Yes they are virtually same rifle.

Weatherby Vanguards are manufactured by Howa machinery LTD. A Howa 1500 is literally just a Weatherby Vanguard with the Parent Company's name on it instead of Weatherby. (This was also true for the Smith & Wesson 1500) The parts are not just interchangeable, THEY ARE THE SAME PARTS. Hope this helps.

I was curious, because MDT does not recommend their bolt knob on a weatherby , but it is made for a Howa 1500@@rdsii64
