I envy and am jealous that both of you met each other while in the beginning of your 20s, because it's a cruel sad reminder, not everyone gets to date, not everyone gets to be in love when you are very young, in teenage years or beginning of 20s. I say that because I feel I'm forever permanently depressed and angry, bitter, resentful, that I didn't have a long-term relationship until later than normal, I didn't have one until the beginning of my 30s. It's a reminder of my lifelong hatred of guys, men, always having been expected to make the first move and court women, do the pursuing, be the initiators, etc. For a long time I've heard that 25 is the magic age number and which people start to panic or feel insecure the most if they are still single. Still single as in they have never dated or never been in a relationship before or just never something long-term. If people don't have their first relationship or long-term relationship in their teenage years, then it's at least expected to happen by the beginning of your 20s.

Instead I know that I don’t ever want to put myself in those same experiences again and am choosing inner peace and love. I know it’s hard but I implore you to let go of whatever hurt and bitterness you may have and start the journey to healing in love. You sound like a very self-aware and emotionally intelligent person which is already the foundation for being a great partner, parent (if you desire it), and friend. In the grieving process, you’re probably at the anger stage but accept your past and regrets in love. This I know will open you to the love you desire and deserve and that I know is out there for you. Just a little unsolicited advice from an internet stranger that sees you and cares about you ❤
Nobodysperfect, believe me, you are not alone. You have written my story. I totally get it, but there is still hope. One day when you least expect it, in the most strangest of places, love will find you. Right now you are tightly closed and it takes a special person to break down that door.........it can happen if you really want it to, but if you don’t, it’s okay. Find different ways to fill the void. Ever thought of volunteering?
