I love you taking us with you on your shopping trip to the market. I really appreciate you showing us the prices. I just noticed how cheap the cherrie are. It cost us $177 TL for 1 kilo Canadian in Vancouver Island B.C. Canada as of July 2023.

How I wish there was a market like this in my little town. We have a farmers' market once a week, where I buy some vegetables, occasionally, but it is not a large market like the one you have shown us. Nice videolog! Thank you.

I could spend all day on this market. Love grocery shopping, especially for spices. Turkiye is a beautiful country and Turkish people are so friendly and hospitable. My best friend hails from Kayseri but lives in Belgium. We've been friends since 1972 and chat almost daily.

I would say in all around turkey especially if you leave urban centers inflation isn't much of a problem, dollar still below 30, yeah but in urban centres you will feel the heat of inflation it maybe because of a lot of tourists visit these metropolitans, but if you compare it to Pakistan cost of living is very low In turkey, in Pakistan we have to face the price surge every day on gorcery and other utilities.

C'est incroyable la variété de ce marché mais ce qui est encore plus incroyable, ce sont les prix! En euros ou dollars c'est vraiment pas cher! En France, le kilo de cerises est au minimum à 15 euros en pleine saison alors que là bas c'est environ 1 euro 😲 Mais j'imagine que pour les turcs c'est peut être cher pour eux, il faut donc relativiser.

Oui, tu as raison. Ce n'est pas bon marché pour nous en général. Des cerises de bonne qualité peuvent être trouvées jusqu'à 3-4 euros. Mais puis-je demander quel est le salaire minimum mensuel en France ? Ici, c'est autour de 385 euros.

@@TFT c'est environ 1350/1400 euros en France mais en région parisienne c'est peu car les logements sont très élevés, mais c'est pareil à Istanbul pour le logement 🤷‍♀️ Malheureusement, comme on dit, l'herbe n'est pas plus verte ailleurs 😊

Notre seule chance est de vivre au sein de la famille. Les enfants ne quittent généralement pas leur famille avant de se marier. Lorsque les revenus sont réunis, il devient plus facile de couvrir les dépenses.

Unfortunately I read that a lot of honey imported from Turkey into the U.K. and the EU had syrup added so I now don’t buy Turkish honey.

I don’t think they would do it when importing especially. I hope they don’t. Here we just look for known brands and local producers that we know.

@@TFT the news article I read Ayse explained that the EU had analyzed samples of Turkish honey that was exported from Turkey and was imported into the EU and the U.K. The evidence was conclusive that a high proportion of Turkish honey that was advertised as 100% honey unfortunately had high concentrations of syrup. It’s not surprising. Many Turkish manufacturers are dealing with high inflation so reducing costs by adding syrup makes sense. It’s just a bit dishonest.
