Kinda shook right now. Pile 3 talked about our Saturn return and all the changes and emotions that brings. You talked about the first one occurring from around age 27-30 but usually every 29 years. I'm 30 now and definitely not in a place society expects me to be financially, career-wise, and even romantically speaking. (I've mostly always been okay and secure-ish about being single bc I've really gotta work on me first, but I hate that society makes women feel worthless for being single once you reach a certain age.) The whole thing of really looking into yourself and figuring out if this is where you want to be just...really hit home. And crazy thing is I sort of received an ultimatum from my mom about my job status when I was 29, and there's something itching beneath the surface of my skin saying some big change is on the horizon. I still have no idea where I'm going in life and dealt with really bad depression after graduating college because of having no direction or concrete ambition. It always felt like everyone knew exactly what they wanted to be, exactly how to get there, and there was me, having no clue about anything. I've been emotionally and mentally better in years since, but right after college was the darkest time in my life, with me dipping in and out of depression in the subsequent years, all because of having no clue what to do for a living, being made to feel that material things like jobs and money are all life is about and if you don't have this or that you're worthless (which I never believed), and feeling like I had absolutely no purpose on this planet, so why was I even alive? And yet, looking back on it, I'm able to say there's always been something deep, deep inside me, maybe my intuition, that somehow knew I was going to turn out okay in the end, that my adulthood was going to be okay. And even though I'll do everything in my power to make sure any future child of mine doesn't go through the same debilitating life crisis and depression, part of me is at least thankful for the lessons that dark experience taught me. I've always been a sympathetic/empathetic person, but because of my personal experience with it I can truly understand it when other people talk about the depression they've gone through themselves. I've gained a new aspect of my perspective on life, and that perspective feels a bit fuller because of it. Ugh, sorry for the whole ass essay. I just really felt like I had to share how unexpectedly this resonated. I have a strong feeling I can't meet (and I also don't want to meet) my future spouse until I'm in a better place financially, so I have to work towards that first. But I've also been waiting a longgg time for him, so I hope it's not too far ahead. But hey, our meeting should give me more motivation. The faster I work on my own situation, the faster I'll meet him. :)
