The draw cycle will be different between the 2 bows due to where you fall in the draw mod. The Draw length ranges differ quite a bit for the 2 bows. I shoot a Ventum 33 at the bottom of the long mod but the Ultra I shoot at the top of the short mod. Makes a big difference on how they feel. The V33 is so much smoother on the back end than the Ultra is at my DL. I always recommend that anyone interested in these newer Hoyts, whether this years or last years, to go and shoot all 4 models all set to the same DL and to the same measured draw weight. They will likely feel very different
I think I’m one of the odd guys out this year, I think the ventum 30 felt better all around more so then the ventum 33 or the rx7. But they are all so close can’t go wrong with either

Haha the vertix is a badass bow man. That is the year mathew's bows started crushing the competition in my mind. Vertix, VXR, V3, V3X just producing unbeatable bows every since. You obviously shouldn't turn down a free bow but I would still take the vertix as the winner between the two. This is all my opinion though.
After seeing this video I’m definitely going to go down to the shop and give these a try! I love my Nexus and spent a good amount of time messing with the V3 (super smooth draw) but ready to broaden my horizons! Thanks for the videos and the help to all the vets!!!

Good review im looking forward to to the rx7 ultra only thing is my rx5 ultra at 29/71 is a lot faster its shooting a 527 grain arrow at 265 ,a 480 grain at 274 and a 445 grain arrow at 285 but that could be cause of a drop away rest and it's tuned

Shot the RX7 really like it very tempting, I thought the RX5 was a big change for Hoyt last year when I bought it. RX7 vs Ventum Pro 33 might be more similiar comparison to speed.
Save $700 and buy used Most bows since the 1990s are capable of the same accuracy. Remind yourself a guy with a recurve can shoot a pellet gun BB out of the air at 20 yrds.
Yep it just comes down to preference and how it feels in your hand. If you wanna spend $1,800 on a new bow because it feels great, fine. It's just when people try to justify it because they think it's that much more accurate that irks me.
I wonder what the actual poundage is between the 2 bows, I know that he said both had 70 pound limbs but there can be a few lbs difference between bow when limbs are bottomed out.
For your money. Which bow would you buy. Ventum Pro 33, Mathews VX3 33, or the SR350?? I currently shoot a Bowtech Reign 6 and a 520 grain arrow. 28 inch draw at 70lbs
I have shot since 1995, so I'm accustomed to bows that jump after release. Please explain to me why is hand shock a concern? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the arrow has already left the string so it doesn't affect accuracy, does it?
It won’t always affect the accuracy, it does however make it a lot more enjoyable to shoot a lot more shots. It’s a little easier on your arm to have it so smooth
Please review the 80lb hoyts. I’ve been searching and can’t find any content on the 80lb ones and that’s the ones I’m strongly considering this year. I’m more interested in the 30” ata bows but I’m curious how they feel, shoot and chrono.
Closest thing I’ve had with the new Hoyt’s at 80# was the ventum pro 30 at 80# 29” i drew it back, didn’t get to shoot it but it drew super smooth! Very impressed! I’m excited to get my 80# Rx7 ultra to do some more testing!

Well I've been agonizing over what to get for a few days now. Between the these two bows and the mathews v3. The shit eating grin you got from shooting the rx7 ultra has pretty much confirmed its worth the little bit extra money.

I wouldn't trade my 80lb rx5 for a a new rx7, I'll wait a few yrs, there is NOT much difference other than the look and rx7 is shy a few pounds which won't help you in the wind
That's a big question that's almost not able to be answered directly with a Yes or No because where might find value, others may not due to we all have different budgets. Now I will say comparing this years line up to last year's there's a major difference in overall balance and weight distribution. Hoyt did a fantastic job of getting the whole line near perfect so using a Picatinny sight would only further continue that design..
