🎸FAQs:
Are you a full-time RU-vidr?
Yes, I am on RU-vid as Marco Cirillo, and I promote my videos on my website BlitzGuitar.com. All the courses I post online are available on my Patreon page bit.ly/2rMAPYG
How long have you been playing guitar for?
I started playing guitar when I was 10 years old, so it has been more than 20 years. I have always loved fingerpicking guitar, so this is why all my tutorials focus on this topic.
Why are you on Patreon?
Patreon is great! It allows creators to make money doing what they love. On Patreon I can share my guitar lessons with my Patrons and get paid for it. As a creator, I feel like Patreon really made a massive difference in the way I share my content :)
Do you do concerts?
I used to do a lot of gigs in the past. London is a great place to play music almost every day. When my RU-vid channel started to grow, I decided to go all in and try to help as many people as possible learning guitar. This goal takes all the time I have available, so I am not doing any gig or concert atm.

I asked this question the other day in the comments on another teachers channel but took it down as I thought it was a bit out of place . It was a course on theory. Thank you for answering it for me. I’m working on the free ebook currently.

The haunting sound of Greg Lake's guitar in "From the Beginning" mesmerized me as in the 70's. After some bad guitar teachers I never touched a guitar again for 40 years,. Im happy to have found your tutorials by chance last year, & have been progressing ever since: Worth the Wait! . Grazia! A little known song by Santana you'd enjoy: "Never the Same Again."

This lesson is invaluable! I'm doing both of your Udemy courses & am 3/4 through Guitar System with the other lined up. This method of practice is absolutely perfect to accompany the course! I also wanted a good practice / warm up regime and this is just superb! Thanks Marco and for those who like this & other videos by Marco and are serious about learning fingerpicking in a lovely melodic way I recommend his Udemy courses... link above. Best guitar teacher ever!

dtlotus Ditto for me. For a warmup or just noodling, I like to play arpeggios with a form like major 7 over chord progressions. To me it sounds pleasing and it is fun. I also take the course and love how Marco created the exercises. You could make a repertoire just using the exercises.

Thanks for the lesson marco. One important question for me and this has troubled me for years: how to connect chords and scales together in a song while playing them. For e.g if I am moving from a C maj chord to a D min chord, how to play notes simultaneously so that the song sounds beautiful..so that the rythm and the melody are played together. please explain.

I've been playing for 4-5 months now and have learned a lot from your videos already. I learned the basic chords very quickly but want to do more finger picking. My wife bought me a second hand guitar but the action seems very high and I can't progress after about the sixth fret. What action do you recommend for learning finger picking?
@crashandburngaming5103
@crashandburngaming5103 5 лет назад
Chris Douros you may need to get this professionaly setup by a luthier or guitar shop. Depending on the guitar of course. If the one you have feels good and you are comfortable with it, Whether it is worth it for you to spend the money on that or just go and buy a new guitar that is suited to you, your objective, and your body. Once you have a guitar that fits you, you will be miles ahead. The action is really important to get set, if it is too high it make the guitar a monster to play, too low and it will buzz and not sound good. It all depends on the neck, a luthier will tell you if itvis worth fixing. A good new acoustic can be bought for 200 and up. IMHO Good luck to you.
@chrisd.4631
@chrisd.4631 5 лет назад
Bugs Bunny thank you for the info! I will definitely look at both options. I have a few family members that play and after looking at their setup I knew my action was too high. The guitar itself also felt more comfortable just holding it. I may be in the market for a new guitar very soon. If you have any suggestions I would appreciate the feedback($2-$400). Thanks 🙏🏼
@crashandburngaming5103
@crashandburngaming5103 5 лет назад
Chris D. If you look straight down the neck from thw top to the bottom. You can see whether or not the neck is straight or not. The it may be just as simple as a neck adjustment to bring it into alignment. Depending if it even has a truss rod or not. Sounds like the neck is out for sure. You can check if it has a truss by looking into the body where the neck meets the body. If there is an allen key or nut then you can adjust it there. Lots of vids showing you how to do that. New string are a must. I use martin lights for me acoustics. I just like the crispness of them but there are tons of strings to choose from. As for a guitar...i once bought a cheap Nevada guitar for $150 new and it was an awesome guitar for years. Inhave several from $200 to $2000 and it really just depends on what feels right to you. Its a really personal thing picking out a guitar. I have seen guys play a $3000 martin acoustic and then guys playing a cheap shit jobby and blow them away. Money dont really matter, its the joy and pride you take in your music that always comes through. If ya got the bucks to buy a really good acoustic then fine by all means do so. But if not go to some music shops and play around. Most have used units that are on sale and they will kost likely set them up for you too. Same goes woth electrics. There are alot of really really good electrics out there for reasonable prices. RU-vid has lots of guys reveiwing guitars of all ranges. I watch Darrel Braun and Guitar Maxx, they review alot of guitars. Cheers Chris
