Two convicted murderers bundled up clothes in their beds, then escaped from their upstate New York maximum security prison cells through catwalks and tunnels, officials said.
As a result of the deception, Richard Matt and David Sweat were accounted for during a morning bed check at the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, about 20 miles south of the Canadian border, said New York State police.

Nope we don’t need to house killers...you take a life (murder) then you should loose your life. If you are duly convicted, then you should be duly sentenced to die within a reasonable time, like, as soon as the judge finishes, then you are taken to the court house steps and executed. Just might deter some of the murdering.

Where I live if you walk into my back yard through the fields it’s brings you right to a maximum security prison and another one right across the street that’s minimum security I think is what it’s called. Kind of scary. But there’s only been one person that’s escaped from there. And it was years ago.

Matt was caught 20 days later. He was killed by police when he was holding a shot gun. Sweat was caught 2 days later. He was shot twice while fleeing. He recovered and was sent back prison.

I lived fairly close to that prison, man was it terrifying when they got out. I haven’t watched this fully yet, but I believe they were found by a bounty hunter in the woods. One was killed, and the other severely injured. I believe the one who survived, is now in prison again.

Then how they still had the presence of mind to leave that note. When they showed the note I friggin' died. The Asian smiley face? I mean WTF is that?! LMAO!!" They're probably down in Zihuatanejo, Mexico with Morgan Freeman restoring an old boat just like in the movie. When the governor said that shit to the inmate next to them it reminded me of the movie too. "One big conspiracy! Talk to all his friends - starting with that one!" Guard: "Which one?" Ripstikking0503 _ I used to make the same comments until someone made an excellent point - that's when they throw your ass in SuperMax in Colorado where every day is hell. No commissary, all underground, rotating shower that comes and goes to each cell, no mail to hold on to (mail is opened and put on a projection screen to your room with a small time to read each letter), zero sun, no TV, basically nothing. Worse than Pelican Bay.

when I was in a mis jail there were men going through the heater vents inside their cell to the women's side and that led into women's cells. they'd have sex and then men climbed back up. they never did get caught. I heard it was 2 men only doing it and always went to the same women.

Junior Fletcher OK... now why would they lie? you have a roommate in your cell. the guards only glance in your room twice a night on lock down... at night when suppose to sleep however they don't care if you're up all night. meanwhile a prisoner is cleaning our pod for 4 hours to make like $2-4 a day. a guard never checks cells with the one cleaning. in fact the cleaner would give us a lighter to smoke in our cells sliding under our door and we'd slide it back. the guards always left 2 lighters for smokers in the pod. we never got caught smoking because we knew the guards routine. every cell has a large vent that can easily be unscrewed judging upon ours. you do realise not everybody makes sounds during sex, right??? anyways... there's an open 4 hour window. this isn't a federal state prison. felons were kept in other side during court eras or if federal prison was maxed. for a guard to see inside your cell they must walk up to your door because there is only a small window to see in. nodody narks there or else your ass may be kicked. why nark on that??? if they came to our cell then I would definitely told the guards and would tell my roommate I won't allow it. luckily she wasn't interested in sex with them.

Junior Fletcher its a long story why I got sent there but was due to too many traffic tickets. I actually had a lot of fun while I was in there. I know that sounds unreal but it wasn't that bad. I have many stories to tell. but the day I had enough of it... I actually said to god... I've had enough. minutes later my roommate ran to our cell and said I have an early release. I walked out and guard said its true. I was stuck in there without a bail option because was during election era.

Junior Fletcher we had a TV, ping pong table, games and cards to play and 1 hour gym time to play sports or workout. the men are asked if gay... if yes then they are sent to the gay pod. but this is that jail center. once again... this is a city county jail... not a prison.

+magicaIpineapple actually some are. There was an escape from a county jail that was used to farm out felons from a prison system about 7 years ago in my state. One of the escapees stab a person in the face and stole his car. When you have life to do, many will do anything to stay out of prison.

Watch Breakout. Those escapes are interesting, but some are stupid on what they do when they escape. One dude escaped and left no trail, until he called a family relative. Also there was this person who escaped and instantly went to robbing stores and casinos. Like wtf you are free and you just making the biggest mistakes again.

Woulda been a lot cooler if the eacape was successful. Thats when im impressed. Like that old man who escaped and lived a full life. He joined the military under his brothers name made a full military career, got married, had kids and retired. He just went back to normal life. When they caught him he was in his 80s. NOW THATS IMPRESSIVE. And jidge let him off easy because he served our country and became a productive member of society.

Number 3 I agree - at least in their initial stage of getting far away that murdering another person would just get more heat after them (and clues). But eventually they could reach a point where they're just starting to have hope for life outside till someone eventually gets suspicious. Maybe a drinking buddy or guy fishing next to them, whatever, then they definitely would have no reason not to kill that person. They'd have nothing to lose.
