I have installed Lineage OS on this 2014 Galaxy note 4 to bring it up to android 11 - how well does it preform in 2024?

nice video man,to be honest,this would be better suited with android 10,or at least a android 11 go version,the lag you saw was mainly caused by the heavy weight of android 11,even though its probably lightweight depending on your os that you loaded

My note 4 runs significantly better than this, I suggest lowering your resolution to 1080p via adb

discod runs slow as hell because of their new app update which combines the framework that is used in their ios app. Before tho it wasnt as laggy

On my Note 4 rn, imo, the Samsung stock ROM in Android 6 is still pretty decently usable... in fact... I think my Note 4 works more flashier than the note 4 on LineageOS in the video? Eitherways💀💀 I find it weird how this phone is still living to its name even after 10 years.

Try to change the battery with a new battery and try using it again it should help with the lag

my note 4 runs an unofficial NFE fork of android 7.0 and its relatively usable

sadly i broke my note 4 back in 2019, still miss it... it was really good workin and looking phone, also my first EVER smartphone

"It was so laggy and was like old phone" me just watching on the same phone without the rom: is this lie? edit: tho when i had a dying battery, it keept lagging and turned itself (then it would drop to 0 directly) so replace the battery i guess if you need better performance

Yeah it's possible the battery causes most performance issues depending on it's state and age

Unfortunately it's not possible to bootloader unlock Snapdragon devices for some random reason

I have an s4 mini I recently booted up for nostalgia reason, it also led me here, and I installed an app called ir remote from fdroid and it surprisingly works with every tv I've come across: oldish samsung smart tvs, newer samsung smart tvs, panasonic smart tvs, a really old lg and a few others.
