Producing 2.3 billion pencils a year and being in the business for over 257 years, Faber-Castell has a sound know-how of how quality pencils are made. Have a look behind the scenes of our manufacturing.
This is the first time I've seen making a pencil like this. Little did I know that there was so much hard work. Thanks Faber-Castell for the fantastic work.
The first school exam was never about how pencils are made. So the pencils does grows from trees. All the schools has signed the top secret deal with the pencil makers, it’s the Area 51.
When I was little, before I left my homeland to immigrate to the other side of the world, my teary-eyed relatives gave me the 48 colored pencil set as a goodbye gift. I took that set everywhere as I learned to acclimate. On my first visit back many years later, I bought myself a new set and passed that down to my baby sister. And to this day, I still have my original set from more than 2 decades ago. Faber-Castell will always have a special meaning in my life (I’m cheesy, yes, but this video brings back nostalgia).
Wow, just imagine if Fabercastle decides to make a commercial out of this story, opening scene a child preparing for traveling, teary-eyed people gifting the pencils set... years later, you show up on the camera holding the old vintage original set with your children playing around with new ones ... it is gonna be a hiiiit
Then we started asking , if it’s this tricky, then why they even bother to give the pencils their “car body paintworks?!”, we had to use the swearing word of MTHR FVKERS in this one!
just say "its made from u-boat steel." if he asks why say "because it will re-appear/emerge" damn this sentence makes way more sence in german and is even funnier....
Can I just say this was one of the most interesting videos I've watched. Always fascinating to see how things we use every day, and take for granted, are made.
It seems to me that this automated production process of making pencils is incredible, the fact that it also applies quality control (an inspection) before if gets sent off.
a lot more labour involved that I imagined. but that equipment was paid for decades ago!!! still surprised that the price point can stay so low with all these involved steps and materials.
I grew up next to this fabrication and sometimes the whole neighbourhood smelled like pencils. 🙂 Depends on the wind. Back then in the 80s everyone living around Faber Castell worked there and I always had lots of scarce goods pencils given to me by neighbours that they could not sell because the print was overlayed or something. Then, like everywhere, staff was heavily reduced and my pencil well dryed up.
i really like the colored leads arc and the painting arc. Oh and honorable mention to the dipping and the drying room episode i guess i just like colors
Thank you all the employees who make these wonderful pencils for us to use. I love them, and I appreciate them even more now. Love and blessings, Sandy
@@ryanhuang8498 true Faber castell is my fave brand coz it lasts longer and it's expensive it isn't tht cheap nor expensive it's price is kinda okayish price
here in india too. when i was in school i used to buy faber castel pencils, erasers, ruler etc. it was a feeling of proud because my classmates used local pencils.😅
@@sharkddududdudu1679 steadtler brand is not found in india...faber castel is here. during my school days faber castell was a new brand in india most students used indian brands like 'natraj', 'apsara'
@@Tiffany_Cruz so not true for most of them! Most of these are for artists and are too expensive for school classrooms, so probably about 10% and only the triangle shaped ones which are meant for kids. For example what little kid would be using the Polychromos line in the first place?
This video reminds me of back in the 80s and early 90s of how the simple things we used daily were made on PBS. Lots of dedication, detail and love goes into these objects a lot of us over look or take for granted.
Just. Amazing! It was great to see how the "best of the best" is made ...they're the only pencil I've used to sketch with, so this was very eye-opening. Thank you Faber-Castell!
People of old times would DIE when they see how easy and fast production has become! So fascinating. We should really appreciate the people who create such machines
Cool, thank you. I remember getting a box of Faber-Castell pencils, and being so happy and grateful. I still am, just watching this video took me back to the smell of the fresh pencils and the joy of holding a brand new smooth colour, ready to ✍🏽 draw , in my hand.
Every product made on a industrial level deserves much more value than what we pay, for example, for starbucks Small pieces of metal and plastic are materials so hard to create without complex machinery but we just trash them as if they value nothing
The leads are deeper in color. Easier to put on the paper, and harder to snap. The writing ones are like $1.99 ea but they last if you look after them.
It's great to know about the process how the pencils we love are manufactured. You can see the customers' love towards the brand at the end of the video ❤
I’ve always taken good care of my pencils, so they will last me a long time and perform well. After seeing the video I will appreciate the work that went into making them too.
Had my first Faber-Castell product when I was 1. Loved it so much. This video shows that pencils are a beautiful necessity to the world, people should take care of their pencils better too. Already 17 years of my life with Faber-Castell 🎉. Thank you so much Faber-Castell! You have brought my life amazing! ❤
Seeing how much effort goes into making pencils makes me feel bad for participating in pencil fights when I was 7 years old. Back then, a No. 2 Ticonderoga was about 10 cents.
If we can understand his/her comment then we're fine. This isn't school, stop putting stress and pressure on others by making fun of their grammar. And english isn't the only language as well, they probably can speak in another language.
I have no idea you guys had a channel. Thank you for sharing this process, I love it! My kids will be delighted to see it today when they come from school. 😊
Wow!! Faber Castell polychromus pencils..hands down the best in the world. Thank you for igniting my imagination and fueling my creativity and keeping me alive. Art is everything. From the clothes we wear to the cars we drive from animal displays for courtship to the colour of our carpets.. The colour in our lives. .Art...is ....life. Thank you. X
@@factsuniverse9997 yes pencils unlike humans grow to be shorter they do this so that no one can use them once they have been exhausted it's a good tactic if you ask me
I have brought the 48 colour pencil set of Faber-Castell before 6 years and to this date I can't bring myself to use it. I just keep it to look at and admire it.I manage with my used colour pencils. Beautifully crafted pencils.
If nothing else, it certainly gives the general public a taste of the engineering and machine design that can go into the mass-production of even the simplest objects.
Absolutely amazing! I'm 72 (2022) and I can not recall a time in my entire life that I did not have Faber-Castell pencils. THE Standard for EXCELLENCE. Bravo!
I'm actually glad it was recommended. Without it, I wouldn't have known about how something as simple as a pencil was made and all the time, effort, and resources that goes into making it. The video production quality is just as impressive as the entire process itself. Mad respect to all those who work in manufacturing.
magnumcyclonex we call this the super-intelligence of the humanity. Not a single human on earth can make a pencil, the humanity can make a bunch of it.
