Sir . Continental crust is typically 40 km (25 miles) thick, while oceanic crust is much thinner, averaging about 6 km (4 miles) in thickness. The effect of the different densities of lithospheric rock can be seen in the different average elevations of continental and oceanic crust.

Lack of conduction of heat from mantle to outer surface due to thickness of continental crust causing accumulation of heat inside and breaking continental plates apart to release heat energy may be the reason of continent-continent divergent.

Sir, We know that the earth crust temperature is due to presence of mental and core inside the earth. We also know that heat transmission occurs from high temperature to low temperature. Then, why ocean and sea do not absorb heat from mental and become warm despite of oceanic crust are near to the mental ?? 🤔🤔🤔

It had in the past (drass arc volcano). Now it has reached a stage of development called double thickening of continents where eruption reaching surface is difficult. Although we find hot springs at many places leh,Kistwar, Himachal..

There would be no life on earth if planet have single tectonic plate
@SantoshKumar-yz4il
@SantoshKumar-yz4il 3 года назад
how? in my opinion ,we are a single plate already attached to same roots on planetary scale. Plates are cracked upper brritle parts only & all show relative,integrated, dependent tectonic movements in a near closed system.

@SantoshKumar-yz4il
@SantoshKumar-yz4il 3 года назад
@@VALAR_Morgulis. it is all about spatio-temporal extant of an event what if asthenosphere itself have supplies from outercore like in mantle plumes case. You are also right if seen from human affecting regional scale. The landform features , geomagmatically differentiated compositions which we see is just MAYA on planetary scale.
