I have Christian religious trauma and I am trying to learn the truth of Judaism ❤️

This is a lifelong problem welcome to the Jewish community! People hate us just for existing and once you are orthodox u can’t hide the fact that you are Jewish!! Of course the good (hopefully) outdoes the bad, surround yourself with good accepting people, and view these haters with pity instead of hate! They are missing in life so they need to pull everyone around them down Keep your head up it’s part of the process!! Hashem loves you! Love what you said about responding not reacting!!

I also haven't finished converting yet, but I've already gotten so much hate from Christians. But as for Jews and Muslims, everyone gives me so much love. Nonreligious people don't really get it, so they typically don't care and are neutral. Religious Hindu and Buddhists also give a lot of love.

Like you said, they're lacking and looking at us with jealousy .. instead of as an example (as if all of us are perfect, far from! LOL). I agree with what you said about being family. The way I look at it we are all just one big mishpacha. We may argue and have differing opinions, think and do things differently, etc, but all in all klal Israel is one big, beautiful family. I’m so grateful for that. One of the things that I love about Yiddishkeit is that you are always seeing new good things and always learning from other people. I have never thought of looking into Rav Nachman but seeing how much he has influenced your journey indicates that perhaps I am missing something. Keep posting.

I was interested in conversion since my teen years, but I put it off, not because of what people said, but because what I thought they would say if I was open about it. I'm in my 30s and now starting my conversion, no one in my family disapproved. I was never afraid of random Anti-Semites coming out from no where and and attacking me, I mean I do understand it as a possibility, but my biggest fear was the reaction of my family, and they were great. Now I feel strong in my future Jewish identity, in part thanks to my Christian/Atheist family members, I know I can take on any Anti-Semite in the future because I am so secure in myself now. I'm sure being black and Jewish can come with it's own prejudices from some people, I know you all can get through any of them as the victors.

I can see your light, Some people feel good about putting others down because they have no love in their life. They are so sad.

Ya are beyond ya years. I converted with my wife over eight years and she passed ten months ago. I really look up to ya especially about rabbi Nachman. Ya are an excellent team and there is nothing I can teach ya because ya are teaching me. I am retired from the military and I knew after ya conversion ya would develop into teachers of the Torah. Hashem converted ya to be Jews to bring unity to the Jewish body.

You guys are the best. Even if we weren't Jewish we'd listen to you. Keep up your good work!! You are HOLY

I totally agree NIECE that a lot of people are not fulfilled in their lives so they become verbal and virtual trolls. Their hearts must be filled with darkness cause there can't be much joy in it! Focusing on the good things isn't always easy to do but as you become free-er in your heart and your spiritualness it will become better to see the good in someone. Me and my wife have a similar experience with the negative comments and antisemetic slights as we make our conversion into judaism. It's like we get they mean well, and we do appreciate their care and concern, however we are very knowledgable in the Tanakh and the reason we are making our decision is because we are knowledgeable. So we don't even get into it no more.

Sefer Chovos halevavos (Shaar Bitachon) discusses this in detail... material for future reading. Hashem designs and orchestrates every situation you find yourself in for a purpose. I sometimes think part of the reasons for jews being disliked is it can not only come across as very traditional and unconventional for modern secular life but it's also wildly misunderstood and are taken out of concept. Eg chosen does not mean better than others it means chosen to do something and involves a heck of a lot of work and knowledge

The more they spew hatred at us, the more it proves the self-hatred they have for themselves. And it doesn’t matter whether the haters are aware of it or not; their projection of that hate only proves their own fear and doubt about their own belief system. My thought is people who hate…. I pity them because the strongest emotion in the world isn’t conducive to one’s personal growth, well-being and happiness. Being better than we are is a lifetime journey. Some people fail at it and those who take the time to learn from others, end up realising their true potential. Excellent point about how you guys aren't about convinceing others. As a matter of fact Jews are the only nation in the world that do no proselytize, we do not seek to change people into being Jewish, we just try to inspire the world. Even if someone is trying to become Jewish, the official Halacha is to try to discourage that person, and we tell them about their upcoming venture. May Hashem continue to be a light in your heart, and may the Torah be your only inspiration. Because Torah is all about love, and commitment.
