How Viewers Discovered Nelson Sullivan 

My Nelson Sullivan discovery began about a year ago when I searched for Ru Paul on RU-vid, and came across an VHS quality looking video from when Ru Paul was first starting out. It didn't take long for me to actually forget all about Ru and was captivated by Nelson, his beautiful voice and his literal invention of vlogging and selfie vlogging. I am so glad I found these archives. Thank you to you and Dick Richards for sharing his awesome videos. He really has and continues to change the world and make it better. ❤❤❤

I met Nelson twice through my cousin who used to hang with the club kids and also did all the sound systems for all the major clubs and arenas/stadiums like Limelight and Madison Square Garden. I started hanging in the club scene and when I met Nelson He went out of his way to make me feel comfortable and help me know the city better. There's more but too much to write. Anyway... he definitely is missed! Great video. Glad I'm a subscriber. 🤖🤓

I discovered Nelson several months ago on You Tube and Ali on Retro Room. You have a beautiful spirit! Nelson is amazing and makes you feel that you know him! I love Nelson and he takes me back to a time and place over those same years...but in a différant part of the USA. Love is love! ❤️ Thank you for all you do and share with us. 🌺🌴🌞💕

Gawd I love this and Nelson. I found his videos years ago when they first started going up. I admire him for the beautiful soul he was and the superior/raw way he filmed. I’m heartbroken that he is no longer with us. Gone way too soon. My favorite ones are with him and his friends or walking somewhere.

If I could go back in time I would find Nelson! I cannot even remember which was the first but I still try to find as much as I can on Nelson!

I love this.. happy belated birthday to Nelson.. I have binge watched and repeat-watched so many of these videos that now I often feel a sense of mourning, longing and love for so many people I never knew... except that Nelsons ability to capture moments so vivid makes me feel like I was there.. and I'm ok with that. Keep up the work, I think what's happening is great, and love hearing from u 🙂💚

Actually, the first video I ever saw was the Big Star off Ponce. I'm from the Atlanta area and enjoy old videos of that area from earlier times. I'm old enough to remember some of that scene and even Atlanta had a bit more interest in that time. Then I got curious and found out there were so many from Atlanta, NYC, and even going through South Carolina. I have been a subscriber to the 5 ninth avenue, and was suggested Retro Room. Boy how things have changed and the world a bit smaller, but I'm happy to have found this channel and lots of love! I hope both channels keep growing so you can share more with us!!!!💖💖💖

I discovered Nelson’s videos last year when studying Michael Alig and the club kids I watched the McDonalds outlaw party (which I had the good fortune to attend) . I recalled seeing Nelson in person dressed as his alter ego Ms Amnesia the day of the gay pride parade video... other videos I initially viewed include Alig’s Red Zone Birthday, JstJ and Musto having fun, etc...He is a treasure and a master for certain

I was looking for videos on the death of Angel Melendez and the videos of the Club kids came up. Also Nelson's video to McDonald's on the road and I was hooked

As I said in the other video it was them visiting the art gallery and encountering those horrible homophobes. All of his videos are so poignant Nelson recording a New York that doesn't exist anymore, the almost mythical era of the 1980s. Recording people with hopes and dreams. Would have been nice to have seen him record the 90's he had such high hopes.
