Inspiring video. We have been doing nature journalling for 6 years, since my daughter was 3. It's so neat to look back through them, and even better when pages are dated and labeled. It is so easy to put other studies and activities before nature journalling and yet it is so beneficial and worthwhile. Thanks for sharing.
It really is so rewarding. We have been doing nature journaling since my oldest was little too - though it looked different then! I really enjoy making my own journal as well, and being able to look back on it. Thanks for sharing!
As the publishers of CM-inspired curriculum for almost 30 years, we're always excited to see how others use the CM methods in their own homeschools. Thanks for sharing with us!
This was so peaceful to watch and listen to! I have been homeschooling my boys for several years now but am just now starting Nature journaling with them! This was so helpful! 💜 I hope you will make more of these!
My paints are Winsor & Newton - this set was a gift many years ago so I am not sure exactly what it is called. But there are many Winsor & Newton sets that I have seen at amazon, Blick's, and Michaels. I am sure any store that has art supplies will sell them. The kids had Primo watercolor sets that I liked, but I haven't been able to find them recently. I just get them simple watercolor sets from amazon or a craft store. Each one lasts us around 2 years. I hope that helps!
Beautiful video, thank you! I appreciate seeing your entire lesson. We are excited to get started! And I hadn't heard of Herb Faries, but I'm definitely looking into it! Thank you. :)
I've started collecting The Handbook of Nature - in Colour. It's recently been reprinted in colour and separated into about 8 different books so that it's more transportable into nature. I also got the lovely picture book biography on Anna Comstock "Out of School and into Nature - the Anna Comstock story".
Beautiful video. So peaceful. I thought I was nature journaling because I was so at peace too. I’m wondering if you can link what is on the table that the children use to do their art and protect the table from their mishaps. The cardboard or wooden boards?
Thank you! They are wooden painting boards and I love them! I got them from nova naturals - www.novanatural.com/painting-board - it looks like they are out of stock there now, but hopefully they will return and you might be able to find them at another waldorf retailer.
Thank you! The watercolors she uses are the Primo 24 Color Mixing Palette. amzn.to/3gGt8Za (affiliate link). I really like it for the kids. My son has been using their smaller one and I am about ready to get him the 24 color version.
I saw that you shared your daughter's watercolor palette. Would you be willing to share which palette you use as well? I'm new to nature journaling, and I'm trying to figure out some good quality materials to buy! I don't even know where to start!
Hi. Sorry for the delay in response. I use an old Winsor & Newton pan set. It was gifted to me in high school, so unfortunately I don't know exactly what it is or where they got it, but I think it's a common brand that they carry at most art stores. I am actually due for a new one as some of my colors are getting low!
