These are all great tips! Especially making it fun and routine. I tend to forget how young my son is sometimes and get books that are slightly above his age range, but he does still love books that have textures in them or lift the flaps. Routine is going to be hard for me but I know it's important so I'll start working on something, starting small. I appreciate you!!
Generally we read three books first thing in the morning during breakfast and three books at night before bed. The other planned books are read at lunch and in the afternoon (around 2:30); during those times, we read about five books (we stop reading when the kids are done eating, and read the rest at 2:30 that we didn't get to at lunch time). The other books are read at random times throughout the day as the kids bring them to me to read for fun. This is what works for my family, but we definitely worked our way up to this routine. I would suggest maybe starting with one thing at a time, like bedtime for example. Then, when you feel really comfortable with that you can add another book time to your routine. Just a suggestion! I hope I was able to help!
