HP Photosmart C5280 All-in-One: How to Reset? If there are any problems with your HP Photosmart then try to reset - its really easy. It can be helpful if the printer display shows following message: "! Print Cartridges - Refer to Printer Documentation" or in german: "Druckerpatronen, Informationen im Druckerhandbuch".Click more for additional instructions in the text:
Instructions to do a semi full reset with HP C5280 Photosmart:
1. Press the buttons together: "print photo" + "red eye removal"
2. Printer will ask you to enter a special combo:
3. Press "red eye", "print photo", "red eye" in sequence
4. Scroll down until you find resets menu - press ok
5. Scroll down until you find semi-full reset -press ok
6. Photosmart C5280 should turn off, wait for 2 minutes before starting the printer

Saved me; lifesaver. My Photosmart 6200 printer was slightly different. After holding print photos and red eye simultaneously you get a menu in English. Use the right button to go to the reset menu, hit ok, you get countries/languages, then hit Ok again and everything resets in english.

Danke für den Tip, das hat bei mir auch funktioniert. Ich hatte vor einigen Jahren Kontakt mit dem HP Support wegen dem Problem. Es ist so, dass nach dem Einlegen einer Patrone ein Counter losläuft. Nach 18 Monaten verweigert der Drucker dann seinen Dienst. Natürlich kann man die alte gegen eine neue Patrone wechseln und der Drucker läuft wieder. Dabei ist es egal, ob in der alten Patrone noch genügend Tinte enthalten ist oder nicht.

that was awesome!!!THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK You. They keep this crap secrete. under warranty they helped me. after that. HP NEVER helped me again without wanting a crazy fee. Where there other tricks?Like I had to hold a button before and then turn it on I think.

hola amigo tengo una pero tiene un problema ella no enciende y le parpadean todas las luces al al encender y no da imagen de nada solo las luces y la luz naranja se mantiene encendida tambien me podrias ayuadar

very nice hint, but i used still my c5180 and the buttons are a bit different. specially i dont have the red eye correction. is there maybe a special same way to reset my all-in-one printer please? or is a new all-in-one the better way. I only use the printer and scanner. Above all, the price of cartridges against a new device is to be considered. thx

Yo utilice este metodo varias veces para reiniciar la impresora hasta que un dia luuego de eso la computadora no la reconocio mas, a que se debe , como se soluciona? Gracias

i tried the reset and i can't get past the MFG commands menu. the printer used to print okay but now i am stuck on that screen. my model is c5180 all in one. SOS tell me if you have a clue.

ALSO the easier way is to turn off printer by pressing POWER and CANCEL, then power it on using POWER and CANCEL, after this - error should be gone. :-)

my printer has been acting up ever since I changed the ink cartridges. I tried all the resets and its still not working. Even when i did a "Cleared hardware failure"- it prompts to align the cartridges and i click OK and it just does nothing as it acts busy. HELP! I am about to throw this printer in the trash!

eso no sirve hay que hacer el hard reset pero hp no te lo da hay que llevarsela al service ami me pone cartucho tricolor vacio consultar documentacion de la impresora, y el cartucho es nuevo no me lo quisieron cambiar compre otro y sigue igual es una verga esa impresora me quedo inutil solo me anda el scaner

em yo aun no tengo los cartuchos pero la opcion es la segunda esa que dice reset y nose que mas y le das a ok 2 veces y luego te aperece el idiota y de donde sos ami me aparece consulte documentos pero supongo q es xq aun no tengo los cartuchos

la stampante più tarocca che abbia mai avuto.... manco lo scanner non funziona più.... e le cartucce come le carichi, tempo qualche giono, si risvuotano, anche se non le usi. ASSURDO....

The carriage might become stuck on either side or in the middle of the product.
