Hi my name is sandeep and iam from india I have completed my graduation in electrical and electronics engineering after that I worked as a salesforce developer for three years totally I have 3 years of work experience in software sector now I wanted to do pursue my masters in data science at the ETH zurich and I did some training and certifications which are related to data science so here my question is WILL I ABLE TO GET ESOP SCHOLARSHIP? if I get this it is definitely life turning point in my career please tell me how much percentage of chance do I have to get this ESOP?
I thought I had a chance for the ESOP, but after seeing the research you guys have participated in and your grades being in the very top percentile, I dont think I will even want to apply... Im currently 5th semester Uni Basel with a 5.3 avg (top 5-10%?), with no reasearch experience yet and only a vague plan for my masters to study the neural networks RenTech uses for their hedge fund managing/ market prediction. Really liked the vid tho, thanks for that! Bunch of brilliant guys sharing a tripod lol 😆
Hey Alexander, thanks a lot for the compliments and I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Like with all application processes, there's always a bit of luck involved, so I would definitely apply if I had your profile because you're in the ballpark of the required percentile. I would try to go a bit deeper into the projects that interest you and find research at ETH that interests you. If you have that then writing the preproposal is not that much work so you can only benefit from applying
@@itsdavidalonso thank you for the encouragement! Im coming to the eth regardless, but of course esop would be great... Ill do some research on what the departments research topics are, do you have any weblinks I could look into for starters? (Like an eth research homepage, if such a thing exists)
@@r.alexander9075 When I look for research projects I either go to SIROP (but you might not have access) or www.iris.ethz.ch/student-projects.html or idsc.ethz.ch/education/theses-semester-projects.html but keep in mind that these are robotics specific.

Such a fantastic video🥳. It is informative and inspiring, even though I major in Architect. I have already finished my Bachelor of Architect this year, and I long for getting ESOP for my graduation at ETH Zurich. However, I've been struggling with German 😅by now. And I have some questions, hope you can help me. 1. I graduated from a university in Vietnam, and it is not in top universities all over the world. So is it matter? 2. Do your major require German certificate? Because I am required to submit C1 certificate in both English and German. And you know German is so tough to conquer. Much appreciated!❤
Hey! Thanks a lot for the kind words, I’m glad this video has been helpful to you :) Regarding your questions, I was not aware that any masters in Zurich require German. The masters of everyone I know is taught in English. It could be that Architecture is an exception, in which case I’d recommend studying German for the C1 or applying to a more international program like at TU Delft. Regarding the uni, it will matter a bit, but it’s not a deal breaker for sure, so don’t be discouraged!

Second one is about the application process, is the application form of master's program separate from the ESOP application?! Best regards
Hey Hisham, thanks!! To your first question: no they are not required. And yes, the ESOP application is separate from the regular master program application. Bear in mind that this is when I applied almost 3 years ago, so things might have changed ;)

Is it possible to be denied a scholarship while still securing admission into a master's program without any financial assistance? and is the GRE required for robotics masters?
@@estrella1291 Ah, I'm not sure, but I can tell you already that the undergraduate at ETH is in German so that might be an issue for you if you're coming from abroad
