Great video! Even if one already plays solo, it is always good to watch videos like this. It is refreshing to be reminded about the basics. Sometimes we just add so much to our games and get overwhelmed.

Timestamps for people like me who want to reference back: Video Intro - 0:00 - 2:21 Step One: Choose an RPG - 2:22 - 4:55 Step Two: Choose an Oracle - 4:56 - 6:42 Step Three: Create Your Character - 6:43 - 9:45 Step Four: Play! - 9:46 - 15:17 Closing Thoughts: 15:45 - 16:46 Noting (mostly for myself) that an oracle is a stand-in for the GM but what that means in a practical sense isn't explained here. For someone who is new to the idea of playing an RPG solo, this step ended up meaning almost nothing to me and required several minutes of research outside the video. An small example or a link to a video about Oracles and how they actually work would make this portion of the video much easier to access for newbies like myself. Even after watching the whole method and re-watching that particular step, I still have almost no idea on what constitutes as an Oracle in this context... And most of the explanations about them in Solo play that I was able to find seemed to assume I already knew the basics and just consisted of "use X tables" or "I roll X dice to decide Y" and I'm just ??? 😂

Thanks for the time stamps! Good point about Oracles. The description in the video is too vague. In a nutshell: an Oracle is something which makes yes/no decisions about anything in the game for you. In practical terms, if you flip a coin to get yes/no answers about events in your game, the coin is acting as the Oracle. If the question is something like "Does the meteor hit the city?" and you flip a coin, it's up to the Oracle whether or not the meteor hits the city, instead of the decision being on you as the player. Oracles for solo games are usually more complicated than that (they all have their own specific rules for how to use them,) but in a practical sense, they're all glorified coin-flips.
