I thought the same. I always thought garbage companies instruct their drivers to dump their load if it’s on fire. Make a mess in the street, but save the expensive truck.
They know something. That is a defensive attack. All you commenters can't know whatever they know. There are a lot of dead firemen who ran up and stuck their face into something they shouldn't have.
what a total shambles. This is what makes a bad name for firefighters. First up truck should/could have opened the back to get to the rubbish. Why did it take so long to get water on the fire and that was a waste of water. maybe a bucket would have been better to just fill the garbage truck up with water
@@rearspeaker6364 i think the fire dept on this one is more wasted. i just saw second video on this and the cut a hole in the side of the body and using what looks like a pressure washing line then a 1.75" before going back ot a tiny line with a ladder truck it is really pathetic ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aBBcstJr490.html
@@Brian13549 Its CNG, not LNG- they didn't want to spend the money for liquification faculties at all their locations. they get about 200 miles on full tanks. If that was LNG, they would have to evacuate a half mile radius around that truck.
I would guess that the officer had a reason for having his crew not approach it and use the gun. A lot of monday morning quarterbacks that need all their decisions critiqued. We will never know the whole story since we did not see it from the time it was called in, no info from the driver, could not see the truck close up, and no thoughts from the officer. But hey, keep tearing them down. It is the fire service and that is what the fire service is known for.
Lord help. I have had a garbage truck fire in my coverage area and there a pain to put out. You can't put it out like that. With a deck gun. You have to have a ground ladder 🪜 a fire hose and good SCBA cause that trash hydraulic oil burn will KILL UR ASS!!
