Huge shout out to you for posting this. I'm an architect too and I'm one year away from graduating, and like Rachel I'm also shifting to tech. Currently studying for my SA Pro. Highly motivated after seeing this 🙌
Me too. I have a masters in architecture in construction. And now I am into tech working at an intermediate level and looking to gain skills at 34. Never too late.
Got my cloud practitioner and Solution Architect Associate, and Solution Architect Pro in 3 weeks. Use the practice exams, you don’t really need to know this stuff 😂😂😅
This is awesome! I'm a mine geologist and am interested in making a transition to this job role. Thanks for featuring this story! All of your videos have been great so far--thank you!!
If you happen to get hired is still not a good idea. Amazon = limited career advancement opportunities, high competition for job openings, and a rapidly evolving technology landscape requiring continuous upskilling. Managers are frugal (Cheap) Also they don't take feedback. just mho.
I work as system analyst in Cobol/Mainframe and I want to learn and gain experience in cloud but with no cloud experience how could I begin? What would you suggest?
Hi Lucy/Rachel, I am interested to know if the majority of people who come into AWS have a degree background? I am trained up to level 4 (HNC) as a civil engineer, but thinking of moving over to tech, does this sound plausible to you?
Do I need to get a degree in anything computer science. I’m making a transition from medical field to IT I’ve been learning python already and other stuff from previously pursuing data analyst and UI/UX developer?
@@TechwithLucy thanks A lot I appreciate it. I’m currently going through and taking notes on all the free services on AWS you linked!!! I’m excited to where my cloud journey will take me if I can overcome the initial learning curve!!!!
Hi! I understand that the SA does not write code for the clients. My questions is does the AWS SA performs technical solutions frequently or is the role more towards project management in the sense there is lots of clients alignment meetings?
Im currently in IT and just pass my AWS Practioner Exam last week, studying for AWS Solution Architect Exam to take in 4weeks. hoping to make transition into Solution Architect role, this video helps
@@elijahmay3210 I took my AWS Solution Architect exam yesterday and failed with 694. Need to do more studying. I'm disappointed but hopeful that I am moving in the right direction
A sa is basically a business/salesman you'll speak to higher ups about what would be best for their business and the engineers are the ones that actually build/fix.
Hi, your videos have been very helpful, as I am concerning switching my career firm health care to cloud. I am a working parent and was wondering if most cloud practitioner and solutions architect jobs are remote or are they now being requested to come back to the office since COVID has been going down?
Real world requirments : Background in any of the following: Cloud Architecture, Systems Design, Software Development, Infrastructure Architecture, Data Engineering or DevOps. Technical Degree (Computer Science, Maths, Engineering or equivalent) and/or relevant tech experience. What are you talking about in this video?! 😂😂😂
Thank you ladies! I am currently taking up Organizational Psychology. I am also enrolled in solutions architecture certification and training on AWS site. ❤
I'm currently working in IT as a networking admin, but would like to transition to become an AWS SA. I'm currently enrolled in "Solutions Architect Learning Plan", but aren't sure if this is where i should "begin". Do you think this is the right step? let me know!
awesome video i am from India my father only manages to earn10000 dollars in a year please mentor me miss Lucy and tell me how to become a A successfull cloud architect and free resources available that will help me
Hi Lucy, I am very intrested in getting certified as an SA. Does this role require coding, I'm not sure you specifically mentioned that in the video. If yes, what coding language should someone interested in this career path learn? Thank you.
To have approved a stupid exam does not mean that you are a real architect. It only means you have approved the exam, nothing more. By the way, a simple and very basic in difficulty exam..
Hi lucy. I have passed aws cloud practitioner cert. Shall i get any jobs with this certification before getting into solution architect associate exam?
I'm doing the exact same thing. I just graduated with my bachelors in architecture but have come to the conclusion that it may not be for me. I'm interested in transitioning into AWS as a solution architect instead, but I've been hearing so many different ways, do's and don'ts on how to start that i feel like i still have no real foothold on how to start.
Hello. I really appreciate this discussion. It's quite insightful. Am quite interested in becoming a SA. Am currently a cloud support engineer. How do I fully transition to a SA? Are there other requirements from AWS for one to become an SA with AWS?
If you like to become one, there is another route by being a cloud engineer first. You can broaden your arch design options. Move one up from support/helpdesk role
The ability to converse comfortably with c-suite executives is a large gap in my skill-set. I have one pro cert and I'm working on the second so I'm somewhat there from a technical stance (I still have lots to learn). How long did it take you to get comfortable talking to customers and helping shape their opinions?
AWS still has the hiring freeze going on - normally there would be “Associate Solutions Architect” positions that are more entry-level. Hopefully those positions open up soon
@@harishsharma2924 shit man thats tough af. Im about to graduate and want to get into cloud. And have no freaking idea about it. At amazons site they say u need programming language or scripting...and what not
