The value here is insane, especially considering there's a plate loaded option. I think this is going to be one of the more popular attachments once it launches!

The negative is that it's not as much capacity as the Ares

Why don't you ever show any videos of Ares or Athena on an 80 inch rack? It would be good to see what this looks like on the shorter rack as many of us have this. Wondering if it even works with the shorter height and the top taken up by the cross members that need to be bolted on.

As someone limited by space constraints, the Athena definitely fits the bill of adding more functionality with minimal compromise in space. I plan to use the Gympin D handle bar to combine the front attachment points to double the weight for low rows/lat pull down.

Looking super forward to it to be honest. So much customizability. It's honestly a situation where I will likely end up with 1 stack and one plate loaded due to space limitations. Super cool stuff. Keep doing what you do rep.

Oh damn. I just bought a pr4000 with the selectorizer lat down. I wanted to get the dual sides too but wasn't sure how or if that that was compatible (even with the 6 post). Advice: On your website you have this cool feature where you can build your rack from scratch and add attachments and such, however you should add the options to add the lat pull downs and dual pulleys too. This would've been helpful to me to know if it works

The Ares was perfect for me. Dual Athena sectorized and sectorized lat pulldown would be even better, but has more costs and a slightly larger footprint, plus I do get more weight on the front pulleys with Ares. Also, you put Ares for the 11 second point instead of Athena.
@avinashtyagi2
@avinashtyagi2 Год назад
Athena has less max weight than Ares
@markhalstead2386
@markhalstead2386 Год назад
@@avinashtyagi2 That is correct and what I wrote about front pulleys. The lat pull-down and low row weight is only different by 10 pounds. Ares 620 lb is 310 pounds due to 2:1 ratio and the sectorized lat pull-down is 300 pounds due to 1:1 ratio.

Can you choose not to install the band pegs, particularly the bottom ones? The 4” or so for each peg on the inside of my rack won’t allow me to store my tower and bench inside my rack when I’m not using it. Hoping the band peg portion is optional to install, and possibly able to add back on later.
@dillonwilkins7825
@dillonwilkins7825 Год назад
The top ones are apart of the Athena so they have to stay but they don’t seem to stick out as much as the bottom. If you have extra bolts from your rack assembly you could just use one in place of the peg or you would just have to go buy a bolt and nut for it.

Rep I have a question- Are the weight stack plates used on the Athena and a Selectorized lat low row the same plates that are on the Ares?
@cdi9380
@cdi9380 Год назад
Adding additional crossmembers and uprights to be able to support weight horn storage is defeating the purpose of creating a smaller footprint and lowering the cost with the plate loaded version. Plus. Nobody wants to use a weight tree or mount their stuff to the wall if they already have the horns lol. The only realistic option would be to get the selectorized version on both sides.

@Rep Fitness can you please show us ideal setup for Athena along with iso arms? Is there any way we can setup we can use both without having to remove iso arms?
@REPfitness
@REPfitness Год назад
The best way is to have the trolleys go above the ISO Arms. This would limit just the lowest position for the trolleys and the highest for the iso arms. But it's workable.

@dillonwilkins7825
@dillonwilkins7825 Год назад
Yes all you have to do is move the pin to the inside. Same goes for the weight markings which you actually have to stick on yourself so you would just need to put those on the inside with the pin.
@ChrisP3000x
@ChrisP3000x Год назад
@@dillonwilkins7825 I can't come in from either side on any of my other selectorized gear. Are you claiming to know this for a fact?
@dillonwilkins7825
@dillonwilkins7825 Год назад
@@ChrisP3000x I don't want to tell you this is a fact and you make a high dollar purchase and it is not correct but I assembled left and right on a pr4000 6 post early this week and that is the case for me. The holes go all the way through the weight plates and the ring that attaches the pin cord is in the center at the top so you just move the pin to the inside. Like you are saying it is much more convenient that way.

Question : Why does adding a Selectorized Lat Low row to the back of a 4 Post PR5000 rack with the Athena add 19.5 inches ? And only 9 inches on a 6 post rack ? Where is the extra depth on the 4 post rack coming from ? Your using a 2.0 RBS so shouldn’t the added depth on a 6 and 4 post rack be the same ?
@mjr2471
@mjr2471 Год назад
I think this is because in a 6 post rack, you’re mounting the RBS to the middle posts (out of 6) whereas in the 4 post, they’re mounting them to the back on the 4 posts. Seems like in a 4 post config, you could mount it either to the front or the back if you wanted though

what if I have a 6 post PR4000 rack config, but the front 4 post are 93", while the rear 2 are 80" (just a weird room setup I have that has height restrictions on the back). Any chance I could make Athena work by feeding the top cable that runs horizontally through the holes in the front posts vs running it on top of the rack?
