Love ur stuff, do you think u could continued factions compared? I personally think it should be a best of 7 episodes and only features 2 Factions Ex: CIS vs Empire best of 7 episodes if it is 2 much, then do wat u have planned
At 7:05 you say that a ship cannot jump through another without disastrous consequences. If that is true then what makes that situation and the one in the Last Jedi different?
This is star wars we are talking about. Everyone has at least 730 war assets or more just sitting in their docks. We get surprise fleet appearances all the time. My fleet, the interion rectumus, can be extracted from the harassaloth nebula whenever I see fit.
NOTIFICATION SQUAD ROLLING IN!! #AskEck What do you think of the lowest levels of the underworld? What do you think is down there and do you think we will see it?
I allways assumed (if we are talking courisant) that it was a space station or ring world built by the rakatta. As it built up, it collapsed, forming a pseduo-planet. They then built up arround that. The constructions collapse, then eventually you have a city planet with levels dug into the collapsed machinery and station debris.
That is a cool theory, except that Legends materials mentioned the few lakes and natural parks left untouched by the city as well as a mountain and the planet has tectonic and thermal activity beneath it, not possible if it was artificial all the way through.
Orkimedes Yeah we are talking coruscant. But I’m talking about what beasts or old temples are down there. It is said to be uninhabitable but you never know with Star Wars and I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a mutated beast species or old artifacts down there.
#AskEck I noticed that the GR-75s had a modification where they could jam sensors of enemy starships. could this be the reason why GR-75s were so often used within the rebel navy despite their inherit weak firepower, as a way make imperial targetting attempts of rebel ships far more difficult to do giving rebel ships a better survivability chance?
Oh yeah, that makes sense. I guess I hadn't noticed that the Profundity and the other big ships were still in formation. Thanks for answering anyways! #askeck I have another question about Rouge One. Right before Gold Squadron disables the one of the Star Destroyers with ion torpedoes Gold Leader says "Hit that opening!" Was he referring to an opening in the shields, or maybe an opening in the Imperial fighter screen? If it was the shields, does that mean that shields in Star Wars get holes in them if generators are damaged/destroyed?
How did Palpatine get the funds to create secret navies of thousands of ships? In the Clone Wars, the Senate struggled to fund just a few million more clone troopers, and they had the entire Republic federal budget to work with. A private firm funding thousands of warships, all while building them in secret (thus increasing their cost substantially) makes no sense.
In the book The Old Republic Annihilation ships that tried to escape took power from their shields to their hyperdrive which was a mistake because they were easily destroyed before they escaped
Unquestionably the phaser. It's the most precise/accurate and has highly variable power settings, from stun to vaporise. It only falls behind in perhaps charge held and undoubtedly maintenance, but that isn't enough to dethrone it.
To recap: A shadowy private business magnate (and secret Sith Lord) fronts the cash to pay for an entire army and starfleet. Neither the Jedi nor the Senate seem to question how odd this is, since even if Sifo-Dyas really started the project he would have needed a financial backer since the Jedi aren't supposed to have personal fortunes. What's more, nobody seems to notice that the aforementioned army and fleet were conveniently ready for deployment at the *exact* time that Chancellor Palpatine was voted emergency powers allowing him to create a Republic military. The Jedi were the *worst* detectives! Also, this is like a testament as to why libertarianism is bad. The Trade Federation started all of this by using a private army to conquer Naboo. Then some mysterious individual (Darth Plagueis) buys an even bigger army and fleet and, again, the Republic had *no* idea it was going on! It's frankly astonishing that the Republic hadn't collapsed into fiefdoms ruled by individuals with the money to fund private militaries!
Well, you could add to that, that Obi-Wan found out on Kamino thatJango Fett was hired by a man named Tyranus to donate his DNA to the Kaminoans. Later, in the clone wars animated series, Obi-Wan finds out that Dooku is Darth Tyranus but doesn't question why the enemy has buildt an army for the republic.
Yeah I mean that transformation was already on its way, I think without the influence of the Sith the republic would have collapsed like that (if you’ve ever read the Isaac Asimov series the Foundation this is basically what occurred) but people like Count Dooku and Palpatine were able to hold the corrupt leaders together out of fear long enough to build a stronger empire
Not sure how that applies to libertarianism since their policies were anything but libertarian during that period, but whatever. The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.
Jacob Faro Well because the Republic didn’t shut down the trade federations or put sanctions on them, even though it was obvious they were becoming a danger to member planets (Blockade of Naboo) so yes, their policy towards the Trade Federation was very laissez-faire
I have question. Did citizens of CSS planets even wanted be independent from Republic before Clone Wars? I understand that corporations wanted independence, but what about people? What thay think about Independence before and during Clone Wars
Robert S. you should watch the awesome Clone Wars series. Yes, they wanted independence but were clearly manipulated the whole way through. I actually think the the CIS is a better faction if it weren’t for the obvious Sith and Corp. influences
Robert S. Yes, many many MANY civilians and planets that would end up being part of the CIS wanted independence. This was due to a political faction within the senate comprised of the core worlds heavily taxing and interrupting trade, commerce, and development among the worlds in the expansion region, mid rim, and outer rim. Basically, the core worlds prospered and were the rich ruling class planets, while outer rim planets were poor agricultural planets that were severely taxed and sanctioned by the republic. In addition to this, the amount of corruption within the senate right before the clone wars was extremely high.
The next episode sounds amazing. I was always wondering what would happen #Askeck What is that ship that just avoided the Devastator in Rouge One? I don't recognize it and it looks quite cool
Were Republic starfighters (V-19 Torrent, Y-wing, V-wing, ARC-170) built in secret or overtly? Notice that the Republic didn't have starfighters to support the clone army at Geonosis.
#AskEck Why are there no moveable turrets/turbolasers used on a captial ship? I mean like attach them to a rail system and move them to the side of the ship where needed. Also thanks for you're Videos they are always great 😍
That system would be main target for fighter's and bombers, what would you do if yoi had most of you're guns on one side, and then fighters destroyed rails, and you are defendless from other side? Fixed position of a gun is much better, and simple.
That's an interesting idea though. What if you used electromagnetic systems to reposition the turrets or even just put maneuvering thrusters on them to let them mover around the hull. That could work really well especially since existing designs only have the ability to bring some of their guns to bear at any one time
Sounds like an engineering nightmare to me. You'd need double the power feeds, Tibanna Gas lines/munitions hoists, targeting systems etc on each side of the ship. Plus you'd need to cut large holes in the longitudinal bulkheads for hatches to move the guns laterally meaning you will compromise the compartmentalization of the ship; that's assuming the guns are mounted inside the hull, if they are mounted externally to the hull then between the gun mounts you can't mount anything like other guns, sensors, shield generators because it would get in the way of the rails needed to move your guns meaning you would get fewer guns in total.
@@williammagoffin9324 Why not just have the guns as semi autonomous platforms that can detach from the ship to fire and maneuver for a reasonable amount of time and then dock again to recharge and stow for transit? There is no reason the ship has to be physically connected to the guns to make them work and no reason the detached gun platforms couldn't be designed to operate independently in case the ship is damaged to the point of incapacitation. It is space after all so you would have antigravity tech to work with already so it's not like it needs any radical new technology to work.
Actually that is sorta similat to how the Turbolasers work on Hapan ships to make up for their slow rate of fire (even compared to the turbolasers of other ships) they are "Caroselled" around the rim of each dish.
@@evanjperry2 Well design wise I would call Harrover supperior - point defence placements is decent, long range firepower would outclass VSD at same tech level. and has more fighter capacity then VSD (and the hangar placement is brilliance itself for Harrower since both the superstructure of the "forward wings" and shield generator allow fighters to safely fan up, down or forward while accelerating protected by rayshielding...
@@Paerigos if we take them as they existed then the victory-class would dominate without question. However if like you say we advance the harrower in technology or just built one from the ground up during the clone Wars then yes I think it would be safe to say the harrower would win. Personally I don't like doing that though, because that raises questions as to how come we don't wrap up the Imperial Star Destroyer Shields when combating the mon calamari cruiser which are vastly technologically Superior even though they're from the same age. I prefer to take them as they are. Like with the case of the hammerhead class Corvette. That vehicle is old as shit but it can still put up a good fight and win over some of the modern class frigates.
#AskEck Did people realise after the rise of the Empire that they were played? Maybe not the being in the street but govt and canny individuals. And did they know that Palps was a Sith?
So I'm a huge trekkie. Going to warp in trek is just a matter of hitting a few buttons and jumping g to warp. In star wars, you can't just jump to light speed with out the formation of a hyperlane? I know you've mentioned th3 formation of hyperlanes. It just kinda confused me.
Can the UNSC and the Covenant survive and beat the Angel Zeruel from Evangelion on Earth when the Covenant first attacked? Zeruel appears out of nowhere in this and is laying waste to everything and everyone that it sees and gets in it's way while trying to look for Lilith on this version of Earth to start the next Impact
#askeck hello so from what you said about how hyper space works is similar to x3 and that series about how a very certain place is used to jump. It is a good visual reference if so Best regards From Caleb
Wait a second, you are telling me that Syfo Dias and Plagueis had enough money to fund an almost galaxy wide navy AND army? There is no way Plagueis had that much money, the Republic as a whole struggled to maintain, reinforce and expand it's forces during the clone wars
@@thorshammer7883 I am sorry for your loss. You could be a man like I am and search through dozens of videos and look at each of the comments individually and count them that way (I know I had to do that when I accidentally made my number of attempts on the Blacklight Virus vs The Flood 1 attempt too many). But if not, then Major Oof. Do you remember which video you got to 100 on?
@@thorshammer7883 Damn, that's a lot. Well, if you do choose to go on the long journey of counting all of those videos, then I wish you good luck on it.
#AskEck So how can hyperspace lane travel be safe if simply by exiting the lanes larger ships can collide with smaller ships ? Must have been a MAJOR issue at hyperspace hubs !
#AskEck If KDY is owner of Rothana Heavy and KDY is owned by Trade Federation, how they make secret from CIS they develop and deliver the fleet and armored ground forces to Republic? :D
#askeck Did the people of the republic know that the jedi supposedly contracted the republic military without the senates consent? If not were they suspicious of the army that seemingly just appeared out of nowhere?
why is it that the "holdo maneuver" worked, but this scene you showed at the end of your video here caused the fleeing rebels to fail their hyperspace maneuver?
Why did Palpatine order the attack on kamino if he wanted to use the clones as the bases of the army and navy of the empire. This always confused me. And it would be nice if you made a video to answer this question
SkyNet vs The Flood 250th Attempt Scenario: SkyNet beats the resistance, and then a Flood scout ship crash-lands on Earth, the Flood form inside does not survive, SkyNet retrieves the body and studies it, and learns the basics of it (it is infectious, has some sort of hive mind, and can take memories), SkyNet salvages the ship for whatever is left, and manages to decode transmissions from the Flood, alerting them of the Flood threat coming to Earth, SkyNet then prepares for the next 5 years, The Flood will arrive using multiple High Charity's, including it's fleets, weapons, and so on, in Scenario 1a it gets 5 High Charity's, in Scenario 1b it gets 10 High Charity's, and in Scenario 1c it gets 20 High Charities, The Flood may not use the Logic Plague on SkyNet, SkyNet may not travel back in time and just constantly give pre-Flood War SkyNet better and better stuff and information, If SkyNet can survive until Scenario 1c then I personally say that it would win, although if that is not enough each scenario could in fact be a wave that SkyNet has to destroy, which would make 35 High Charity's in total, and each wave would come a week after the wave before it was totally destroyed, giving SkyNet the chance to regroup and analyze whatever data it received from the battle, whether it be more efficient ways to kill Flood Forms or even gathering and using/reverse engineering Covenant Technology for its own use,
One template is cheaper, standsrized and predictable. Even though Jango died there were still samples of his DNA stored. This last bit is critical in the fighting over Tipoca city on Kamino
Stephen Lutz They did try cloning Falcon Grey but cloning Jedi is really hard and only two (seemingly) perfect clones survived and one succumbed to clone psychosis after serving the Empire for a few years.
L0L L0L L7L The story of Falcon Grey and the force sensitive clones are not considered Canon, nor legends. It was a story that really didn’t make too much sense, because the Jedi would never allow the force to be cloned. It was against their religion. They considered it unatural. It makes sense Vader did it in the force unleashed because he’s a sigh lord.
Cuz many did not had expiriance, could die on battlefield, it destroyed their reputation as peacfull order and made later propaganda easier, it exposed them to dark side. One's that i am aware of. Chciał ich udupić jak najbardziej się da
#Askeck how was the Jedi order/ academy funded. It seems odd for a government to fund such a group and I can’t imagine they survive off charity unless they throw one heck of a bake sale
#AskEck During the landing of the Invisible Hand in Revenge of The Sith, Palpatine keeps looking irritably at R2-D2. What was the point of this interaction? Was R2 aware of Palpatines true identity at this point, had Palpatine seen the future and saw how much of a menace this little mass murdering droid was, or was it just something for the actor to do during the scene?
Maybe it's because he's afraid he might die in a crash landing and there would be nothing he could do to stop it without causing suspicion, imagine him being the only survivor to a ship crash of that size?
I'll buy that the fleet was made in secret, but you can't tell me that billions of sentient beings didn't wonder where this fleet magically came from. Or where their loved ones, before the Empire was fully formed, went off to, to build thousands of ships, fighters, tanks etc. All that leaves a footprint.
Where did the millions of starship crews/engineers come from so quickly, were they all clones and if so, what was their template. How did Rothana keep it's workers paid with no one noticing and stop them from talking about the cool ships they were building, larger than any existing ships in the galaxy apart from the Lucrehulk, to their family and friends, or the press.
The Force is Strong in this Plot Convenience. The Sith Profit Lords, Darth Lucas and Darth Disney, cloud everything. One question. Yoda sensed the Dark Side of the Force clouding everything yet, the Jedi told no one because they weren't equipped to fight a war? A war they had to know was coming anyway. If they had moved on what they had sensed was brewing, they could have controlled the Senate before the Battle of Corosaunt, they might have stopped Sidious early on before Anakin, the Chosen One, could be turned. They knew Anakin was turning also and allowed that shit to go unchecked. The Jedi killed the Republic. Sidious just gave them the tools to do it.
#askeck what other clone armies did the Kaminoans make or did they only clone in danger of extinction species? Keep up the good work been watching for a long time and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.
In a 2005 PC game Star Wars: Battlefront II is a mission, in which Empire's 501st Legion raids Kamino in order to destroy a new-build renegade clone army, and if I got it correctly, this army was under the command of non-existent Republic, but I am not sure how cannonical this story is
I saw a video explaining the mass cloning facilities were payed by darth plagueis to make the clone army but before that they just made smaller clone jobs also all kaminoans were born from eugenetics cloning births so thats why all of them are cold hearted and calculator minded.(sorry if my eng is bad)
@@zbynekkowalski2202 Pretty sure the lore behind that raid was that the Kaminoans were sick of the Empire (once it was formed) forcing them to work and keep making clones, while the Empire never paid them. I think, anyways.
well yes thats kinda the whole point its a galaxy that has trillions of planets yet only around 100 main ones along the major hyper lane routes and allegedly around 50 million inhabited systems. Which sounds like a lot but considering the fact that there are probably 50 trillion planets it's very little. If you google a star wars universe map you'll also see there's a whole 30% of the galaxy called the unexplored regions.
For a planet to be known and able to be visited in SW, it must be near a hyperspace lane. This is why there are so many secret planets in SW that only people with a special map can find, because not all navigable hyper space lanes are published.
I personally believe that Rothana Heavy Engineering heavily produced everything needed for the Battle of Geonosis. But ships such as the Venator were built once & immediately sent to ‘secret storage’ in Kuat, or was labeled as a Display Piece like the Mandators were. Once the Clone Wars began, full scale production began as well.
Well in Legends they were absorbed into the GRA, as the Judicial Forces was regulated too a peacekeeper force and not built too fight a war on a grand scale anymore due too the long period of peace the republic has had. So there ships served in the Navy , while there army at least i think served in the Planetary defense. Not much is knowed about them during the clone wars.
I could be 100% wrong about this, But I think I remember something about how KDY is basically the government of Kuat. So I think they *are* Kuat's senators.
epion660 no, you’re right. KDY grew so big that it basically became Kuat’s government. It also had a seat in the senate, until the empire came to power and “nationalized” KDY. Which means, KDY basically lost all agency, and was no longer a separate entity from the empire. The empire did this because they relied so heavily on KDY vessels, and this erased the debt and accounts payable they had to give to KDY.
3:38, encrypted coordinates? who needs that to hide a planet? you can get pretty accurate on where you are in a galaxy by just looking up to the stars. if you can listen to pulsars, that would be deadly accurate.
The encrypted coords would be more to prevent people from knowing where they're going, after all you don't exactly need coordinates to get where you are already. As to how they prevented those same people from figuring out where they were afterwards, who knows.
Jeferson Lucio Star Wars seems to operate on a “space is dangerous” rather than “space is empty”, so unless you have the relevant route map then hyperspace/FTL is something of a shot on the dark. You can probably aim in the right direction but without the specific approach vector you can end up getting caught in an unexpected gravity well or debris cloud (e.g. just because you know where a system is that doesn’t mean you know the real-time position, vector, angle and size of every major body within that system, risk bind system entries enough in a setting with such easy FTL and the odds of death by Oort Cloud become non trivial).
@@IRMentat 3:38, IMMentat "All travellers were given a set of encrypted coordinates such that finding the actual location of the planet itself was impossible." -- Doesn't make any sense. Think about location, and not how to get there. How to get there may be irrelevant, if your job initially is just whistle blowing. After that you can worry about how to get there. Don't be such a Jocasta Nu on Obi-Wan Kenobi. ;-)
@@jefersonnl Not an expert on Star Wars lore by any means, but the solution is probably in the security measures used to keep it secret. First, you only learn about it if you have a NEED to know. Second, anyone high enough in the organization who has a NEED to know would probably have "proven" their, uh loyalty?, already and would not have blown the whistle. Third, any visitors would probably be watched very heavily. Fourth, people living on the planet are probably not allowed to just pack up and move somewhere else. Not to mention people living on planet could have their entire livelyhood destroyed if discovered, and potentially have members of their family be arrested and put into prison. There are probably many other measures you can put into place. The guard fleet might be built with no hyperdrives to prevent a ship from going rogue. Not to mention you would have to convince The Senate or Jedi that a secret fleet is being built somewhere in wild space. If they don't believe you then good luck trying to shut it down. Hell, you could probably intentionally spread rumors about secret shipyards and then "prove" them false so no one pays much attention to the rumors in the first place. Plus the Senate and the Jedi probably have their hands full already investigating "real" crimes, trade disputes, and other conflicts. To sum it up, security would be real tight, unless you had the route there, you would not be able to easily convince people to spend millions of credits trying to find the route on what could be the word of some deranged individual that their is a build up of a massive military force in the middle of no where. And at the end of the day, with proper security and surveillance, finding the location, let alone route, could potentially be extremely difficult. Let's not even talk about certain MegaCorps, or Sith Lords, or Crime Syndicates shutting you up with a good ole blaster to the face, or a saber to your... Uh face. Or you accidentally fell on Courscant. I mean are there ANY guardrails there? Edit: Oh and even if you convinced some Senator or Jedi that your telling the truth AND are not crazy, dodge the assassins, and somehow don't accidentally die? You still have to not get killed by the guard fleet, along with your Jedi and or Senator witness.
@@Matthew-li7we Please don't be so religious about scifi, it is, as religions are, full of inconsistencies, plot holes and cherry picking. "All travellers were given a set of encrypted coordinates such that finding the actual location of the planet itself was impossible." -- Still doesn't make any sense and it still will forever not make. A better script would have included "All recording devices, electronic sensor arrays and droids had to have their memories and logs wipped. Any personal gadget or technological appendages were confiscated.". About convincing the senate or any jedi to investigate, it is a pure matter of speculation how it would work out. In Star Wars, senators are corrupt or not, crime sindicates are too active or not, bounty hunters are chasing you or not, and the jedi are willing to get to the bottom of a plot or not. Everything depends on the story/tale, and the elements are there to serve it. Sometimes it takes only one jedi to change the future of the whole galaxy, as we've seen so far with Syfo Dias. And about this plot "super-security" thing, Kenobi found Camino after all, did he not? Even after Jocasta Nu turned him down. Shouldn't Camino be out of limits? Should not the security on the planet and its surroundings be tighter? Obi-Wan arrives, lands, and walks inside with no oposition, nobody even cares to check his credentials, and then, most ridiculous of all, he actually gets to meet Jango Fet and talk to him, learning how he was recruited, and get a name of a Sith Lord (though few people knew Tyranus was Dooku). And that is it my friend, no more time for Star Wars fancy theories, specially the ones on the boundaries of common sense, I have to work, that puts food on the table and buy my comic books, not RU-vid.
But how was the fleet and the army funded? It should cost an incredible amount of credits to build all those ships, clones and equiptment. Definitely on a scale that surpasses any amount of wealth of even the biggest corporations. Even much move than the richest planets or any faction smaller than the republic would be able to afford. The money must have come fom the republic. But why didn't anyone notice?
#AskEck What if the CIS jumped the gun and started the war before the clones and ships were ready? Say a hothead faction decide to go straight for Coruscant without informing Dooku of their plans. Was there any other group that had the firepower to take on the Republic before it militarized, like say the Hutts combined?
The TEC loyalist one for me, it could take a huge amount of punishment. Good for distracting enemy fleets while your own fleets are used to harassed the enemy's unprotected worlds.
I think the in-gamee answer is objectively the TEC rebels, since it could effectively one-shot entire fleets and most other titans. Lore wise... Probably still them actually.
I have always asked myself: Why is the LIVING HELL would those stormtroopers come down in such fragile landing ships if the Cruiser could clearly just land without taking any damage
Have you done a video about how the Trade Federation become a major military power while inside the Republic (at Naboo for example) and outside when it joined the CIS? Also how about the the formation of the CIS? I know you've done one about the legality of leaving the Republic but what about how the CIS actually sprang up with a size to challenge the Republic?
