Today we're snow plowing a new commercial site of ours, which took about 20 minutes to tidy up. This is from the 3" of slush and ice that we got just a few days ago over the weekend.
Hope you guys enjoy this video of us plowing the site from start to finish. I love watching these types of videos to get a better idea of techniques people use to plow different sites. This one is a little funky as we have to take everything to the back wood line.

Pull everything away from the building then plow in a circle around the building forward. This will cut your time in half. I call this NASCAR.

I’d adjust the set screw so that the plow doesn’t drop so hard and quick... a few times doesn’t hurt but repeatedly will eventually start to effect it

Keep pruners and a small hand saw in your truck to trim branches like that to keep it from scratching your truck. And take that snowblower around the building 2x before plowing so u wont have to shovel and it will be neater👍🏻

I was thinking that too. Have customer cut back the back trees or pay you to do it. If not charge more for potential damage to your vehicle. I have several customers of plowing g for next year will need to trim trees and overgrown brush.

Honestly I thought I was the only one that did that! Used my leatherman on a few branches years ago, then realized I still had hand pruners in the truck door and finished with those. I now keep a pair of pruners in each truck year round. Especially handy with heavy snow when everything starts sagging.

Less scooping .. Wind row it all towards the back tree line clean up around the obstacles and scoop mode and save yourself a lot of time

You’re not wind-rowing 3” of compacted ice buddy. And I’m not leaving it against the building to melt, refreeze and create additional issues 👍

Nope always get it away from the building because if it gets in through the mortar they will find a way to come after you for it. If you windrow it in reverse it’ll still be less cuts than doing the scoop technique it’ll give you a space in between your rows which will allow your truck to push it more efficiently and with less stress

We wind row a whole parking lot with a lot more of that slushy snow with a single cab . I think Your truck will have no problems doing it as well. Also why not clean up that little stuff after instead of trying to make it perfect the first time

I agree with Kevin. Windrow all of it and then push in the scoop to the pile. Even if you windrow have the lot, clean up the main windrow, and then do the other. 3” of snow/slush/ice in that small of a lot wind rowing isn’t an issue for that truck. I am contracted out by a company in NW Indiana to help plow the mall by us. I was able to windrow 2-3” of slush and slop in a lot about 3x the length and 2x as wide and then scoop the windrow to the pile with no issues. The skid steer operator just sat there and watched because the truck pushed better than the machine.

Brian little advice try to push snow away from building and doors with shovel bad slip and fall hazard melt refreeze as for the back lot push dumpsters out of way with plow then move back could wind row the whole lot towards back done it many times. Also put in buildings owners head about cutting back branches along lot better for the hood of your new truck and good winter work.

Hey Brian, I used your code for the earthway snow shovel, the first time I used it within 2 minutes the black plastic bracket that holds it all together shattered? Well that’s not good, sorry to hear that. I haven’t had any issue with the two we’ve been using, and we’ve used them quite a bit (shoveling the first two snow storms since they were 1” events. Glad to hear their customer service is on point! Keep me posted brother.

I’m late to the video ☹️. But hey not sure if boss offers them,but if they did would you get a set of quick on and off add on wings for the plow for your commercial lots? They definitely speed things up and help stop the little “crumbs” from spilling over. I got them for my other truck that came new with a Meyer and it took the plow from 8ft to just under 12ft. Made the 8ft plow just as fast if not faster than my wideout. They are also adjustable so you can make it into a actual pusher, I haven’t tried that position yet tho. But the speed of them is a game changer!

That looks cool but here's a stupid question. Was it snowing for the windshield wipers to be on or blow back from the plow? Personally I'm a little weird and I don't know if this is OCD or not but the windshield wiper sound would drive me nuts. Personally I cook my windshield anytime there's ice or snow coming down and it melts like hot butter. When it gets hot inside the vehicle, I just open the windows enough to let all the extra heat out. I'm also paralyzed so my legs freeze really easy. One more thing I'm perplexed on is, it seems you're always putting the plow in a V. Personally I don't know any better because I've never done any snow plowing. The one lawn chair company I worked at in Kansas City had 4 snow plows and 13 employees. I wasn't chosen to be one of the three minus the boss to run a snow plow, but that's a different subject. Anyway I believe the V is a new design, So I would be having it slanted one way or the other and then a V for clean up. But again I don't know any better.

For the love of GOD!!! Adjust that dump valve on the hydraulic pump. That cylinder is dropping that blade a bit quickly. Turn it in a smidge. I do like these full unedited videos. Keep up the great content.

What was your biggest reason to go with the 570 eps atv over the 850 if price isn’t an issue. Can’t deicide what to get. I keep go back and forth. I think the horsepower on the 850 would be great at plowing but would I need all that power for around the house work

I have a quick question because I’m 15 and I’m going to snow plow when I get my license I’ve had my permit and have been doing it with my dad but when you plow a lot like that aren’t you supposed to push away from the building or no just a question btw been following you for a awhile know your the reason I work for a landscaping company I use the mowers and everything lots of fun

Because we couldn't just pile it up along side the building. It would melt off and create an ice hazard.
