We just go out for a few days to around 2 weeks for now. We will be full time for a while this summer and fall when we sell our house, but our kids plan to go to a music school in the Bay Area during the school year so we can only be semi nomadic at this point (part-time Gypsies lol)

@@TheHappyCaravan Awesome, your set up is nice. My wife and I have 3 kids and we want to own something but San Diego is so expensive. Plus being mobile can allow us tp pursue some outdoor adventures too while educating the kids. We have a place we can park it when not mobile so it is really intriguing for us. Thanks for the inspiration!

We have a Chevy Express 3500 15 passenger 2017. The pull capacity on this vehicle is just over 9000 pounds. The airstream fully loaded is about 8600 pounds so we are pretty close to capacity, but it works because we have a "trailer mode" in the van which allows the van to downshift if it needs to. (Like those slow going trucks on the freeway have.) That is really helpful when we have to go downhill! If you ask your car dealer they will probably be able to tell you the tow capacity.... :)

Hi! We saw some other RVs and things seemed to be more fragile with them, most things on an Airstream are manual which helps things not break so easily. Also if we need to sell it, the resale value is pretty good. :)

Hi! We have lived in it for part of the year, but eventually we got kicked out of the rv park we were staying in in South San Francisco :(. I'll have to make a vlog about that one haha, anyway it wasn't bad to live in honestly. We lived in it for about 2 months straight and it wasn't perfect but it was definitely livable! We live in a little apartment in San Francisco now, but we might live in the trailer again if we move :)

I’m surprised people can find something to be harsh about when there’s no need to be that way. Kids can sleep on anything! When I was little we used to make beds out of chairs by pushing them together and I don’t mean the cushiony livingroom chairs either! Altho we did use those too. We had a large family with aunts and uncles and cousins. When they’d visit we had to sleep wherever so the adults could have the beds - but we loved it! We slept on the floor all the time. We slept outside on the ground and not in tents either. We slept out on the porch many nights and we’d have friends over and we’d all sleep out there. I slept on the ground as an adult too. We loved sleeping outdoors on nice warm nights. Unfortunately I couldn’t do it now to save my life! Im 61 and it would be a miracle if I could even get down on the floor! But those kids are perfectly fine. And happy. They’re living their best life. There are children out there who would give their right arms to be part of a family like this and to be able to enjoy a nice camper full of their loved ones, and making happy memories. Every child should have such a life. 💟✝️💟

Really!? They are camping in an airstream- one of the best made recreational vehicles. Most people “camp” in a tent and sleep on thin vinyl on top of dirt. These parents are providing lots of love and attention and wonderful adventures. Why are you here if you just come to complain?
