The weird thing is, Genshin Impact has higher prices for something that's only worth not even 10 pulls. They encourage grinding and exploring, and limited time events offer decent rewards. Plus, if you're away for a while, they offer significant log-in rewards.

@@raidenshogun6517 They rerun characters you might've missed, though, and pity carries over to the next banners. 50/50 can be cruel sometimes (*cough cough* Qiqi *cough*), but the chance of getting a 5-star increases after about 70 pulls, and increases further with each wish that isn't a 5-star. If you don't have many 5-stars, wishing could get you the characters you really want, be they standard or limited.

Lmao, I love you for this comment Black Ops 2 also had some of the funniest slot machine weapons in zombies survival mode My friend and I hopped on the game with two controllers on my Xbox 360. It was our first time playing zombies survival mode and we were barely 12. It scared the shit out of us. When we discovered the slot machine (which, embarrassingly, wasn't until after 45 minutes of playing the same mode 💀) we would gamble for hours trying to get the ray gun, which I got in my first try. We both thought it was a common weapon to get since I got it on my first try. Oh boy, were we wrong. Those were the good days. If you've read this far, thanks! I had a lighthearted story to share in this day and age of chaos and needless hate. Would love to read more stories in the replies!

Okay, as one of the few Identity V fans here, its a very predatory game for your money, but ONLY for skins. You can purchase any character you want with in game currency only after a few hours of play, and each character is at their peak performance when purchased. It only matters how you utilize them. (There is also a universal perk tree, easy to max out early on but they is no way to put money into it.)

You beat me to it. I play IdV and yep, maxing the meta progression only takes some good hours into the game(I don’t think you can buy it even if you wanted), and it’s only the cosmetics. The game is played competitively too. It is by no definition p2w unless you count skins

Calling Genshin Pay-to-Win is a stretch. The game has no competitive multiplayer and is primarily a single player story driven game with some optional co-op. All the content in the game can be completed with the characters you get for free or naturally get by acquiring the premium currency. Hech some events in game will give you free characters and weapons by doing the bare minimum of effort. Will it be harder, a little. But not so much that you HAVE to spend money for characters. Sure there are META chasers but thats in basically every game these days. You pull for characters because you like them, not because you need them to "WIN" the game. Ive been playing the game for 4 years and only spent money to get one character, and not because he was the best but because hes funny as hell and has a cool move set. Itto the Oni.

@daymnieljoe8794 I've seen people clear it with the default characters, it just takes more effort. Besides the Abyss is a miniscule part of the game's content compared to everything else and not required at all. It's an optional challenge to test yourself. And paying money to get the best characters to beat it is kinda worthless because you'll spend more primos getting those characters than what you get for rewards from it. I've barely touched the Abyss the entire time Ive played

i get genshin impact does get a lot of money, but i just wanted to share this about it, you arent really forced to pay money for characters, you can easily earn the in game currency just by playing the game regularly, and the devs introduce events that give a lot of free rewards

It would probably have been better to mention absolutely different games in the pay to win section. The biggest problem with p2w is that non-paying players lose with no chance to paying ones. Genshin impact has no pvp, GTA online is an okay example, but a less obvious one, while Identity V doesn't even sell advantages to the players.
