FYI I have just tried this with 'normal' parts i.e. no sheet metal elements.... and it works fine. You do have 5x fields to fill out in the tab&slot dialogue box, but select as follows; 1st field: select the edge of the part that is in edit mode (just as you show in this video) 2nd field: end face of the part to be slotted (so where the tabs will finish) 3rd field: select the face on the edited part where the tabs will begin (this must and should naturally be shared by the tab edge selected in the 1st field) Fields 4&5 should self populate. That's it, works perfectly for me running Solidworks 2023 :)
great to know that works, it just the sheet metal method has a feature that dynamically updates the tabs and slot when you change the design. it can be good/bad depending on your needs. But I'll check this other method out cheers for sharing.
Thanks on the assembly... I would have figured it out but you saved me a lot of time. This is the first ever adding something in one part then it changes in the other in the full assembly. It usually give you an interference error on update. Thanks.
