Mufu dad is the shit! I think that juji and his dad should film a video of them doing their morning cardio together and getting some morning coffee afterwards and just spending a little bit of quality family time together that would be a good wholesome video!

It is nice to see the slices of 'normal' lives. I just always fear for content creators turning every aspect of their lives into content. It is important to maintain some, sacredness, so to speak. Privacy. Balance. I feel it can be difficult to avoid making that type of content or video, genuine. I am speaking more generally and not saying Juji is incapable of that. Just rambling. I do like the idea though, Mufudad is a great man, I am glad they have such a strong connection.

I am definitely making one of these. Only problem is can’t use come winter up here in the great white north. Nice to have a hot tub. Years ago went to a hot springs near Jasper Alberta. They had a cold pool and a really cold pool. I would go in the really cold pool then hot tub and and back and forth. This was 20 years ago. 25 years ago when I used to be into mountain sledding we used to sit in the hot tub then into the nearest snow back.

I was under the impression that ice baths post workout are at least kinda bad for hypertrophy. So I'm curious where Juji impliments them or if he finds the research insufficient
@jujimufu
@jujimufu Год назад
Pros outweigh the cons big time imo. FWIW the paranoid athletes I work with that are aware of this effect put ice baths on the evenings of their off days, which seem to be the most reasonable and convenient time anyway imo. Unless you're doing work out in thr heat hard-core, then cooling off quickly does make a difference like it does with my dad.
@gloriousapplebees
@gloriousapplebees Год назад
@@jujimufu Alright awesome! I've been so back and forth cause I honestly really enjoy them but after seeing some of the research about it related to hypertrophy I've backed off a little. Thank you for the input, it is very welcome in a world where most try to paint things as all good or bad but if you've noticed a net positive I'll take that as a sign to relax a little about it and get back to enjoying the way ice baths makes me feel. Also maybe I've been early to vids lately but Juji has been ON TOP of the comments, so much respect for the way this man treats his community. Rock on Mufus!
@Duck-lh9dm

@@gloriousapplebees If you really enjoy them doing them, doing it in the mornings, before workouts or 4-6 hours after workouts doesn't have major effects on hypertrophy.

I’m been trying to build up my cold tolerance because all that lost weight means cold HURTS now but Ice baths sounded super beneficial … but maybe lowering my HR even more isn’t the best plan…

How do you, (Juji), actually use it though? Like time before or after a workout. I've found cold showers or an ice bath post workout totally kills the pump and all positive muscular inflammation. Any advice on how long after a workout is good so you don't nuke the inflammation that you want? Not always able to do it first thing before a training session. Wouldn't want to do it pre workout anyway unless that pre was like 2 hours plus, takes forever to warm up if you don't do heat exposure, and a slow warm up is what I understand to be the most beneficial, even with Contrast therapy we usually finish on cold anyway.

I'm starting to think that the killing hypertrophy thing is cap, I mean granted alot of the top athletes who are in ice baths are juicing so their muscle mass would retain itself regardless but I've seen alot of ripped average Joe's who do some cold exposure after working out and still have decent physiques considering. I think genetics plays a big part as well to be fair maybe the people who experienced less hypertrophic gains were just at a genetic disadvantage to the cold.

@@creamlass yeah, but it's been kind of proven over and over that it is NOT good for hypertrophy. notably all those guys started doing it AFTER getting big, cuz it was a fad.
