I rarely watch regular season games but this year/next year season I'll be watching every single suns' game. It looks that they put a formidable team together so quickly.
Definitely needed, the Nuggets had one playoff game against the Suns where the Nuggets small forwards were a combined plus fifty. Sticking with Okogie was not an option.
3pt % wasn’t Craig’s fault against the Nuggets. Look it up. Bring him back. Monty made terrible personnel decisions. He didnt play a big enough lineup against the Nuggets. Craig should have stayed starting at the 3 spot
Really? A guy who averages 5 points his entire career makes it unfair? Honestly man, some of RU-vid people just say anything that floats around in your heads.
Suns still no defense and no body to stop joker stop the cap. Joker will bully anybody the suns will get. Joker plays inside out. It’s easy to be a great shooter on a weak team.
They just picked up some very solid defensive players yesterday plus keeping okogie and getting jordan goodwin in the beal trade gives them some decent depth in that area
I cant wait to see this team play together. I never understood how Suns haters had so many "concerns" about the Suns defense when they just watched a team win a chip that had no one with any defensive accolades. We got a defensive mastermind of a coach and some of the best offensive players on this roster. The Suns are looking good for next season.
Bruce Brown and Aaron Gordon were top 5 defenders in the playoffs. I understand nobody had accolades, but they often had the best defenders on the court
As a Suns fan, we love and miss the twins. I’m always rooting for Bridges and Cam so I’m gonna be rooting for the Nets a lot next year (unless you playing us, of course).
Anyone who thought the Suns had a chance at a ring last year after the Durant trade just does not understand basketball very well. Durant had less than 15 games going into the playoffs with his new team. During the playoffs, CP3 and Booker were even talking about how they are still having to find ways to work with Durant. There were huge chemistry issues and Durant was still a visitor inside his own teams home court. On top of the chemistry issues, they had a coach who did not know how to utilize this lineup, they were forced to play the big 2 way more minutes and there was hardly any support outside of Durant and Booker. There was no way they could win a ring with that setup. Heck, Lebron had all off season and half a season with Miami before the big 3 fully gelled. Even with that said, that Suns team was the toughest competition for the Nuggets in this last playoffs. The Suns could of won it, if they just had the role players step up. If you look at game 4 when they won at home to tie the series 2-2, they won because Shamet stepped up and scored 19 points and hitting wide open corner 3s late in the 4th to take the game. Thats all they needed, players who could step up and hit the wide open shots. And there will be even MORE wide open shots next season with the big 3 and the Suns signed tall, linky, athletic role players who can hit the wide open shot. So yeah, their best chance is 2024 season.
I think the Suns still need to shore up their bench, but this does help a lot. On the other hand, Nuggets are super good and also can improve their bench, Grizzlies just got rid of their ball and chain in Dillon Brooks and added some veteran voices for their locker room, OKC looks ready to start making some runs, Spurs got some dude named Victor Wembanyama who looks decent, Dallas picked up Seth Curry and may be able to make some more noise...there are not going to be any easy runs through the West this year.
@@carterdoyle7 I like them adding Eric Gordon, even if he is getting long in the tooth. At worst I think he can come off the bench and give a solid fifteen a night and then if there are injuries here and there he can come in as a starter. At best he can start and feed Ayton and KD and Booker and Beal and keep them happy while not feeling he needs his but still force the opponent to guard him with some threes and some drives. No team ever had too many veteran ball handlers in the playoffs.
Suns lost the series because Monty didnt make the adjustments until it was too late. Plus they only played 20 games together, with the bench playing less games than that. You dont gain chemistry and know exactly how to play with one another that fast.
Yuta is Chasing a Championship! As he should as a very young player!. After he wins a Championship! He will be worth Triple to Quadruple! The amount. Thats a Man with a Plan! Look at Bruce Brown! He just got a 2 Year 45 Million Deal!
Also, think HIM BEING AN ASIAN FACE, MAINLY JAPANESE! the sponsors will be galore. Once he plays the year, suns can always resign him if he delivers, with new cap, and early bird rights.
@@BdalingoFitnEnt yep he was really good on the nets I was watchin every game till they broke the team he was good defensively also he have some good blocks on nets
Hopefully the Suns new coaching staff will change the fact the Suns were the worst team in the leagues the last 3 years at getting to the foul line, and top 5 worst in the league at sending teams to the foul line. That's a huge hurdle to constantly have to overcome. I'm a big fan of great shooting and all, but you need guys who can take it to the rack and get fouled. You have to get to the free throw line and get easy points while at the same time getting the other team into foul trouble, making some of their starters have to sit on the bench.
Alot of times role players that contribute to championship teams get paid big time in the offseason. Look at Bruce Brown he just got over 20 million a year. Yuta took a below market deal with the Suns, he's looking to help the Suns win a title, then cash out next free agency!
To quote Bradley Beal. Good luck guarding us. This is the best big 3 in the league and if you throw in DA its the best Big 4. Championship is coming home to PHX .
And Booker was hurt too with the foot injury. But they still could of won it if they just had the role players step up. Game 4, Suns win and tied the series 2-2. Why? Because shamet stepped up and scored 19 points and was hitting the wide open corner 3's late in the 4th. Thats what they needed, sharp shooters who could step up and hit those shots and they didnt after that game. Then Durant and Booker were playing so many minutes, it just crushed them. The same thing happened the season before with Dallas. The role players did not step up and it was put all on CP3 and Booker and they got crushed then too. There is a pattern here, lack of role players and the coach not adjusting. I feel a lot better with Vogel and the role players they signed so far.
But now with Yuta they can punish....um homie they got Beal lol. Far more I portent and unlocks thr offense far more let's just get that straight. But playing Yuta will be good it's a solid pick up.
Suns i think is the only team that gave the nuggets a hard time. Nuggets swept the lakers that defeated the defending champ warriors. That says a lot about the nuggets that is why the suns that defeated them in 2 games are promising.
Yuta is not completed player yet, he’s on his progress rn. Last season before Kayle and Kd’s leave he hit more than 50% 3P and gave Nets good mood. Tbh I think he cannot be superstar but he can be big help for those superstars with his hustle, 3P and cleverness. As Yuta’s fun, so happy that Yuta can play with and be taught by Kd, they got perfect chemistry.
Suns with Yuta & having more offense but an average defense, they basically might be like the Mavs with Luka/Kyrie. All offense but no defense. Just gotta wait & see.
Phoenician over here! Now I'm considering going to home games, dealing with parking fees, overpriced beverages, huge traffic jams after games. Still, I think it's cheaper to just watch on TV.
Lakers, and Clippers look like they have something to say about dethroning The Nuggets before The Suns… Gonna come down to who is the healthiest at playoff time…
The suns haven’t been good cause they don’t have a bench but overall it’s over for the league theybdef winning this year and I promise you I’m not a suns fan
Just because you miss a 3 point shot, doesn't mean it's a brick, as a matter of fact a great 3 point shooter is going to miss 3out of 5 shots or miss 6 out of 10 or should I say brick 6 out of 10. Once again just because you miss a three point shot does not mean it is a brick. ThT means steph Curry BRICKS A LOT OF SHOTS. UNDERSTAND!!!!
@@joseortiz7828 that's not true, and any shooter can miss a wide open three, any shooter. That's why anyone who shots over 350 is considered a good 3 point shooter.
@victorcox581 Steph doesn't get wide open shots. Great shooters aren't left wide open. Making 35% of 3s is good because it's the hardest shot to make. That doesn't mean shooting 6/20 as a team is good. Neither Torrey Craig or Josh Okogie shot their average. They missed shots other players would make. That was the difference in that series. You think Yuta Wantanabe is missing those same shots?
@@joseortiz7828 That may be true but still I beg to differ, if somebody shoots 37 - 40 percent they are considered elite, and ever one gets and misses wide open 3, because as you say it's a difficult shot. Most position shoot under 50 % because according to your theory they are terrible. Do you realize Stephen Curry only shot over 50% in a season once. The great shooting CURRY THROWS UP MANY BRICKS ACCORDING TO YOUR THEORY. ONCE AGAIN ALL SHOOTERS MISSED WIDE OPEN SHOTS. THATS WHY NO ONE SHOOTS 100% FROM FREE THROW LINE, ARE FREE THROWS BRICKS? NO, SO DESCRIBE THE SHOT AS A WIDE OPEN 3 AND HE CANNOT HIT IT. BETTER THAN SAYING A BRICK,WHEN IT'S NOT A BRICK, IT'S A MISS SHOT. YES THEY ARE BRICKS FROM 3, THE SHOT YOU SHOWED WERE NOT BRICKS.
Payne just got his contract guaranteed. He's in Phx to stay. Also...it would have been incredibly stupid to trade him. Wainwright isn't great but Booker loves him and he's a great locker room fit. So no...stop saying stupid shit
LOL This guy doesn't know the Suns. Josh was deadly from both those spots during the regular season. He missed most of the last month of the regular season. He was pressed into action and probably rushed out too early. Know the team
I didn’t hear anybody say the suns needed more shooting. I’ve heard repeatedly that they need defense and depth. I didn’t know Yuta was a Kawhi and LeBron stopper or even an helper and the most minutes he’s averaged is 16 a game and 5 ppg. This video got me confused lol.
As a nets fan from abroad this signing hurt I loved watching yuta play for the nets and when he wasn’t in rotation it hurt at the end of the season . I wish him the best at the suns but his signing hurts more for me than KD
