There should be an invitational where every entrant is the best of their respective character, with 86 entrants in total. Characters without a definitive "best" could earn entry via dittos.
Ok, but what do you do with players like Riddles, who is the best Terry in the world, and arguably the best Kazuya? Does he pick one and let someone else take the other? Or does he play both and hope that he doesn't have to face himself?
@@micahbarrus8406 I feel within this idea of a tournament he only plays one, presumably Terry, and then the Kazuya goes to like Axiom XL or someone. Tea’s Kazuya is probably better than Riddles, but he’d surely take Pac Man. My choice would be to give Acola Kazuya and Onin Steve, but that also feels a little weird. This tournament would never happen though, it’s just a fun thought experiment.
ZSS and Bayonetta still have solid potential in Smash, even after their big nerfs. I know this tournament wasn't as stacked as many, but can we actually give Niko, Kirbykid, and Lima the credit they deserve? They took down some big names this tournament. Also congrats to Marss; he was on fire 🔥
@@illford 3 things : hands issues, he doesn't know how to apply the matchup and bayo has good tools against Wario. I'm more impressed about how close the set were but I was 100% sure Gluto would lose. Doesn't make B4E a better player than Gluto
A much needed win for Marss, not only for the obvious confidence boost but also the added incentive for doing good in connection with his streaming career. Dude went from 700 subs to 1000+ in his one hour scuffed celebration stream and it’s all the more reason for him to stay motivated. Top 10 Marss? We’ll have to wait and see 😌
@@damarihanson3876 Hard not to be a fan of a person with the qualities he has. He might not practice all the time, but he’s a competitor. He might not be too 5 anymore, but that just makes it feel all the more better when he gets wins like these. I missed out on seeing him thrive pre-Covid in his prime, so I’m not gonna miss out on seeing him grow as he is in this meta
Also can I just say how much I've loved the production from a stream viewer at LTC and CEO, just all the easy-to-read stats that come up during the stream are great.👏👏
Agreed fr fr while the stream time was kinda scuffed(missing whole Friday and ignoring multiple intense loser brackets{like Axe wizzrobe and hbox bass}) it was very comfortable watching. They show the brackets , Stats, runs and upsets clearly
To clarify on bloom's wins, gluto stated today on twitter : "He's very strong and I need to play the MU better, simple. Tendinitis or not, it's just an additional difficulty, I have to deal with it. It's 100% useless to wonder what would have happened without it."
Marss is my goat for sure, honestly since the start of the game. He is so inspiring to watch play, and when he’s playing good he feels so dominant, even at last hit. HOWEVER, I know that he and ZSS have a tough time against DLC (and olimar 😬). I know he has it in him to take them down, but I also havent seen or heard of him grinding out those matchups specifically.
I think everyone who plays a base-roster character has trouble with DLC (ESPECIALLY fp2 DLC). Honestly, that shows how meta-breaking the FP2 characters are. Almost every top player uses one of them, now (as a main or as a secondary). And those who don't are not the top dogs (besides Light, Sonix, and Kola).
FP2 characters are unique for sure but its not like base roster has trouble against them. Pretty sure the struggle is mainly because of less matchup experience
Im so proud of Lima, i aspire to be like him! i havent ever gone to a local tournament or any offline events, but i think i could have a shot at being a good bayo
Lima qualifying is actually pretty exciting. Hype to see a bayo on the big stage. After how far she was buried in nerfs I'm the move to ultimate. And bloom's results are really impressive too.
Unfortunate that Hellena Taylor couldn't reprise her role, but its probably due to Covid Lockdowns that kept her from going to a studio to record lines compared to Jennifer Hale who most likely does a lot of work at home.
Honestly, despite this impressive turnout, I still don’t think Bayonetta or ZSS are that good. Solid, of course, just like any other character in the game, but not unknown top tiers or anything. I though even before the nerfs ZSS needed to be more rewarded off throws to be top tier and Bayonetta is even worse in that regard. With ZSS, she has an extremely unsafe grab with little reward even when you do manage to land it. Bayo’s is more safe, but comes with even less reward. The best they can get off grabs is 50/50’s. In ZSS’s case, it doesn’t matter quite as much because she has safe moves on shield, but pretty much all of Bayo’s moves are worse than -5 on shield and let’s not even get into how minus they are with special lag. As a former ZSS turned Bayonetta main who’s trying to drop for Joker, I can say with confidence that it’s much more the player than the character in this case.
@@ohjonny95 When Bayo got her final buff in the kaz update then yes and maybe even 8.0 Bayo too but Pre 8.0 Bayo was a low tier character that barely worked this character was fixed by a lot of patches that made her best attributes stronger and more consistent Namely her strong disadvantage and combos
another notable upset you didn't mention was Scottish Pac Man main Octave (109th seed) beating Sintro's ROB (20th seed) in a dominant 2-0 also shoutouts to Mazebeans getting 9th and taking a game off Gluto at his first ever tournament outside of the Uk
Talking about UK players, Shaneak also managed to add another pretty strong run to his resume as a top level UK threat too. After his run at Boss Battles where he placed 13th, almost upsetting Sisqui in a nailbiter set and upsetting CurryGovenor, he managed to upset Flow and Ogey at VCA, taking a game off B4E as well in his run. With Space (who beat Fatality) and Shaneak, EU Inklings are a pretty strong threat right now.
Why don't you guys cover middle east majors were a up and coming reigon with a lot of good players but we don't trval3s but watch us so please cover us
Mona and i were originally supposed to split this video with them covering the LTC portion, however their voice was shot and they asked me to cover both for them this week
Players of any region are allowed, the Panda Cup only has events in North America but it isn’t limited to NA players. The only Japanese player to qualify for the Panda Cup so far is aMSa.
I fuckin love this channel. Also it's awesome to see a smash bros vid ft bayonetta that doesnt have mfin smash 4 mentioned ughhhh im so sick and tired of hearing about how she "BROKE THE META" when those sweaty idiots coulda just re-legalized custom moves, yk, fight fire with water!!!!!!!
As much as I love the current smash competitive scene, I can't really bring myself to watch all the sets. But seeing your videos and hearing you hype up every win and every storyline is a pleasure to watch. Love your videos and their amazing quality, keep up the superb work
