I have a question about cleaning windows in a hot day. I was detailing a BMW X5 and I always leave the windows for last. However, it was a hot day from the start and the windows were pretty hot. When I went to clean it, instead of coming out nice and crystal clear. The glass because hazy and quirky. What do I do in this situation and what can I use to clean the window? Or should I even clean it if it’s too hot?

I watch your vids all the time and find the information in your vids to be entertaining and knowledgable. Ive picked up countless tips form you content. Please clarify the 2.5 hour interior detail. Is it 90 minutes x 2 workers = 2.5 hours, or is it 150 minutes x 2 workers = 5 hours? A similar interior detail for me alone would take about 5 hours.

I have the basic tools (Drill,drill brush attachments, shopvac, steamer, pressure washer, cleaners, detailing brushes) & I watch tons of videos. So my issue is time! It takes me awhile I find and I'm really trying to use my time wisely but a vehicle typically takes me 5 hours.. what am I doing wrong?!? It's very frustrating because I feel like I move fast and don't take much breaks 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Help a girl out ?! Lol 🇨🇦🇨🇦

We have detailed a super hairy jeep Cherokee previously..took a couple of days (we are amateurs still..and our bodys are aging..hubbys fake hip and well i don't move around as fast anymore..lol) it literally looked like the 3 dogs got in the car and dropped every hair on their body while in a wind machine! 1 minpin, a medium length labrador and another medium haired dog. HOW do we speed this up?? It took 2 days to clear the hair out, we have a lilly brush and now 2 different pet hair brushes.. to do the full interior detail fully! Plus we get it again tomorrow, and a new problem has arisen. We burned up 2 ext cords..(we do these details at our home because we don't have the means to be mobile. ) so now a new 12 guage cord and another new cord..we still can't run our 2 vacs on the 12guage..it saftey stops when we do. Very frustrating and seriously slowing us down. We have 2 outlets in the garage. (1970s home)..any advice? Sorry for the long post.
@sheldon3996
@sheldon3996 3 года назад
Removing pet hair, especially lots of it, is time consuming for any detailer. Having good tools certainly helps: a Lilly brush is good for surface hair, a Sonax brush does a better job dislodging imbedded hair. The guys are using drill brushes to help dislodge the hair. A rubber-tipped vacuum nozzle like the Buff Brite Fur-eel can help too. Sometimes the best nozzle attachment is your crevice tool. You might find a conventional vacuum with a rotary brush (like most home vacuums) will work in larger areas of the vehicle. You will need a vacuum with strong suction (if using a Rigid, 5hp minimum). Compressed air is also beneficial especially when coupled with a Tornador cleaning tool as seen in the video (the compressor used with a Tornador must supply enough cubic feet per minute (CFM) or it will not work properly). I should point out however, that even with the best tools, it’s still a tedious process and you should charge your customers appropriately. Regarding electrical power in your garage, I suspect both outlets are wired to the same 15-amp circuit breaker, which may or may not be enough for your concurrent electrical needs. You can operate a single vacuum using a 100’ 12-gauge extension cord without problems, but an air compressor might need a 10-gauge extension. You could plug one vacuum into your garage outlets and the other into the extension cord plugged into an outlet in your kitchen or an exterior outlet (these outlets will be on a separate circuit from your garage). If you intend to get more involved in detailing, you will greatly benefit from having your garage rewired by a licensed electrician to meet your electrical needs. All the best to you both!

@@DetailGroove okay let me talk to you like your human being, because you're really awesome. Us detailers need to figure out a way, to market our expertise better. If someone was doing a carpet job that required 5 hours of almost nonstop labor, they would certainly get paid more than $300 an hour. And we're doing way more than what a lot of these carpet cleaners are doing. Way more. Even if you had a high power truck mount, it's still crazy to think that we're doing 4ish hours of work for only $60 an hour. Pet hair alone is ridiculous, and you're doing a full extraction and decontamination of the interior. My obvious answer is what you charge a customer is absolutely dependent on liabilities and desires, I just think that we're selling ourselves short relative to other adjacent industries that don't even do as much as we do. Oscar bro you should be getting paid at least a hundred bucks an hour.🙂. But man you deserve it. Seriously though, I don't know man, Does $75 an hour really sound crazy for this job? Man hours is still a very important variable in the equation. I don't know if people understand how hard and time consuming pet hair removal is in a vehicle, and that's not even including the other stuff.
