Thanks for your video! This is super helpful :). Question: I need to replace the motherboard, and its serial number is 686041-601, but I can't seem to find any replacements with that number. I can only find 686041-001. Do you know if that's a compatible replacement?
Hi there, I don't have the laptop anymore unfortunately, but from the video,. It's either the small round object just left of th chip set, (can be seen at around 13:21) or it is under the key board on the other side of the motherboard that's not shown here, hope this helps
@@limitsofabstraction entirely possible, i haven't had this device for a few years so anything i say is based on this vid and a blurry memory, i believe i used a single PH tip, but i may be wrong
@@HDGamersArchive But that would then suggest that at least it's feasible even with just a PH 0 or a PH 1. I just want to make sure I'd get the right model.
@@limitsofabstraction for taking this apart, a single ph1 should be fine, might need a bit of finesse while doing the smaller screws. if possible you may look into getting a set with multiple tips so you can be sure you have what you need.
