The silence from the audience made me think that there was nobody listening, but nobody passing either. The crowd at the end, wow. Not even a cough while Hozier sings. Proud of you as another Irish person to have you representing the talent our country has to offer and our desire to better ourselves. Love your music. I wish you every happiness life can give, thank you for blessing my ears and heart with music.
Irish's singers always have the best vocal cords to sing. My Mother Was born here in United States but her heritage for her Grandmother and Grandfather is Irish :)
I'd be late for work. I'd get there and they'd be like "Where were you?" And I'd say "Hozier was in the subway. You best believe I stood there and waited. No regrets. Now write me up"
@@kiwichi4488 Being a "girl with a boyfriend" doesn't make you any less of a raging bisexual attracted to another woman. Not sure why you even bothered with the caveat.
This songs harmonies are the reason I sing every damn day I really really really wish to sing with Andrew someday and the whole group and just be able to be apart of those harmonies and be part of the power of the voice of the song
It's sweet watching them all get down in such a raw setting, no doubt, but i still think the recorded version hits harder. The drums really make it, and being pitched up a key drives the vocals home with more intensity. In my opinion, anyway. But this is still a treat for the ears.
That's a bad example considering what happened last time he sang beneath the earth, but on the other hand he might be singing here so his voice echoes all the way down to his love
Every time he stands up on his tippy toes my heart smiles a bit. Andrew, sir, you’re already very tall. I don’t know what the extra four inches are doing you. But it’s cute, don’t stop.
Leen Leen it was amazing. The sound of his voice and the bass of the instruments moved the entire building. There were moments when I felt like my body was about to vibrate so much I would through up. Also the live claps and background vocals were perfectly executed. I would recommend him live to ANYONE. His voice brings a whole new emotion when it’s live.
I watched an interview with him and he talked a bit about his Quaker upbringing when he was a child and said the main thing he took away from it is that there is the spark of the divine, the light of God in every individual. And I think it shows in his music. The vocals, lyrics, beat, it all comes together to go right into your soul and make you want to weep. He's a gem.
@@zoecanizares1007 Actually when you are strongly against something you can have similarity to it (or familiarity with it). What you hate can be influential.
I still watch you when you're groovin' As if through water from the bottom of a pool You're movin' without movin' And when you move, I'm moved You are a call to motion There, all of you a verb in perfect view Like Jonah on the ocean When you move, I'm moved When you move I'm put to mind of all that I wanna be When you move I could never define all that you are to me So move me, baby Shake like the bough of a willow tree You do it naturally Move me, baby You are the rite of movement Its reasonin' made lucid and cool I know it's no improvement When you move, I move You're less Polunin leapin' Or Fred Astaire in sequins Honey, you, you're Atlas in his sleepin' And when you move, I'm moved When you move I can recall somethin' that's gone from me When you move Honey, I'm put in awe of somethin' so flawed and free So move me, baby Shake like the bough of a willow tree You do it naturally Move me, baby So move me, baby Like you've nothin' left to prove And nothin' to lose Move me, baby Ooh, ooh, ooh Oh baby, oh baby Move like grey skies Move like a bird of paradise Move like an odd sight come out at night Move me, baby Shake like the bough of a willow tree You do it naturally Move me, baby So move me, baby Like you've nothin' left to lose And nothin' to prove Move me, baby So move me, baby Shake like the bough of a willow tree You do it naturally Move me, baby
“I’m put in awe of something so flawed and free”. Pretty much my feelings towards this performance. The only flaw being the lo-fi recording that captured it. What a moment that was 😮💨
funny because around 3:30 you start to see the entire band miss cues to keep the song going and hozier literally having to watch them to make sure they keep harmonizing
@@bellep9520 I rewatched it and realized that he panicky started gesturing to everyone in the band to continue, like it was "I fucked up, my bad, let's keep going"
I think it's amazing that he fucked up....the only time artists don't fuck up or improvise is when they lip sync or are singing over recorded version...We don't do that shit here. Also I heard he sang almost the entire album in the subway soooooo..........
It’s crazy to see stuff like this because it shows you just how talented these artists actually are. No auto-tune, no equalizer, hell, no mic! It’s just raw talent. Insane..
Two things I learned today. 1.) Hoizer has incredible control over his vocals. 2.) he has incredibly long fingers. Additionally: he looks great in boots.
Imagine waiting for a train listening to music with your headphones, then one slips out (Cos they always do). And you hear someone singing really well and doing a great rendition of one of his songs. And then you look. And fucking Hozier is there performing. Be weird. I mean, amazing. But weird.
I would just sit there all day.. even if I had to sit on the floor and just listen to him.. something inside of me just melts and .. ah.. it's inexpressible
The people over there are just so blessed and lucky. Imagine going to work in the morning and you think it's another boring day but then hear an angle singing to you.
Its VERY rare that musicians move me like him. Something about him sets him apart. Love the official video too. SO happy to see dancer Sergei Polunin again dancing for them. Sergei said it was dancing to "Take me to Church" that saved his dancing soul from exisiting ballet. Can see why. 💕
You people are sooo lucky and you should be grateful to be able to listen live the perfection of music❤️in the subway! I can only dream that he will visit someday my country… 😔
The fact that he doesn't need to shake and swing his hands all around the place like any other pop singer makes him a professional down to the core. No hype needed, its all in their voices.

Thank you to the band/background singers... Hozier is GREEEEAAAAATTTT by himself that I don't think it can get any better but you all do it effortlessly. Thank you so much. 😘😍👌 #eargasm
I want all of this 6'6 Irish Tall drink of water!! His voice makes me feel soo good. Something so nostalgic about his voice that I literally could listen to him for hours!!!
honestly this performance of this song feels like so spiritually moving , like a bunch of people just worshiping this anciently revered goddess of movement or something , just so transcending
Brilliant performance...so beautiful, so raw. Hozier, you have ruined it for me. I don't want to listen to any other music. I was at your show in Windsor, Ontario in August and was blown away. I am addicted to your music and lyrics. You have given me faith that real music does exist. xx
I just saw you live two weeks ago and this song live (actually every song you performed) was literally a blessing. So beautiful and talented, every single one of you in this video 😭🔥
