For me drinking Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey is my favorite liquor and I was playing around with complementary things to eat with it and I found that for me I love vanilla wafers while drinking whiskey to me complement each other and this liquor here with the banana flavor makes me think that it might be good with the banana flavor. If you had maybe some vanilla extract mixed in with the liquor, it might turn it into a playful drink similar to banana pudding or banana cream pie. Definitely some good options here for creating and mixing.
I'm a huge fan of the UFC, but when I bought this I had no idea it was the official whiskey of the UFC. I just happened to be looking for a new bourbon at the shop, and this is the first time I bought a whiskey as a result of the artwork catching my eye. Love the logo, and this is a pretty decent whiskey! Not my fave, but it's fun and I like the nose notes haha
@@ishmael802dana doesn’t own it, he signs a contract for some-some percentage of the sales profit. All he has to do is promote it on the UFC -> more sales-> more chunk of the profit. Ownership will mean Dana has a say in the making process, label design, bottle design, distribution areas, etc.
Nose: Close your eyes first. The nose definitely is NOT a banana popsicle. Think of ripe bananas with with the dark brown spots on them. Rich, sweet, but not sickeningly so. Viscosity: A definitely higher appearance than straight bourbon. Not “too clingy” as you swirl it around. Another excellent chance to appreciate the wonderful aroma. Palate: The first taste delights the tip of the tongue, progressing down the tongue’s center. You instantly notice the distinct lack of the “burn” experienced from some 80-proof bourbons. Howler head goes down very smoothly. Also, there is a definite lack of high sugar irritation to the posterior oropharynx common in very sweet libations. Excellent. Aftertaste: There was definitely a subtle spiced aftertaste to the sides and underneath of the tongue. Again, just enough to sear the taste into your memory without remaining too dominant for too long. Do NOT confuse this with a liqueur. This is definitely beyond this. A wonderful dessert addition to a good meal is more like it.
You should do their marketing, I passed this up today and after reading your comment I'm probably going back for the bottle. I have no idea what a "posterior oropharynx" is but it sounds legit and I like banana with pineapple and lime juice so I guess I'll treat this like a mid range rum, not to mention the bottle looks cool and would be good for demerara syrup when I finish it.
I'd like to try this stuff at cask-strength. Other than a few special whiskeys (Buffalo Trace, Tomatin 12-year sherry-casked, and Old Forester 1910), I don't get anything lower than 100 proof.
I liken it to banana popcicle flavor. And as much as it's not the one you break out for the sole purpose of impressing company, it's nice and yummy to sip.
It can’t be a Bourbon if it’s under 80 proof. Just a heads up. Good review though! Sounds like a lot of people liked the banana flavor. I’ll have to try it.
True if we stated that that a ops on our part. A slip of the tongue. There are many rules for bourbon to be called bourbon. Thanks for keeping us on our A game. Cheers 🥃
I still can't bring myself to try this. I love banana bread, but like you, I generally do not enjoy banana flavour. Maybe I can find a sample. Eitherway, good to hear your thoughts! Cheers!
A lot of time was spent talking about how it is probably artificial flavor and chemicals from scientists. A one minute google search will show that it is all natural flavors.
Yeah sometimes we just don’t do enough research before we do a review. We are just having fun and don’t take ourselves to seriously. Hope you still enjoyed the show. Cheers 🥃
