Thanks! It is slow but sure progress, but it is progress. While the weather is conducive I’m trying to do as much as possible. I’m guessing eventually we’ll get snow again (or more mud) and I’ll have to stop for a time. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment!!

My experience with clearing brush is mainly using chainsaws, axes, and my little bulldozer to clear out cedar trees. I started on one end of the farm and slowly worked my way towards the other end and also kept telling myself that I was "buying" land with every tree I cut down. That was about 7-8 years ago and I need to start the process all over again before the little cedar trees turn into big cedar trees and it costs more to "buy" that land again.

Those invasive species are the toughest. For years I gave cut down these invasive honeysuckle, but then the just shoot out 10 times as mine and it is even worse! I know I’ll have to keep on it because even if I could completely clear my place it is right on the other side I’d the fence!

Land clearing, take the hole dam thing and fence it and put in 20 pigs. I am doing 12 acres this way right now. Then take them to the sale when you're done. They work for free.

They do a pretty good job and that is my plan … first I need to get this fence line cleared so I can get a decent fence in (there is a row crop field 20 yards away). The honeysuckle brush is my nemesis! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!

Hi great video! On my farm I've cleaned similar land by fencing off one acer at a time and let the animals (sheep/goats/pigs) do all the hard work, its amazing whats actually left to deal with after there done .

We’ve done the same thing here (and that is the plan with this spot too). I just really want to get the fence line cleared because it’s on a property line and the neighbor raises row crops … I don’t want my livestock in there! Also, the pigs/cattle/sheep aren’t that effective on the big shrubby woody stuff on our farm, but once they been through it will make it easier to clear out the interior! Hello. It makes sense to utilize what you already own. As for clearing the ground, i would go around the whole perimeter 30 ft wide to get a permanent fence up. Your skid loader and your chainsaw are your best tools for the job. For your ravine, have you ever considered slowing the water down with some buffer strips or stones? Take care Rob

A 30 ft. clearing around the fence is a great idea! I’m planning on contacting the neighboring land owner to see if I can clear their side where possible too. I am trying to figure out what to do with the erosion for sure and I hope to get someone out here to make a plan with me. I’m going to need ideas on that for sure!
