Going back to basics and checking the power rails leads to an "alive" unit - We're one step closer to getting it back working.

How do you not own one of the classic HP LCR meters? I picked up a Keithley 3320 many years back which handles my needs nicely.

I did but I ended up selling it as I didn't really use it and didn't have the space to dedicate to it - They're good units though.

You need to zoom in sometimes. When you're editing (on a twenty something inch monitor) you perhaps don't appreciate how difficult it is to see what you're talking about. At 2:59 you're talking about the zener, very difficult to see on a tablet or phone. At 4:47 you finally think to look at the voltage rails with the 'scope. At last! Here we are at part six and some steps that should have been in part one are finally appearing. At 5:17 it would be nice to hear what the size of the ripple actually is. We need to hear the peak and ripple voltages e.g. "That's peaking at six point nine Volts with seven hundred milli Volts of ripple below that. The ripple is at one hundred and twenty Hertz." At 7:15 you should have been zoomed in by a factor of three, just at 7:58 your thumbs and forefingers inadvertently show what should be the full screen. 7:38, that's not dew (a weather phenomenon) that's condensation.

Thanks - Condensation was the word I was looking for but couldn't find at the time.
