OOh lemme tellya what to do next time! I'm a city local. I'm constantly annoyed by some of the kinda generic things my city offers tourist and things that are a bad show, but I also could spend forever doing the really special things that have always been here and could use more tourist spotlight. As someone who lives here, I love that you started with St Lawrence Market. In the city proper, Toronto has some of the most diverse food, but, if you just want a wide variety in one place, this is the place to be. It's also a real urban planning success story. The community around it is mixed income and vibrant, allowing all a pretty normal life together and some chance at class mobility for lower income folks. If you come back, bike the wild natural beauty of The Leslie Street Spit, a peninsula built on construction waste that has been allowed to grow wild into a wildflower and bird watching bonanza. The Distillery District is also it's own world, an arts-shopping area in a well-preserved set of old beer-making factories that's full of interest from another time and arts from this one. Similar preservation and arts repurposing of old architecture exists in The Brickworks, but in a different feeling way and nestled into some beautiful nature that's great to walk and bike in. For a more gardened experience of Nature, go to the massive Edward's Gardens or the smaller Allen Gardens greenhouse. Also, Toronto has great turban graffiti tours. If you're an independent, art, local, or classic film buff the fare at the Tiff Bell Lightbox will enthuse you. Really, it's worth a visit just to see the lovely building! We also have opera, ballet, symphony and big-box musicals, but, as a local, I'm deeply hooked on our longstanding independent theatre scene. It cn be much more reasonably priced and is more focused on human talent and transmitting an interesting message than on slick entertainment spectacle. You can easily see something really unique that will stay with you for a long time and generate conversation. For a start in established awesomeness there's Tarragon theatre, CanStage, Soulpepper, Theatre Passe Muraille and Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. Also I'm discovering The Crow theatre. The Major Museums are the ROM, the AGO, but the smaller museums are at least as special -- the Aga Khan Museum, the ceramics museum, the textile museum, the Bata shoe museum --find these nooks if that your thing - small museums deserve more tourist love.

@@NatandMax Wow, Thanks. I spend so much time wringing my hands about some of the crazy things my city does that tourists must judge, but also wishing people would more often discover the things in it that aren't the standard tourist experience most often being pitched, but are unique here.

@@daielesign Regent Park Aquatic centre is a public swimming pool with some really fantastic architecture and I'd be there, if I had more time for fun. Regent Park is known as struggling with a reputation for poverty and crime, but that means there's been a lot of love given to revitalization and this is my vote for the best indoor swimming pool I know of. There's a large, gorgeous wooden roof over the main pool and a full length skylight, and just so much glass to let outdoor light flood the whole building. Part of this is brilliant co-ed change rooms where only the actual changing goes on in stalls and many walls are glass. This makes a beautiful-yet-effective way to deter theft, since the space where belongings are locked is never visually cut off from the pool. You see every kind of person there - It's a space for fun more than bathing suit primping and feels like the best comment on community services done right. So there's one more idea. Also, cultural and music festivals areal most constant in the summer and there's a neighborhood to explore for just about every culture here. Farmers markets, craft markets, walking tours and pub crawls . . . cafes that do art nights or pottery painting places, pub crawls, and poetry and music bars. There. More fun ideas.

GREAT personalities! 2:15 The Gooderham Flatiron building is actually 10 years older than the one in New York, and of a different style of course. The reason they were able to build such a "tall" building in 1892 was the invention of the elevator; the first elevator in Toronto was installed in the Flatiron Building, and it is still operable! have observed Toronto's rapid descent into Americana as it has absorbed US values: sprawling, car-driven, bland urban development; rapid growth of crime rates; glorification and proliferation of gun culture and gun violence; hustle culture and profiteering at the expense of others as the new norm; disintegration of the social fabric; various ethnic groups barely interacting with each other on anything apart from financial and economic matters; replacement of human connection with networking 24/7; rampant mental health issues.

I'm so sorry for Canada. Most things about a good Canada are not true, Including clean cities - beaches, and forests. It's a big lie. The first time I arrived in Vancouver in 2018, I was shocked. As soon as I left the airport door, I saw tissue, disposable glasses, and other garbage left in the city. The further I went, the more I saw them. Before I moved to Canada, I lived in Georgia, Armenia, Turkey, Serbia, The United States, and for a short time in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Netherlands, Germany, and England, but I have never seen the amount of garbage that people leave in different Canadian cities. Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec are no less than Vancouver. Canadian and Canada Governments don't care about this tragedy. I think everything that says about Canada as a clean and powerful culture is not true. You don't need to travel to Canada to see this. Just watch some videos about walking in downtown Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec. You will find the truth. Impossible for you to walk in a Canadian city and you don't see the dark side of that. Everywhere you will see garbage. You will never see this in Europe, Australia, the United States, Japan, and Korea. This amount of waste is not even seen in Malaysian, Indonesian, or Thailand cities. It is impossible for you to use public transport and not see a lot of garbage at stations or on the route. You will be surprised to find a lot of garbage even in the woods - by the rivers and on the beaches in Canada. I wish the Canadians woke up and had no enmity with their country. To be fair, I randomly looked at videos from downtown Manchester and Concord in New Hampshire - Philadelphia - Detroit - Chicago - New York - Baltimore - Denver - Nashville, and Knoxville in the United States, and Toronto - Quebec - Montreal - Winnipeg - Calgary - Vancouver - Victoria - Ottawa and Thunder Bay in Canada. we should be fair. The bitter truth must be accepted. Without any exaggeration. Completely impartial. I have to say that I didn't see a single piece of garbage in any of the US videos to convince myself. Without exaggeration, in all Canadian cities, there must have been a piece of garbage on the ground less than every hundred meters. It must have an important reason. I do not know. But this is a bitter truth. You can try. This country should be brought closer to its exaggerated claim. the truth is bitter. Certainly, some Asian countries such as Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and even Malaysia are much cleaner compared to Canada. Of course, we should not forget that Canada claims to be one of the 10 cleanest countries in the world. And Vancouver claims to be one of the 5 cleanest cities in the world. Please go to East Hastings or Victoria Drive or Commercial Drive or West Georgia or Broadway or Main Street and judge for yourself. I am 50 years old and have traveled to 26 countries. Canada is far from its claims. I saw, homeless people, pooping and peeing everywhere and it's so common. nobody cares. I was shocked again. I endured for 3 years but every day going worst. late in 2022, I decided to move to the east because I thought that place has a stronger culture. I chose Montreal. I had heard it is the capital of art and civilization in Canada. it was absolutely wrong. Canada is Canada. I was shocked again, again, and again. the wave of homelessness, graffiti, vandalism, bad smell, terrible infrastructure especially roads in or out of the city, and above all, you can see trash everywhere. plastic bags, tissues, water bottles, and disposable cups. You cannot see any street or park or public place without these. This is impossible. surprisingly nobody cares. neither the people nor the government!!!!!!! please, don't be fooled by the advertisement about a good Canada. please, be careful. most of the things about a good Canada are deception This country is disappointing. Please, Please, Please, don't immigrate to Canada you would regret it absolutely. this is not a developed country, Canada is a developing country with huge serious problems.
