He’s also very easy to farm for…Oceanids are one of the first bosses you can get to in Liyue, silk flowers are pretty much in one area, and you fight hilichurls everyday.
I think Lisa and Kaeya are the right characters at that stage of the game. Along with the great possibility that if you do wish earlier in the game you’re going to be blessed with a qiqi
@@muelzkid88 Kaeya's burst can't hit the flying enemies very well at all. If those one's spawn, he's screwed. So you have to leave and come back and hope you get other spawns if you are relying on him. Lisa probably does do a lot better. So that's a good point. I didn't build her though because the whole unprovoked and constantly repeated "cutie" thing really turned me off. There's 17 5* options on the standard banner. I wouldn't call getting qiqi a great possibility. And if that's her only use, I don't think she's worth it to level. I thankfully still haven't gotten her. I built Bennett because I got him early and he wouldn't be a wasted investment later in the game. But I had trouble getting enough energy recharge early in the game and with him at c0 and I got vaporized to death in his burst. I was able to return to the oceanid after getting Yoimiya as my first limited 5*.
@@Elrog3 Thankfully, I was a Razor main on my low AR days (started 1.1, first Zhongli banner). His hold E skill deletes the annoying hydro birds with ease
I feel like he's one of those characters that's so good that it's actually bad for the long term health of the game since it makes him the default Hydro character for a lot of teams, so it's kind of nice that they're designing characters that specifically don't work with him. My personal wish is that he doesn't work well with Furina at all.
It's good and bad to have those kinds of characters. It provides a stable f2p environment to enjoy the game up to its hardest content, but it also sets the bar for what a good character in the role is, which can be boring if you don't especially like that specific character. The fact that Yelan needs at least c2 to do better than him in some teams, and is still worse in others because of the lack of defensive utility, despite being a limited 5*, says too much. The hydro archon doesn't even seem like she'll be stronger than him in a lot of teams and will instead be her own archetype because of the healing requirements. His existence made Candace useless, despite her having a decent kit if you look at it in a vacuum. That said, I have never used him because I don't like his design, and I still cleared 36* abyss consistently for years. Despite how good he is, he's still not required.
@@wellwellwell881I dont like him either so I dont use him despite knowing he is the hydro archon, but out of curiosity what teams you use to 36 the abbyss? The highest I got was 35, but usually I am stuck on 33
@@SzczurzyslawaI really like Nahida, Kuki, Alhaitham, Xingqiu team. It’s been so good in every abyss so far. Everything just dies 😅 (The other side chances depending on the enemies.)
@@Szczurzyslawa Sorry 😅 I clearly didn’t understand the assignment :) I’ve tried it with Fishl and Kokomi too and it’s ok, just a little annoying not to have any resistance to interruption.
two little corrections: his rainswords don't go away while in his burst, so the only thing his C1 gives is a tiny bit more healing and I guess a tiny bit more reliable resistance to interruption. also external damage bonus buffs like kazuha do not affect his damage reduction.
And one more, the new Battle pass weapon requires tye character to be on field to trigger the Crit rate buff, so it's not any better than the black sword.
@@guiscardaddams8745 It's much better actually, due to the unconditional 16-32% DMG bonus for both skill and burst. The Crit Rate buff needs to be triggered on-field, but a C4+ Xingqiu doing Q+normal+E+(normal)+swap or something like that can trigger 2-5 rainswords which means 2-4 stacks of Crit Rate buff for his burst without having to extend on-field presence, so it's pretty good. For Xingqiu, R1 Wolf-Fang deals similar damage as R1 Skyward Blade. R5 Wolf-Fang deals similar damage as R1 Haran and R1 Mistsplitter. The Black Sword has same Base ATK (510) and Crit stat (27.6CR) but its passive offers nothing beneficial for Xingqiu.
It gives also more interruption resistance in a way, because with 3 rainswords your pg is not full covered in every angle, but with 4 it is. (Yes if you get hit by something where there is no rainsword you get staggered, so with 4 rainswords it's impossible to get staggered by mid-stagger attacks while with 3 you can still get staggered if you are unlucky)
@@guiscardaddams8745 I think losing 8-10 seconds in a strict 18-20s rotation's worth of 8-16% Crit Rate is still acceptable, at least for me, since most of the time his primary role is as hydro applicator (sub-dps is secondary and usually deals much less damage in comparison to the team's main-dps), although probably we can just adjust his base Crit Rate a bit (not too low)
Once I got c4, I always did burst first and then skill because it makes the skill do 50% more damage. I'd just stay on Xingqiu and normal attack a little to make sure he'd still catch the particles. But I also crowned Xingqiu's skill, so that's a high investment for a lot of people.
Oh hello fellow player who crown Xingqiu's skill 😁✋I thought i would keep using him for a long time and it deals good damage at C4 (double with Sac) so why not xD
When this banner started I didn't have fischl yet and only had 1 copy of Xinqiu. Got 3 Hu Taos, C6 Xingqiu and 2 copies of Stringless before she finally came home... Working on building all 3 now
All the rumors about Xingqiu are real. He's really that good. I hope everyone who didn't have him, gets a copy pulling on this banner. Fischl as well. Even if people don't want the 5 stars on this banner, it's so worth throwing 30-40 wishes just to get him. Or Fisch. If you know you know, 😅. Good luck to all y'all, on y'alls wishes!
@@jason200912Xiangling is either a bit better or a bit worse than Fischl depending on your constellations and account, and Xingqiu is better than both (I mean, being the best character in the game this isn't very surprising 😂)
Help me out, I need 8 starglitter to get Bennett next month but I’m on 55 pity and a guarantee and I’m saving it for raiden so I can’t summon for more, is there a chance he’ll come back in December
@@kingdead3729 You can try getting blue fates from exploration, leveling up characters, statues, etc and wish on standard for the starglitters. Also buy the 5x intertwined and 5x blue from the stardust shop if you haven't.
Sucrose is pretty bad to use so I would never recommend her. Fischl is just kinda bad for cryo characters, so depending on an account I can see some people having no reason to invest into Fischl, pretty much only for aggravate. Bennett is a generally good support so yeah. So as Xingqiu. Xiangling can also be slept on, but she has more general usefullness than Fischl.
When I started Genshin last year, he was one of the first 4-stars I pulled. I asked my friend if he was good and they said no, so I never built him. Fast forward to a few months ago and I discover he’s one of the best characters in the game! My friend is still against using him, but I’m just glad one of my favorite characters is someone I can happily build and use!
Ur friend must have tricked u or he’s just a clown, I’m a new player and my team has been improved in damaged since I got Xingqiu from free on recent lantern rite, and he’s never leave my party ever since
I’ve been playing since the end of 2.1, have him C6, and I still learned stuff in the first 10 minutes of this video 😅😅😅 thanks for the thorough deep dive!
Using him with Yelan, benifit more Yelan than him, since his Rainswords (past C2) reduce Hydro res. XQ has more particle generation and Hydro app. XQ can use fav/sac without much dmg loss compared to Yelan who has sign damage weapon. Double Hydro gives HP%.
That moment when you had him since your very first ten pull and he's been sitting in your teams since then and you just cannot stand his face anymore but you cant kick him because no one else plays his roll as perfectly as he does- PLEASE someone save me from his curse, even my Yelan works best with him as double hydro 😩
I haven't build him since forever because I don't have his constellation and I also have Yelan, now that I have his C6 this video came at the right time! Looking forward to your Fischl video, another character that I'm looking to build next.
A good question, whether one can do without Xingqiu. I remember those days very well: fighting with Anemo MC, Kaeya, Xiangling and Noelle, with each fight lasting like 5 minutes at least, healing at the Statue of Seven after each such fight.... No, I really prefer playing with Xingqiu on my team. Even and especially with Yelan. My overworld team is C0 Nahida/C0 Yelan/C6 Xingqiu/C1 Kuki. And I wish I had Yelan's E1, I will get it during her next re-run.
I was lucky enough to get Xingqiu the same day as Kaeya so he’s one of my starter characters. Kaeya-Xingqiu combo carrying me to the end game. Nahida, Kuki, Alhaitham and Xingqiu team current favourite. He has never left my team for three years. He’s a monster as a lvl 90 fully crowned C6. Couldn’t even imagine GI without Xingqiu, he’s such an integral part of my account. I’d rather give up Bennett.
with skill/burst timing, his c4 buffs his skill damage while his burst is active so if can be optimal depending on your energy needs (normally optimal if you have him on sacrificial)
I love how you got the bigger named Genshin RU-vidrs but he is just better at connecting with the general players and explaining stuff to the general where the bigger RU-vidrs they probably whale out and can’t really relate .. but yeah awesome stuff
he's the closest thing to a must build in the game but i hate him so much. one upside is he doesn't really need any artifacts. in this abyss i forgot to put any artifacts on him he only had fav sword. still crushed chamber 3 with alot of time left over.
The perception of the CN community is that miHoYo has created some basic 4-star partners in order to maintain its F2P friendliness. For example, Bennett and Xiangling, Beidou and Fischl, Collei and Dendro Traveler, players need to spend two slots to get the most benefit. But Xingqiu is Army of One.
Ar60 and I have 60+ characters, almost all “meta” characters, and I think Xingqiu is the one who’s stuck around most consistently for my abyss runs. It’s wild. I should probably make him 90 just out of appreciation, but I am stingy about my xp books. I always love to see the simps raging that Yelan is better in comments. He was so great, they just made a side grade copy of him into a limited 5*. Yelans best role is to literally just be a 2nd Xingqiu. And they work great together so it’s funny that people thought Xingqiu would get replaced.
2:17 I think you meant to say "while he's OFF-field". 😅 Xingqiu is great; i bought him from the shop and got him to c3 with this banner. Whether it's abyss or overworld; hyberbloom, freeze, or vape, i always have him or kokomi in my team, and it's really just up to which one i feel like using at the moment.
i stopped using him when yelan came out . im too tired of using a character that i hate just so i could 36* the abyss. altho when 4.0 came, i started using him again so that i could play vape klee. i hope furina's application is comparable to him to allow a vape klee playstyle.
His c1 is even weaker. You talked about how the swords go away when you get hit. However when you use his burst, then they wont go away In that case his c1 os just a bit more healing because every sword heals
@@newgate-zerohourayyyyyy. But I will say, Beidou walks a thin line without c1. The shield makes her so much more valuable if you don’t have good shields like Zhongli or something.
@@chrisplaysdrums09 very true, I run her in a team with Childe, Fischl and Faruzan and that's very much a glass cannon comp. Without her shield the team would never realistically work
I got him and didn't realize what I had and just lucked into C6 before I saw people on here saying he was awesome so I built him. He's now my favorite character and one of my main party members.
I checked the banners and I would not call Hoyo stingy about his banner appearances. There's tough competition for banner appearance nowadays and he still appears in banner four times a year. There are 4*s that have it worse than that. Plus he's a regular in Paimon's shop. 13:50 I found Nilou just fine for current F12 second half even without Xingqiu. Actually I used him in first half together with Yoimiya. But I guess current Abyss is just easy, I even used my Nilou team in chambers with dendro specters and just Nilou/Kokomi's hydro DPS were enough to get rid of them. Though I guess I could write it up to the fact that I leveled up all my Nilou's talents to 8 so she actually can do damage beside her bloom mechanic.
Can you make a meta-contrarian team building guide? Nobody does a "get the most out of your (non-meta character)" series to my knowledge. The only advice RU-vidrs usually have for building characters like Candace or Dori is to get Xingqiu or Fischl usually. ...And not a slap the national or double hydro core on them and call it a day vid. Too easy lol.
It is an interesting idea, but you want teams where everyone is off-meta or more like you want charatcers who are off-meta integrated into meta teams? Because Dori can be used as hyperbloom activator and Candace is pretty good with Nilou.
Yeah because to make them good you need high understanding about game mechanics like gauge unit, icd... which're very confused, people are lazy so they just use popular characters coz everyone talk about them and already squeezed all their kits
I just don't want it to be "put Dehya in monopyro and let team carry her" or "insert bad character in 4th hyperbloom slot" stuff. The "bad" character needs to do something, you feel me?
@@ThatGuyFromLI Sadly majority still show the same meta teams, I'm sick of those I only see that in whale players where their weapons and artifacts are above good, so lately I'm watching some Chinese youtubers, very new experiences
You'd have to search a forum or something. RU-vidrs are usually uncapable of such creativity. Me personally I can make like 10 different teams with Klee as a Klee main, none of them with "top meta" characters either. Imo most of the the "top meta" characters are ugly and boring anyways. Lol
I got Xingqiu in the first 20 pulls for new player, but didn't build him properly because I sucked at fighting the Oceanid. Then I got to AR50 with a decent team to fight her quickly enough to not feel tiring.
Damn my main had been tighnari and i was so excited to get xingqiu, then i got him today and was like hmm. I thought he was the best hydro applicator. It’s bc i almost never use tighnari’s normal attack 😅. Going to have to figure out some different team comps.
nahida xingqiu fischl and bennett is the best budget team you can get and can also do most of the reactions like vaporize electrocharged, bloom, hyperbloom ,burgeon etc.
I just want a hydro character that works well with tighnari. I have tighnari & nahida and I love them both, but I really like using tighnari as my main DPS.
I just got him and I'm working on getting the new weapon for him; both because I'm ftp and because I find the idea of the Xingqiu, the cultured swordsman, wacking people with a metal pipe hilarious.
32:54 C0 Yelan is all you need for open world. I run her with Mona, Sayu and Lynette for a full taxi team. AR50, with Mona’s burst and VV shred she destroys any overworld content (except hydro resistant mobs of course)
With c1 you don't need sayu or lynette in between because her uptime is so high already and stamina will never run out. You can bring someone with some vertical capabilities instead like wanderer or kazuha.
One of the two characters I wish would be deleted from the game. Xingqui is ridiculously overpowered, overused and one of the "MOST BORING" units because of that. With Hydro application, dmg reduction, healing, interrupt resistance etc. it's just to much. Especially for a 4* character and I'm glad that Hoyo is finally taking a new path and releasing onfield characters that don't mesh with normal attacks. The other is Kazuha. Horribly unbalanced unit. DMG Bonus, insane grouping and res shred. To this day I don't know what the developers were thinking with these two characters.
Someone who speaks out of my mind. I still use Kazuha occasionally for mono teams. I think this is his best slot but I wouldn't mind if his DMG buff was limited to mono teams or something, to make him more balanced. As for Xingqiu, I rarely use him anymore. As a 4* alternative, I often take Candace with me instead, even if her Hydro application doesn't come close to Xingqui's. The block/parry mechanic makes her gameplay much more fun and unique.
@@Suzy292002 I don't mean that sarcastically. I just think that Hoyo made a big mistake in 1.0 regarding Xingqui and his power level, which they can't undo due to the legal situation.
I got lucky and got Xingqui as one of my first- scratch that, he was the second 4 star I got from any banner(it was standard btw) I mained him until 4.0 pretty much, I don’t REALLY main anyone now I use everyone equally, tho Xingqui is still the best built.
I know he's good for other people but for me he just makes my abyss clears take longer. Ran hu tao, yelan, him, and Jean thru a chamber then pulled him ran the chamber again with just the 3 and it was faster and way more fun to play.
@@Kalavalsar yeah her or kokomi depends on what I'm running. Hu tao burgeon I prefer kokomi but Jean works to. I took my hu tao, yelan, ayaka, jean team and killed the seahorse in 12-1-1 in 36 seconds.
@@Kalavalsar yeah well c6, I didn't do the burst into hu tao big number thing though lol. I just used her to take down the shield before I used yelan and hu tao.
@MrJayslayerjay Okay, well, so you are really going for a speed running pathway with Ayaka then. I just don't quite understand why someone would run Hu Tao and Jean together because I'm assuming you've already understood how her kit works optimally at most. For the traditional Hu Tao double hydro team, Xingqiu's damage reduction and little healing are enough. If bringing Jean is for VV shred purpose, then isn't it better to bring Kazuha instead and running VV vape with Bennett or with Sucrose's setup? For Kokomi in Hu Tao Burgeon, she is a reasonable pick. Ah, but then again, just play whatever works the best for you and as long as you're having fun. Who am I (a low spender) to judge people' preferences lmao. Each to their own.
Ughhh! I was so excited when I saw this video…I honestly think I didn’t understand but about 5% of that. Arghh!!! I’ve been playing forever and I still don’t get all these terms! I would up with a c6 xingqiu (I could not stop pulling him for some reason) that I have no idea what to do with…🤦🏻♀️ I wish someone could explain all of this so I could understand… 😢
I think he is Hoyo's biggest mistake. He is so good that he makes all new hydro characters feel bad to play. They should have never let this happen. Same thing goes with Xiangling for Pyro characters.
I thought vape does more damage with pyro applied first then hydro..so wouldn't you apply your pyro first, then come in with Xingqiu and then Kazuha for swirl?
My God I just got him for free recently through the recent Lantern Rite and my team become unbeatable 😂 My Team combination r Traveler Dendro or Kirara, Raiden & Xingqiu. Hyperbloom r superb ❤
Nowadays only hutao team wants XQ, other team didnt necessarily must use him again. Theres childe / yelan in national n every other national varians. Same with tazers. Nilou need more aoe like kokomi, same as freeze team. Hyperbloom can use any team and preferably aoe hydro driver. Yes XQ is super valuable as he can be placed in so many teams but he is not the best choice in those teams for higher damage. Genshin end game mostly required damage not survavibility.
"Xingqiu Rain Sword DMG reduction does not take the Hydro DMG bonus gained from Kazuha's A4 into account. Because it's an attribute sharing effect which scale based on a character's own attributes, therefore would not factor in to calculations of further similarly scaling attribute sharing effects." Explanation does not really make sense to me... Wonder if it will be affected by certain coming damage buffer?...
@@Defi4nc3s1 tried to understand, and i think i got it: XQ DR increases other chars DR based on XQ hydro, if later they add char that increases others hydro based on own DR it will create infinite loop, so they added rule: abilities that give the team stats based on stat don't see each other. That means Furina buff should work on XQ as it is not based on her stats. If so it should be possible to get 100% DR (but probably there is cap)
The thing you didn`t talk about that much is how to continue to use your xingqiu optimally after you got Yelan. Like, to me i fell that outside intense vape teams, his new best usage after getting her is for more dendro seeds generation/hydro application with a little resistence shred&interruption 100% uptime kinda gameplay. There is no need to be/have high personal damage as for in those cases you will probably chose Yelan anyways. But, in a hyperbloom/burgeon team or even Nilou's is where he offers something that her simply dont, specially since he is not doing the majority of those team's damage (the seeds are). I honestly can't seem to bother 2000-3000 less damage per sword he is doing in my Ayato hyper comp somehow, for example. Xingqiu is simply that good. Up to this day (but not better than bennet, hot take)
No need to change his build for double hydro except that you can focus on more damage because you don’t need quite as much ER And no real need to change his team for hyperbloom or Nilou, having enough ER and as much damage as possible is still the way to go
Saying favonious is Xingqiu’s best 4 star weapon is the hardest disagree i’ve ever had with you. I agree with almost everything but that take is kind of wild to me. Sacrificial Sword has great regen and two uses of the skill basically means 100% uptime and tons of hydro particles.
Xingqiu pros: great hydro application, great interruption resistance, off-field support, great particle generation. Xingqiu cons: Hoyo, please get this kid some pants; his shorts are too short.
Furina is Neuvillette's best teammate if he is at C1. She is also good if you have strong teamwide healer like Baizhu, Kokomi, Jean, Charlotte, Noelle etc.
My boy finally he is home. I have a new account and i was desperate to get him. Oceanid is gonna be a pain in the ass to go against tho😢 Edit: I need an opinion i lack an anemo grouper i dont have Sucrose and Lynette doesnt group. Should i go for Venti or wait until Sucrose is on a banner? or get Furina instead? I dont know what to do
Venti or Kazuha should be able to do the job. Sucrose is…hard to play because of her long cooldown and sometimes she swirls the wrong element. As for Venti, he does only one job and that is grouping enemies but only small enemies but he does his job well. Kazuha is more like a “all rounder”. He helps with grouping. He gives a lot of EM. He helps with exploration A LOT. He increases your onfield character damage with his elemental damage bonus. If you didn’t have any good anemo character, you will feel his impact. Overall, he’s very versatile and easy and fun to play.
It depends on your goals: If you want 36* Abyss as soon as possible, Furina is likely the better pick because Hoyoverse is likely to make Furina the best character for the next Abyss during her release patch. I can assume a bonus for losing or healing HP again plus a lot of enemies weak to hydro just like the current Neuvilette promotion. If you really just want the grouper, Venti or Kazuha are likely who you should go for. Sucrose thanks to unreliable catalyst targeting is pretty bad at grouping because you don’t know where that skill or burst is going to hit: I’ve seen her throw her burst totally backwards one time… You can use better positioning to help, but if you’ve been dashing around for 3 seconds to get the enemies where you want them, you just did the grouping manually. Since I don’t have Venti or Kazuha, I prefer C4 Faruzan to C4 Sucrose as a grouper because I can put the pressurized collapse arrows where I want them. Faruzan however needs a shield or interrupt resistance if used as a grouper, but I find it more reliable. Another off meta tactic I use in the current monolith defence Abyss is to push enemies away from the monolith with either Noelle’s claymore or Overloaded reactions. They will target you after you knocked them about a polearm charged attack length away, and there is no timer so your lower DPS does not matter so long as the monolith is not targeted.
Funny that until late inazuma, I didn't even touch national team. But it did gets boring when you can bulldozer the game with mc and a certain shielder.
