I really needed to hear this. In my case, I also made my girlfriend my world and I mistakenly saw all her efforts to push me to grow as a person my own as a way to push me away from her. My whole world literally revolved around her because I adjusted all of my schedules with her time and I never really saw a need to make time for myself because I enjoy being with her. This is a real eye-opener. I really hope and pray that me and my girlfriend would get through this part of our relationship.

Grow individually and as partnner. Remember that you both are 2 beautiful person with unique personality, different background and different belief system. I believe that one factor to keep the fire is acceptance and respect of each others gift and differences. Continue to inspire people as you continue to grow individually and as a couple. I understand about growing as individual people. But you know, there's always frustrations in marriage, about the other person. My husband taught me about unconditional love. Initially in our marriage, I was always thinking "if he has not changed," or "if this keeps going, I'm going to have to leave." In my mind I set a condition that if things don't go the way I want them to go, it will end in marriage ending. That was my thought process. My husband has his own frustrations too about me, but never did he think like how I thought. Sometimes he would just tell me "I still love you." and then I would realize he had a frustration, of which he didn't force me to admit that it was my fault, but because of how he treated me, that in me made me think back of how I behaved and I would realize it myself that I probably should adjust or change the way I do things, just because of how much I can see that he loves me. Never did he say "be better" to me. To me, that feels like a parent scolding a child. Instead he always says "I still love you" In the Bible it says "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her" and honestly, I can say that my husband's love for me is like that - Christ-like, unconditional, not based on how I perform or not perform, not based on how I do well. And that kind of love makes me want to be better for him. Then recently I watched a video online - from a Homeschool Summit. The video's title was "Keeping The Refrigerator Full". That was the only video I've watched from the summit but it made an impact to me. Basically, it's about the speaker's story - Steve Demme - he is a great speaker, he has spoken at Homeschooling conventions, in churches, talked about families, basically about "How Tos" seminars. But in 2012, something happened to him to made him realize and he learned it a hard way, he said how "your relationship to God, impacts how you love your wife and kids. Your relationship to your Heavenly Father is critical to how you relate to humans. The vertical is what impacts the horizontal. " I wish you guys can find his video. It's a whole lot better when you can listen to him first hand. If you truly understand how God loves you, how God sees Jesus in you, you will understand grace, his unconditional love - not based on how "good" or "better" you can do things. This realization of what God love is - how he loves me - changes how I treat other people as well, how I treat my family. I'm learning to be more patient, to be more tolerant toward my children. I want them to feel safe, to feel that I love them unconditionally. Not like they are walking on egg shells at home. Jesus says "For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” It is easy to slip into work-based thinking and we really need to guard against that. We are well-pleasing to God, because Jesus is well-pleasing. And that is called grace. 2 Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. As my opening statement earlier, I understand that we people need to grow. But I also believe this should come out from love - as a result because we are loved, so we want to be better - not because we fear we would lose love, not because we want to win their favor. What is your identity? Your identity is NOT in what you do - how you perform. Your identity is in Christ and what he did on the cross for you. And if you’re a person sitting in wheelchair drooling or you’re in a vegetative state and can’t do anything, God loves you and enjoys you just as much as if you are an accomplished person. We can be diligent without being all strained up. We love because He (God) first loved us. God bless you both.

Omg!!! Ganitong ganito din kami ng boyfriend ko ngayon. I feel like he's independent of me. His plans in life are based on giving me a happy life. And I told him, ayoko na naka-base sakin yung goals and dreams niya. I keep on saying to him, "Paano kapag nawala ako?" At kung ako ang gagawin niyang mundo, paano kung wala na yung relasyon? Ayokong tumigil ang sariling niyang mundo. It's hard because, side note ko lang na he has depression. Hindi ko rin kasi talaga navie-view na magtatagal yung relationship namin kung patuloy na ganun. But I'm having faith with our relationship. He's a very beautiful soul and I'm thankful for him. Our relationship will be a long process. But I believe in us

I also experienced this with my partner during the first period of quarantine (around ECQ i think). Since we can't see each other, and we also can't see our friends, I became very dependent to my partner. After work hrs, we vid call and play video games (that time WWZ is our thing) before we sleep and it's our 'routine' ever since. I got super clingy to the point it is already annoying. I get annoyed whenever he doesn't reply to me or when he doesn't talk to me :< We avoided each other for a wk, I really needed it because I need to reflect on my actions and my thoughts. I forgot to love myself, to enjoy doing things on my own, and to be with my family more. Also to consider that I am not the only one who is having a hard time in the relationship plus stress from the WFH setup. We reconciled and talked about our issues with each other. Maybe it's also our anxieties that is taking over us that time. Now we learned how to respect our own time, to be okay doing other things without the company of your partner. So far, I think this is the lowest 'fire' of our relationship, but I am really thankful that we eventually worked it out :D Thank you for this content! i had this experience of being clingy as well, it was during my CPALE Review times, when I broke down almost every night. i was in Manila, and he's in visayas. i would cling to him always, chatting, and texting him when i had vacant time, and when he's not around i get mad and irritated, and it reached to the point that i became too selfish. i cant tell my parents that im tired for the fear of disappointing them, i vented everything out to him and forgot he has his own life and i just wanted him for myself because i became too dependent. i didn't finish the review because i was too scared to fail, too scared to lose myself, and i had to go home and figure things out for myself. That became and really huge stepping stone for me as an individual and for our relationship, I thank God it happened because I learned things, tho the hard way. my beau never left me and made me understand things in a different level and different perspective.

Megan was sooooo understanding of Mikael! She has such a pure heart. Sayang kasal na sila, I can imagine a better guy for her. I felt like sya yung laging nag aadjust para kay Mikael! di nya pa kasi alam back then na mas magiging famous and better pa nga sya or baka until now. That is why she settled for less. Sorry Mikael, you can grow independently but also be there for each other and not be turned off if one's world is revolving around you, to the point of iiwan or ibbreak mo na sila because of that, pano pala pag di nakapagadjust si Megan😔.
