Amazing story. A lot of people in the world will try and tar y’all with the same brush. Ex drug user. Don’t give you the time of day. But, you, are an inspiration to many. You have shown the strength and determination to get clean and are not afraid to tell people about it. Vanlife will sure as hell help you on this journey. I found myself in a situation nearly two years ago that lead to me being in hospital three times after attempted overdose. Vanlife saved me, and I am proud to be a part of the vanlife recoveries stories. Well done, and hope to meet you sometime at a meetup 👍

Realism, determination, understanding and help from someone other than yourself have all played their part in your story, Mick. Hopefully, through this Vlog, you will be someone else's "someone" and they realise they can have a better life that is worth living for - even if there are ups and downs along the way.

Just come across this video and have to say this is everything I hate about modern medicine, the throw drugs at it and everything will be alright. I work more on the metabolic health side and am trying to get doctors to work on the route cause eg statins and the like for heart health and how that doesn't work. But the similarities are stark, we are now at a stage where looking for a route cause is ignored in favour of treating the symptom. I always say nobody has a headache because of a paracetamol deficiency so why is that the first line of treatment. Really glad you are facing this head on, I know it will be a hard slog but worth it in the end. Much respect my friend and look forward to meeting you on the road sometime. Chris

Thankyou so much for this Chris it means so much to me knowing I'm reaching people that understand what I'm going through. The human body itself is a big chemical factory we have everything we need in our bodies and if we need assistance then everything we need is in the earth. Anti inflammatory made from dandelion roots to make tea which is also good for headaches amd so on. Tha ks again and look forward to seeing you on the road many blessings and much love ❤️

You are god my friend you are the creator of your own life and only you have the power to change anything. We don't realise how powerful the human body and mind is and how much we can accomplished when we unite them both and work in harmony with the body and mind. Once the battle of the mind is won there is nothing you can't achieve. Its not easy but it is achievable and I can't stress enough the freedom and life I feel now amd my health is getting better daily. Every day I wake up I wake up a little more healed. I am very grateful for your comment and honesty Adam I wish you all the blessings on your path if I can help in anyway just let me know xx

I was listening to a short talk the other day by a British Buddhist, Ajahn Amaro, titled Aversion to Pain and Discomfort. Its available online and deals with the mental and physical. He and his fellow monks and nuns have plenty to say on dealing with these sort of issues. He resides at the Amaravati Buddhist Monastery in Hertfordshire, part of the Theravada Buddhist lineage, having also a branch in Belsay, Northumberland and a few elsewhere in the UK. I've learnt plenty from them; its been one of the most delightful experiences of my life, and might be of interest if you dont know them already. ATB.

@@Road.to.recovery They offer so much, talks (all on utube too if you tap in name of monastery), guided meditations, retreats, and a great lunch daily (usually midday in summer), all free, and so good to add some of their wisdom to ones own life. Not surprising they are busy with visitors from all around the world, so its fun to meet new people there. The one in Northumberland is called Aruna Ratanagiri; Herts - Amaravati; West Sussex - Cittaviveka. Made my day being able to chat to you today, atb.

I can't thankyou enough for this. We are close to northumberland and visit often and we will be sure to make a visit as this is something I've wanted to do for a long time I am so grateful and so amazed at the timing of your message as this is just what I need right now 🙏

@@Road.to.recovery you and me both lol. It appears intimidating first time (the austere way they look) but you wont find a more loving gang anywhere. I like going to mine on Saturday, have a blow-out veggie lunch, a stroll around their grounds, and then a guided med at 2pm followed by a q and a. For sure if you have something serious to discuss, collar a head honcho alone and i'm sure they'll oblige. They live off donations so i take a bag of apples or similar when i visit. The visitors staying on retreat in the guest cottages do all the cooking. Not too shabby i think you'll agree for an aftn, enjoy and let me know how you found it if you go!

I am sure I read somewhere that they are moving that monument from the top of the hill (I cant remember it's name) down to Beamish estate.
