Hubby put an extra sail track on our van.....very easy to do. Bought from Bunnings around $20 , silicone to keep the water out from getting behind it and a few rivets.....works a treat.

Have you thought about doing away with the tripod base of the clothes line and just put a piece of pipe on the draw bar that it slips into. No more clothes on the ground and also no more pegging it down. Easy to install.

Thanks guys, the 'stationary' VLOG was great :) I have hooks in the van but I now suspect that I need more! I have put sail track on the driver's side and can use a shade cloth with a 6mm keder. If the driver's side has to face East, then it's a good place to sit 'n' relax when West is too hot and glaring. I live on the road F/T in a 14' Vision Hybrid with outdoor cooking and have an induction cooker inside if it's howling. Composting toilet and shower. I also work on the road and Elon is my best friend. I have 800W of solar and 2 x 300Ah Lithiums with a 50A MPPT controller and 40A while driving (Enerdrive). I have 3 x 80 litre water tanks, one of which is always just town water - the front tank (80 litre grey tank as well). The end tank is for creek/river water (showers/washing) the middle tank is for bore water after sucking through a B.E.S.T water filter. When I fly the kids into a location and then go remote, my language is always around 'the power and water are there, just use them wisely". 'Conserving' is one matter but 'enjoying' remote camping is another matter. There're always questions around too much solar or too much battery. I prefer too much solar but you need enough battery to 'enjoy' the remote lands. Another tip is to purchase a quality stainless steel bucket, machined/spun from one piece (no leaks with soldering/brazing). I have an outdoor sink but the HWS is a bit 'slow' so I spray the water into that bucket and set it by the camp fire at night or in the morning. I don't usually plug products but you can get a Boss Camp hand-held shower kit (USB re-charge) and have a quick tub without 'wasting' water. There are marine-grade brands available from Road Tech Marine (about twice the price) but they run off 12V. In addition to the Boss, I have RTM pumps for water and diesel (used in jerries). I also have a 12V pump for creek water. That's enuff, from me.

Those Aldi bags rock! I have numerous of them too. I use Velcro wraps on my hoses and chuck them straight in to those Aldi bags.

Thank you both for sharing the ups and downs of life on the road and living in a tiny home. We have put a sail rail (we had a privacy screen) on our HTO Fury Road when we were in Darwin. It has made a huge difference to the fridge and keeping the van cooler. Looking forward to you Ningaloo Videos. Stay cool :)

You keep saying small. If you had a larger van, what would that have done to you weight problems? I don't understand how some of the really big rigs get towed legally. I would have thought your internal roof might be a good spot for some simple storage (eg: your laptops) in a thing like that black slide in pocket near your door.

We have just watched this very informative video (recently new followers and we are loving your tips and trick as well as your travel vids)! One question: where do you get your laundry bags for underwear? I like where the zip is located on the bag.

Hi Guys I will try and explain how we hang our clothes in 1 minute setup. You will love this design 😵‍💫🙈👍😎 I what you to get a paper and pen . One. draw 2 lines in parallel. Two .the 2 arms on your awning that come straight out. Three. If you get a plastic pipe about 1.5 feet long x 2 ..about 2 inches wide or so . Four. You have to put 2 holes x 2 about 20 mill from each end and then the rope full length of the awning.x 2 and add 1 foot extra. Five.when you have it all connected just make sure you leave about 1 foot longer then the awning. Six. Now you have it all connected together you put one end over the arm of the awning and then put the line under the plastic pipe and it will lock itself in when you pull the line,and then go to the other end and wrap it around the pipe again over and then the line goes over the pipe to lock it up.😵‍💫🙈 You then have 2 clotheslines and you can use it and it doesn’t matter if it rains . Great idea of the Fusion hooks outside, would have never of thoght, got them inside and they are great.

Mel we have a clothes line that hooks on side of van keep eye out at aldi thats where I got mine its great take it down to tra El then back up she goes for beach towels bath towel etc take care things must improve

How lucky are you that this didn't happen on the Gibb!! Feeling your pain/s (financial, timewise, fridgewise, heatwise and space constrictions). Hang in there guys!! PS Even tho' it's school holidays, tell the kids to to use the down time to get ahead in their work. They can then have the time off to explore more when you're mobile again.

So happy you guys are still living full time on the road, loving it and making it work. I’ve seen that pillow clothes storage idea before… glad you’ve implemented it. My baby q is a fav. Cast iron cookware for fire pit use. A small pop up tent (fly attached) is great for saving your spot when you go out if you have a motorhome/campervan, guest sleeping area, pet or child sandpit/playpen screened, shady enclosure, and extra storage too for those outside items etc. Hooks are great too! I love my recycled black plastic tubs for carrying water, dishes, storage etc. I still go camping in my pop up tent with robust stretchers in a car. Jenga skills are a must! My cpap battery is charged by an extra car battery in a box (solar blanket can charge or swap over in car to recharge if travelling) on a sine converter for extra safety. My phone and watch charge at the same time every day. Lasts weeks. Great tips guys… I can’t wait to get on the road in a campervan full time…. Can’t tow!
