I always leave spiders in my house and plants if they're not bothering anyone 😂. They help kill the fungus gnats in the soil of my plants. By the way love hoya wayetii! Thank you so much for another amazing video!!!
Thank you 🌱 This hoya actually puzzled me when I saw it in the plant nursery the first time. It was titled as Hoya Wightii and it looks nothing like it. I was standing in front of the plant nearly 20 min trying to figure out its species. When I did get it figured out and saw its mature form and its flowers it was less than a minute until I bought it. In the nursery they kept it was inside (low light and air-conditioned area), I was instructed to water it frequently and keep it shaded. I followed the instructions for a week but the ending of all the branches dried so I assumed I treat it wrong. I have some other Hoya plants with different leaf thickness and couldn't find any logical explanation for this sort of treatment, I am glad I followed my intuition and got to your information video and channel. Thanks again for sharing this information! I hope my plany will recover.
This is the only Hoya I have. She’s hanging from a skylight in my kitchen, so she gets plenty of light but unfortunately not much air flow. Now that the heating is on some tendrils are drying their tips. I got her two years ago and she’s growing very full and happy. She’s also flowered last month from two peduncles!! I water her maybe twice a month. Very low maintenance, I simply love her!

@@GusTeasPlants I smelled just a faint sweet scent, but only if I went very close to them. The flowers lasted less than a week but I think they’re gorgeous with their deep burgundy colors.
That’s fascinating! I love hearing peoples outcomes with plants, mine lasted a bit over a week close to 2 weeks and it developed a much sweeter tart fragrance as the days progress maybe it is also affected by the location of indoors and outdoors when it comes to scent
@@GusTeasPlants yes, I feel that indoors they don’t do as well as outdoors but unfortunately my climate is quite harsh during winter and too hot during summer

Hey! Thanks for your comment (: As for propagating I recommend you just do in in soil! This Hoya is very low maintenance and will root in anything however I recommend regular pre-maid soil “fox farms” is a good brand or any soil with perlite and orchid bark
I just scored a big one in a 6 inch pot from a big box store and it is super full!!! However, it is soaked and not in great soil. Should I repot it or let it settle first. I have the appropriate soil for it when it is time.
This Hoya is such an easy grower, rite? I hope yours continues to grow, mine is outside under my trees in the plain cold and it can to later really low temps with active growth
Im really glad I saw this video, just starting collecting Hoyas and didn’t know how expensive they are. I do have a wayetii cuttings and trying my best not to kill it. I have it in leca, do you think I should repot it in soil. Also it’s in my bathroom so I will move it out in my living room. Thanks for sharing ,🌱🌵- Gloria from SA Texas.
Leca should be fine just asking as you keep it not so wet it should work fine, I’ve never used leca for my Hoyas just orchid bark potting mix and perlite with coco coke and husks, Thank you so much for taking the time to comment it means a lot to me thank you 🙏🏻 best of luck with you hoya and hoping it grows massive for you
I have different Hoyas but somehow Wayetii keeps dying on me. The leaves get rotten when I water it, even the first water 😢 I’m on my 4th Wayetti now determined not to kill it.
Definitely don’t need to fertilized this Hoya.. I don’t fertilize none of my Hoyas actually and specially not during the colder months, it probably already absorb the fertilizer but I would recommend repotting with new mix
Just look at how the leaves look… this plant does not need much water if the leaves are puckered and plump it’s good….. if in doubt try feeling the leaves and try closing them like a hard taco shell.. if your able to close it like a taco it needs water .. leaves should be hard and not be bendable
I find the Wayetti Variegata is the HARDEST to root, all my others have been quick and simple. My Hoya Wayetti Variegata got repotted recently and she's dropping leaves and it's driving me insane
Tha green house sent my hoya wayetii in the worst conditions possible and the worst part was the delivery lost it so when she arrived she was half dead, super wet and lost a lot of leaves and keeps losing it and also her external blances were cut. Now I have her in a window, i dried her and I hope she doesn't die. WIsh me luck.
Omg that horrible! I would get a top cutting and have that grow for me, take pictures and send them to the seller and get your money back or start a claim with ur bank and get the money back I’ve done it before always in my favor,, wishing you best of luck

I made the photos and published a review in Google Maps, and that's all I could do, they had the nerve to offer me a 20% discount in my next buy (like i was going to buy from them again, yeah), but thank you. Por eso mismo yo no ordeno muchas plantas en estas epocas de frío, si ordeno pero me limito a la clase de plantas, espero y si puedas rescatar a tu hoya
