We are not big-time cruisers, but have decided to go on MSC yacht club based on TTT videos. We are going to book an interior room and keep fingers crossed for the upgrade to the balcony. It sounds like Joseph’s experience, this is hopefully a high probability. Do you have suggestions about which rooms in general to book - which floor is best or the nuances of each, which side of the ship right or left which side is the side that docs at the island), etc.? or is there a site that would provide that information for us? Thank you very much for your happy positive attitudes and presentation.

That’s awesome! You will have such a wonderful experience in YC!! As far as location of the room, right side of the ship will face Ocean Cay (most of the time). We love being on the same floor as the YC lounge… in just a few steps, we can grab a coffee or one of their wonderful canapés they have throughout the day or simply sit down and relax and listen to some Music. The lounge is located on different floors depending on the ship, so check out the deck plan for the ship you’re sailing. Have a wonderful holiday… and let us know of your adventures onboard! 😊🤩😊

@Taste-Try-Travel We only got one Mail. They only offered us Aurea. We are fine with Aurea. We cruised in July with the World Europa with Aurea and that was great. We will wait and see what will happen. Thank you for your Videos ...

Well hi Marlene. Sorry sometimes I’m not super detailed even when I think I am. Yes we booked less than 90 days so had to pay in full. No options to upgrade will be sent out until reservation is paid in full. If you get an upgrade email, it will come directly to you and the email you provided when you booked and/or the email connected with your loyalty status. . You will not miss it when you book with a TA. Crossing our fingers you get a bid option and are successful ❤️❤️❤️❤️

@@jdavid2003 hi so let me see if I can fill in the blanks… We booked and paid in full about 80 days out. You have to be paid in full if you are 90 days from cruise or sooner. We originally booked a balcony guarantee. When I talk money they are rounded numbers and for both Chris and I, including tax and port but never gratuity. Then two weeks ago I paid $520 or so for both of us to upgrade from the balcony guarantee to an Aurea balcony with an actual cabin number. This was straight out and not a bid situation. That night I received the email to bid to several higher suites or YC. Because I was already at an Aura level balcony… it was an average price of $560 per person to upgrade to a YC interior. We put in for that and it was accepted yesterday morning. I hope that answered your questions but if not, let me know. Happy to give as much info as needed to be of help.

Thanks - to upgrade from guaranteed balcony to Aurea Balcony, is that a phone call to MSC, or done online? Also, I thought starting July 1 that are adding gratuity/hotel service charge upfront?

@@jdavid2003 my travel agent helped with changing my category from balcony guarantee to the Aurea balcony cabin. The new law that passed “no surprise law or honest pricing law” will include tax and port fees but not gratuity. You will still have to pay that.

@@JosephDickersonUX hey there. This is not uncommon for MSC. The agent was incorrect… if you got the upgrade to YC, you get YC benefits… period. It does take a bit for their system to update itself. Mine sayid YC cabin with Aurea experience for almost a week and then I got an email where it was all correct. Please don’t worry. You got in… YAY!!! MSC has never been known for their great computer system or smart customer service agents.

@@eddieorivera2011 hi Eddie… I’ll have to look further into it. Just now I pulled up some Caribbean cruises this fall and it gives two options… cruise only and the other is just adding drinks. No wifi in that second package. MSC must be making some changes. I’ll respond back when I know more. Beth

You will not get your Easy Plus funds back but you will get the Premium Beverage and Premium WIFI as part of your Yacht Club experience. If you had not originally purchased the Easy Plus package, you minimum bid to upgrade would have been higher

@@leahcramer8191 so if you book the rate that includes the drink package and wifi from the start… no the drink package is built into the rate and cannot be refunded. We planned on at least trying to upgrade to YC where drinks are included so we booked basic rate. Then we added a drink package. Once we won our bid to YC we were able to request a refund for the drink package.

@@michaelgore115 good morning Michael! We are boarding Seascape YC today so will have some in depth videos coming out soon about this class. We do have a series on Meraviglia YC that will give you some good visuals of that Class. MSC began in the Med so those are great itineraries but very port heavy. Norwegian Fjords are beyond beautiful. Because the YC is all at the front of the ship, honestly we haven’t come across a bad cabin. We like to be on the decks with either the restaurant or lounge just to be ridiculously close to food 😂😂😂😂 The upside of booking YC directly is you can pick your cabin. If you go the bidding route like we do, you just get what they give you. Tune in to some great videos coming out soon 😁😁😁
