I'm with ya. I actually met him in person right after I learned to play this song on my guitar. He performed in Alexandria Virginia at a concert venue that I was working at called The Birchmere. He's so down to earth. I was smoking a cigarette and he came outside to the smoking area. ❤

I was inspired to sing it after seeing Howie perform it with Better Than Ezra when he was a fan at their concert. Howie was in Indianapolis after spending the day recording his then new album in Bloomington, IN at Mellencamp's studio. Thanks for wonderful song.

I'm in my 60s and this was one of the last great songs recorded (2004). You missed all of the great music of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. They don't make THAT kind of music anymore! The 90s were okay. After around 2005, it all went in the toilet...with few exceptions like Ne Yo, Calvin Harris, and The Weekend.

You're lucky to have had such a wonderful woman to call your wife. I don't believe life ever goes the way we plan or expect. I thought as I aged the disappointments would lessen, the playing field would even out. But instead, I find myself feeling everything more keenly than before. If only there WAS a reset button.
