How We Plan Projects Using FigJam 

They are! We still use a project management software also. This template is used during our team discussions as a way to visualize and help team alignment for each project. We then use a project management software to get into specifics.

As part of the team, I thought I'd explain a little more on what we used this for; a planning brainstorm. That was all - it was essentially step one in a super complex process. We do not use Figjam to actually track project progress at all, but rather a super flexible "wireframe" of ideas and to give us an overview. We then use Coda to plan out actual deliverables, manage timelines and assign actual tasks to those in our team :) I personally found it super refreshing to be able to watch how we as a team could quickly throw some things around on a blank canvas and then turn that 'wireframe' into projects and tasks later on in a tool like Coda. It's our boardroom essentially, where we come together and throw sticky notes up on a board so that we can plan out things in more detail, later on :)

I understand him though, it's not actually complicated but it's many clicks + when you're collaborating with many people who don't want to have to learn and get used to a new service, this simplicity actually makes sense.
