Thank you for, "we're all magicians and artists and it's amazing". 🥰 I teach kids to crochet and I like to tell them that crochet is their superpower and it's possible to make literally anything with crochet. It really is amazing. 😊 Nice video!

I’m encouraging my son to learn how to do stuff with his hands. He sees me making stuffies, blankets, pillows, etc and thinks it’s it’s amazing. Framing it as my superpower might make it even more interesting. ❤❤

Have been crocheting for 55yrs, and can attest to your commentary. For me, wooden hooks are not good because they can split and yarn can get caught, metal ones or ergonomic w metal hooks are the best - some resin ones with smooth barrel (no seams where yarn can fray) can be good. Guilty pleasure is supporting local artists and small yarn shops, buying patterns from independent creators.

Finishing each WIP before starting another is very hard! Especially when I know I have to do so many different projects for gifts and I get bored. I like jumping back and forth. The issue with that is forgetting which stitch was used if it’s been too long. I LOVE learning new stuff! I’m always trying something new. I’ve learned tatting, knitting, granny squares, new stitches, amigurumi, mesh bags, and a halter top in the past year. It’s been so amazing! I adore learning!

I myself tend to do one project at a time. And to tell the truth, I hate to weave in the ends. But I feel so good after I've finished my project and when the person/people that I gifted them to like them a lot. I Love seeing people using what I've made for them. I remember when I made my first dress for my Granddaughter....She was about 4 or 5 at the time. I was so proud of my finished product and it fitted her correctly. She Loves it. In fact I've made her 2 dresses. I'm hooked on making little girls dresses and baby blankets the most.

I will say the biggest thing for me on this list was absolutely finishing projects once you start them. I have several larger projects that I could have finished a year ago if only I hadn't started multiple other projects since....nothing feels better than when you finish a project that took forever and it makes me want to just keep crocheting. Definitely recommend either keeping the projects smaller so you can finish them before you run out of motivation, or just working on something until you are done.

Give yourself challenges or limitations to stretch your creativity! Lately I’ve made it my goal to use up the yarn I have in my stash since it’s getting bigger than I wanted and I just can’t justify buying more yarn, and having that goal has forced me to be more resourceful and think more creatively. And I get to bust my stash too! Win-win!

i bought an ergonomic hook after 10 years of crocheting. i'm such an idiot for not doing it earlier. i immediately became faster. also yarn winder isn't a neccessity. i gave away mine after realising i enjoy hand winding yarn.

@emeraldgaze Месяц назад
i do a lot of these but i found that i can't focus on 1 project at a time. especially if i'm doing a very time consuming project. sometimes i get so bored during the same stitch over and over in one long project and i just need to switch to something different or smaller so i can change things up and keep my self interested. i've bought way too much yarn to risk falling out of this hobby just because a project starts frustrating me, lol
@bellscreate
@bellscreate Месяц назад
@@emeraldgaze that’s alright, do whatever brings you happiness, honestly I didn’t start doing long projects until I had been crocheting for a while, so that’s normal, always different per person😊🥰
