles and if confronted by a wallet warrior you will almost always come out on top because you took with you the map awareness from low tier.
With how absolutely stingy WT is in both xp and silver (at least compared to WG's titles where the tech trees are fairly small and you can complete one in a week playing really casually) I don't see myself ever going higher than T3 (maybe 4 in one or two lines). Seriously, it's barely playable without a subscription (which premium time is, really). Luckily I like WW2 vehicles the best, so that's fine by me.
Low tier: Fun, forgiving and you can play without worrying about anything Top tier: Excruciatingly psycologically painful even if you win and die you get crushed by the ridiculous reopair costs and the atrocious economy
Low tier is literally you being a new player and getting one shot across the map by level 100 with 30k battles who comes to reserve tier to dunk on you 😢
The main difference between both tiers in regards of air battles today is that in top tier they destroyed the map rotation. Starting in early jets all the way through 12.0 BR you're going to play the same 5 (EC big-style) maps over, and over, and over, and over again. I'm not even mentioning the lack of rework and/or new mechanics and the problems that comes along with it, everyone's aware but nothing will be done about it.
Worst thing about top tier is that nowdays mainly in ground RB you either get perfect team and you steamroll enemys to their spawn and WIN And then you get the WORST TEAM with less peoples spawning you get steamrolled and revenge killed by drones ect. And you lose
That is always my experience. Either first to third place on the losing team or 10th and below on winning team that wins so fast I can't accrue any points. After either way I end up a point or two away from whatever research, ensuring I have to play another round to unlock it (or pay, of course). My backup tanks ALWAYS perform better than the free first spawn. Sometimes I cannot BUY a kill, only hits and crits, then they kill me or i get an assist. Many things like that all add up to enjoyment taking a backseat to pressure to spend.
The problem is that the maps are not really made for Top Tier vehicles. They are either too small or too big and open. That can either snipe with laser range finder from spawn or reach the middle of the map too fast.
Reserve - 5.7 is the best tiers to play. Anything above that is just dumb. Way to many unbalanced vehicles. Also, High tier is much easier to play because everyone has lasers beam guns, ammunition that pens everything and thermals. Makes finding and eliminating tanks very easy.
As a top tier player.. I can and can't agree more.. In low tier you have to be a better scout than your enemy and be a good shooter without a laser range finder or a thermal In high tier you have to be aware of your enemy. For example those guys can do the same (spot and laser you). So you have to be more careful about your enemies (who's worth to fight and who's not). I have around 2.5k hour in game, but i prefer both. There are times when i play 5.3 germany or 10.0 germany. The lowest i'll go is 3.7 with the USSR and the highest is 10.7 with America or 10.0 both USSR&Germany. I do not play between 6.3-7.0 since heatfs rounds and ATGM's makes me mad for some reason there
This was a good upload. I have been very on and off with WT over the past year. Started the game in 2014, via a good friend who introduced me into WT back then. I left the game in 2015, due to life commitments. Came back last year, on and off as mentioned. Since playing this game on and off over the past year, since the start of the year, I’ve been slowly getting back into it, and over time have got my first million. Yes I have been playing with Premium Account, due to claiming my dailies got some Silver Lions here and there, playing numerous tech tree lines (mainly aviation), and got my first million. I haven’t got my first jet yet, although almost getting there on the U.S and British line. Still having fun with props. I have to admit there are frustrations, but then again this is a game at the end of the day. Another friend whom I’ve met through another game, was getting suckered into the shiny Jets and really wanted the Harrier and Phantom. I told him the brutal truth, that he hasn’t played any Air RB, mostly Arcade, and since he jumped into Air RB with me, he struggled with it (which was funny for me to watch), but I told him buying his way up into high tiers, would ruin his experience of the game, and just grind your way, learn how to dogfight up the Tiers, and let’s have fun on the way. Since then he hasn’t logged in the game, and stuck to his ways playing a well known Ship game with CVs and Submarines going by the name of World Of Warships. It seems as it’s sometimes comes down to the individuals own mindset with how they approach WT. start from the bottom, and work your way up, and you will get that vital experience in the game which will take you a long way. I’m only a Level 35, but having a blast, literally if I realise I have messed up getting shot up by someone else who had the jump one when I wasn’t aware enough of their presence. A good humble wake up call of an upload. Keep up the good work.
What I've noticed over the past few months is in lower tiers I will often either go on a killing spree of 8 or more, or become part of someone else's killing spree with every spawn. Then for the few times I checked the opposing player who's on a spree, I find that they have at least 15k matches in realistic and multiple tech trees completed.
Why is an Abrams cheaper to repair than my 7.7 french tank? SL is the biggest reason I'll stop spawning. I've had 4-5 kill 2 cap games and lost SL due to repairs.
I can relate to top tier being a money pit. A mix of bad luck and skill issues makes playing jets a fucking nightmare. I actually try to land and return to hangar after I've got a few ground kills just to not have to run the risk of getting my aircraft destroyed and having to pay the repair cost.
@@reubengeldenhuys8599 it will be better for you since the snail likes to make the russian tanks stronger than they are and later on when you get higher and higher the game will be more frustrating
Trust me, if you were in the T-34 you’d be saying the same thing just replace T-34 with Tiger or Sherman. WW2 era is cool if you’re into history but by the time you get to Cold War stuff you’ll never wanna see any of those tanks again.
Repair cost is 100% of the problem. The grind is what it is, but players concerned about even going positive overall are more likely to steal kills and only play one life if their team is losing.
I hate that shit cause I like to win but you’ll see 4 teammates going after 1 enemy in the air, it’s like wtf 2 max is really all you need if you need help but if your already his tail others should just break off and go find another but nooooo we are going to waste all our time going after 1 dude lol
I think it's funny when the subreddit cirlejerks about balancing when the biggest factor by far in high tier is which team has the most noobs without a lineup. And then they complain about rewards when they don't bring a backup tank or SPAA so their performance is dogwater. And they don't even get the bonus RP for a win since they threw the match.
I do have to say, I usually quit after 1 game, not because I rage-quit but because I only take 1 vehicle with me since the SL cost is too high at top-tier
I’m not quite at top tier yet, but usually play air RB in early jets. Occasionally I’ll just grab a few < 3.0 BR props, join an air AB match, and just embrace the furball. It’s just… air RB in general, at any tier, doesn’t offer the same kind of manic scramble to respawn in something with a bomb so you can fly as fast as you can to blow up the last tank on the other team to secure a win.
I’m at tier 4 almost 5. I haven’t spent a dime on the game and I have heard I probably will have to. I am going to try and get top tier by the end of this year or early next year and not spend any money and just have fun
My complaint with a lot of the game is around BR scaling and map layouts. Too many games at 8.0+ are turning into target practice ranges because you will get upgunned WW2 era tanks going against gun cars with thermals, ATGMs, and laser rangers. I just wish it wasn’t so punishing the higher up you go in the game. I get it, there’s a learning curve you need to grab, but there’s a fundamental difference between knowing how to kill ERA tanks with lighter vehicles, and spawning in only to die because someone already has sight on you long before you’re aware someone’s even looking in the bearing of your team’s spawn.
I will say this though, bottom tier terrain use is way more op than top tier, as a Sherman you can hide in bushes as a panther or tiger passes by because he has no thermals and NVD, but in top tier, try hiding from a leopard 2a5 in a bush, not a chance if his thermals don’t see you best believe his nvd will
In bottom tier, I can flip an enemy tank who got stuck upside down and we can mutually slink off happy until we meet again. Doing it top tier is heavily discouraged thusly the top tier sucks
There's another fact that contributes to one death leavers at top tier: the repair cost is too high for f2p players. If my team is getting steamrolled, even if I'm doing good, I will leave after one death. It's not because I'm sore loser. Gaijin prohibits me of keep spawning tanks because I can't pay for their repairs if I'm not premium. That doesn't happen in low tier. If i need to make SL, I can only go 6.3 br tops. Beyond that is a money sink.
You forgot to mention that if you play top tier only Russia with the T-80 BVM and Germany with their Leopard 2 variants are actually worth playing for GRB.
@@BodarkManYes the 1000kg bomb or the 30mm gunpods slap. But I prefer the 335b2 with the single 500kg bomb and the 3 mk103, it's a very early A-10. Plus, good SL bonuses and RP with this plane. It's also good at PE8 hunting.
The only thing im pissed about on low tier is the dam seal clubbers that clearly knows how to fly a plane and has the knowledge to distinguish tanks that they can k1ll, im just casually sitting inside my sturmpanzer when a fxcking plane specifically targets me between the choices of either the AA just a few meters away from me or a puma, the worst part is when they crash the plane just for it
low tier is my favorite because one no one takes it seriously and 2 no snipping and brawling just running around 1 shot for everyone then getting one shot
For me I’m using 6.0 air RB recently, the He 162 has a lot of weaknesses and strengths, I love playing it because it scares people if I play it right but if wrong I might as well be a free kill
I've gotten several lines to BR7-8 and almost all of them to 6. Best thing I've done in War Thunder is stop trying to grind lines and just go back and play between BR 3-6. I do try and win the game but my main aim is to have fun and pile up the frags. At higher tiers people play very seriously and the chances of being killed by a camper are a mile higher. Each to their own, but I don't find that gameplay fun vs the push pull battles capping points and keeping mobile/brawling etc. The larger maps you start to see at like 5.7 and up also don't float my boat. Driving a slow ass German track for 5 minutes only to be one tapped by a hidden Hellcat and have to do it all again isn't my idea of fun.
I personally am level 14 but with a more than 1 year of playtime and I’ve tested drived and made custom games in top and low tier and now know how to use vehicles easily now especially top tier am planning on buying the f-5c to grind aviation USA
I’d agree with almost everything you said, with the one exception of cheaters, I have seen a few cheaters in the last couple months, and have a video of one of them using an Ostwind shooting only three or four times and hitting targets at 1500 m up. In the video you can see him tracking exactly where to shoot.
The SL cost is the biggest problem at top tier for me, I'll quit early because there's no point throwing good lions after bad. That combined with being sniped across the map through two forests, or sniped by a drone that you don't have *any* anti air counter to just becomes frustrating. Then add how long it takes to actually grind the tree. I can regularly make top spot at 4.0 but I'm lucky if I break even k/d ratio at above 9BR
The issue I have is that the game as you go through the tiers makes you learn a certain playstyle and environment that is intuitive and then none of it really applies in Top Tier. All that matters in top tier is SPEED. reload speed, speed of your vehicle and speed of your shell to target. Everything essentially 1 shots eachother and everyone has super optics and laser auto-aim and ATGM missiles but all of the maps essentially are designed for close range fighting.
I think you are right, also top tier should have much bigger maps made for sniping as the modern mbt was deaignet not for CQB. Its comparable to racing F1 cars on a grocery parking lot.
I have hoped back into war thunder and brought a friend with me this time and before he even downloaded the game we had an agreement to stay at 5.0 or lower for so many reasons and we have been having a great time.
Honestly I just bought the tanks that seemed like fun in the american tree, (it was also to get away from the maus plague of 6.0-7.3). I can say top tier requires a lot more knowledge but if you keep a good head on your shoulders it can be fun. (LOSAT adds additional fun to it.), the people who leave after 1 death are what ruin the matches for me because then the entire enemy team just swarms our spawn and we can do nothing, or the people who are in jets and helicopters at the last quarter of the match even though the enemy has all points secured.
Top tier is much more satisfying when you get a kill and (more often than not) takes alot more skill and brainpower to do well, ironically enough thats why alot of people dont do well at top tier, its almost a completely different gamemode than low tier, which is what most people are used to
I feel like ARB top tier is one of the fun-nest place to be in War Thunder. Everybody gets along and makes fun of prem noobs while messing around with Top Gun jokes and constantly saying ‘I was flying inverted’ whenever a F-14 beats either an F-5 or a MIG.
Top tier player here , pretty damn accurate. Though in all honesty there's plenty of pleasant moments in chat , cracking jokes and just enjoying ourselves without making fun of anyone , yes even with enemies , sure they're rare but it happens and honestly it always makes my day. I'm just a huge fan of more modern vehicles though the grind to this point was hell of an experience too so going back every once in a while feels great and refreshing.
Do you know how is Ground SB like at top BR? I've played a bit in SB with a 4.7 lineup and it seemed refreshingly slower-paced compared to RB (and with way less airplanes).
I feel like top tier is just who gets less premium quitters win. It's so annoying that it's not giving justice to the grind if we're subjected to games like this.
Playing in top tier people are more prone to rage quitting because of CAS bs. I know because I have been one of those who gets a couple kills, dies, respawns and is then insta deleted by a heli spawncamping from 5 miles away and then I just say 'fuck it' and leave.
i remember my first million didnt want to go below but now i spend a million to ace a crew lol....this last event alone to get the 292 i made 6 million i started last april 2023 and now i have every tech tree through rank 4 unlocked and now and some through 6 and 7 finally after all this time playing for 700hrs im finally getting a positive kd ratio in my newest vehicles or at least a 1 to 1 compared to 200 deaths and 60 kills before....i just bought the type16 and type 74 and in 3 days unlocked the japanese tech tree halfway through rank 4...only 3 days (thanks 292 event)
gaijin should cut the modern ground vehicule trees separately from the other trees, so that new players can start from top tier (end of cold war vehicules) instead of having to grind all the way up, i also noticed most top tier matches aren't fun because you curb stomp enemies in most instances and they only have at most 2 vehicules (1 backup + normal spawn) and 3/4 spawns for Russia (BMP-2M + TURMS-T), Russia wins most matches but not just because of the T80BVM but simply because the enemy doesn't have enough spawns anyway. imo the highest BR where you still have fun is 7.3 because there's a lot of meta vehicules for each nations that you can use to win while uptiered, 8.3 can be fun for some nations (Russia namely) but most of the time you'll be uptiered against vehicules with thermals and special armor that renders HEAT-FS useless. the best BR is probably 5.7 for all nations.
I may only have 1 challenger tank which is the premium, but I play the challenger because it’s fun and modern tanks imo are a lot easier to play/learn than lower tier tanks. Plus I’m just grinding with premium so I can finally get the regular challenger 2s…
I’m sometimes become leaver and rage quitter because keeping respawning and dying costs a lot of SL. I’m really taking a long time increasing my SL. I can research fast but no SL to buy them.
The whole point of warthunder is that there are different experiences to be had at different BRs with different nations. skipping all that to go top tier which atleast in my opinion is one of the least enjoyable BRs is madness
As a naval player I have to stick my nose in here. Yes top tier naval is expensive 32 000-60 000 silver Lions repair cost. Yes I totally agree BUUUT If you are good and hit every other shoot thats 300-700 silver Lions per HIT. And you can hit ALOT in a game we talk 150-500 hits per game. Then you have the kills thats another story. Plus mission points and capture the flag is around 10 000 per flag depends on premium and such. Top jet and tanks has also capturing BUT you don't receive as much.
I don't even play top tier any more. I just play custom battles and sit around in my F16 which instead of grinding, I just bought day 1 because I don't have the time anymore.
When I'm trying to spade out a new non-premium vehicle, I turn into a 1-leaver also. It won't have laser rangefinder, thermals, the good ammo, etc. so yah I'm lucky if I can even get a hit much less a kill.
I’ve been playing for about 3 years now and I stay at Prop planes 4.7-6.0 is the most fun for me, I have jets but it’s just missile lock on which takes no skill
As ablow tier player, in my opinion, i always feel low tier is harder than top tier, then i realise that i see wt content about destroying other top tier players, then i realised again that top tier player still grinded wlot and experienced more pain than me.
