My wife picked up the 4152e yesterday. We had been looking at high-end models but settled on something very basic and at a far lower cost. We rarely need a printer/scanner but when we do, it'll be nice to have something dependable. Thanks for the video.
I have the #4152 and though it is plain, simple, and inexpensive, I absolutely love it so far! I have had it since the end of August 2020. I am a 64yo woman, alone so I needed something that even I could maneuver without much ado, as I am not real tech-savvy! (who'd have guessed that?) I recently sold something and had to print off a copy of the receipt and we could NOT tell the difference between the original and the copy! Luckily, one of us had used a slightly different color ink on a number. I also can scan pictures from a detailed adult coloring book and if we use heavy enough paper, you'd never know the difference. I also got on the "Instant Ink" program with HP which made all of this even sweeter. And, YES, I have been happy with the program! Hope you all have as good of an experience as I have had! We need more positive these days, right?😊

thanks for the tutorial, it seemed very straightforward but I had endless problems connecting to the wifi network. Eventually it seemed to be OK but now, a day later, it won't maintain the connection although the wifi symbol is lit and steady. Sometimes I need to wake it up by pressing the 'X' button but that's no use for remote printing. Is there any way to stabilise the wifi connection? It's not a network problem, other printers are working fine. Thanks for your help and keep up the good work.
The only thing I can recommend is to turn the printer off and turn it back on. This would reset the WiFi connection. It would reconnect to your network automatically but would get a fresh local IP address from your Wifi router. Hope that helps. Thanks for the comment
I appreciate your tutorial, but still have questions. Our problem is we live in rural Wisconsin so our internet connection is sporadic, and our 4155 relies on internet. question 1: Thanks for pointing out the plug for the USB cord, but it's an unusual shape. Was it supplied with the printer, or must we buy one? question 2: I don't understand what the minimalist buttons do. I recognize the power button, but it either stays off or stays on all the time no matter how many times I press it. Sometimes it blinks no matter what I do. question 3: Sometimes I'm lucky with the internet connection and it will print. Most of the time I get an error message saying Printer is offline. What must I do to get it online? (Getting frustrated with this blasted machine. It's offline most of the time, so it's pretty useless. It'd make a good anchor for a boat!) question 4: It's hard to see whatever appears in the small info window. Is there a way to get it to use backlight?

Hello. I have an HP Desk Jet Plus 4158. I am wanting to better understand the buttons on the "dashboard". Going from the left, there is the red X, then next to that is a circle with a rectangle on the inside with a down arrow. I thought that it would initiate a copy function but nothing happens when I push that button. To the right of that is an circle with an "i" in it. Not sure what that does. Thank you ahead of time for your response.
I'm having a problem with my 4152 when printing Avery labels. It's very slow and too dark. I can't figure out where to fix this issue. Do you know how?

My friend bought the hp 4155 from staples. As soon as I hooked it up for him I noticed the printing wasn't printing all the letters. Some were missing and some were missing the top part of the writing. He didn't seem to mind it. Well he went to use it about a month ago and his wifi wasn't connected to the printer. Yesterday I went there to see if I could get it working and on his laptop it said the printer wasn't connected to wifi. I tried to get it to connect but it wasn't connecting. I also noticed when I printed a test page about 5 times the pages eventually became blank. He has used this printer 3 times in 6 months and it shouldn't be out of ink. So now I'm trying to figure out what he should do with this printer. Maybe you could be of assistance.
See my comments about sporadic internet connection. We solved the problem by (1) hard wiring my laptop to the printer and (2) if problems persist, rebooting the computer. Sometimes unplugging the printer-cable from computer or printer and then reconnecting them helps. These steps should work for all HP Printers in the 4100 series. Supposedly HO said to buy ink elsewhere rather than depend on Instant Ink because each time you lose WiFi, their system assigns you a new randomly selected IP address. But we found for my 4155 that it will still print even when WiFi is down provided we unplugged and replugged &/or rebooted.
I have a HP desktop and in my opinion their crap. I’ve had my printer for about six months, and now it is doing nothing about printing blank pages. I have a USB cable to my computer and I have been working fine, I have plenty of ink what is just decided to quit printing. I just barely get a little smidge of yellow in the middle of a page no matter what I try to print. I will never buy a HP printer again they are junk. Now I have to go and spend money and try to find something better than HP crap.
I have the 4152 and everything but when I connect to the wifi it gives me a message on the app that says “it’s taking much longer to connect than expected” and it won’t connect. Has this happened to anyone else?
Thanks for your video, however at age 85 my retention faculties are slower than yours. I am expecting my first HP 4155 in 2 to 3 days. I particularly purchased this model because I was told it could fax by using a hardwire telephone line. You were a bit too fast in the set up and lack the full didactic. Is there another link where I can see a step by step video? Thanks.
you print the odd numbered pages first, then put those back into the paper feed tray and print jut the even numbered pages. Clunky, but doable, but suggest you try a smaller test doc first as it's likely to print 2nd side onto the odd numbered pp unless you are extremely careful.
I really hate this printer. I have bought babysitters but this one is the worst. Most of the time I cannot get it to print. There are always errors. I have deleted and reapplied drivers still have errors.
I had the same problems many of you expressed (not recognizing PIN or password, constant "Printer offline" error messages, etc.). When I had HP Tech Support on phone, it would print, provided my internet connection was strong, but the next day I got error messages again. Solution: If you live in the boonies, with a sporadic internet connection, here's a warning if you're considering a wireless printer: you're wasting your money. I've spent weeks calling HP tech support only to learn the wireless features work only while your signal is strong. Once you lose that connection, the router no longer recognizes your printer, your passwords, your ink level (if you're subscribing to Instant Ink). Without knowing your ink levels, Tech Support said it will not print. When you lose internet, the printer randomly assigns you a new IP address. So all the tech support and tutorial time spent in finding ways to restore my HP 4155 to online status wasn't productive-- until HP tech support told us to use a printer cable and connect laptop to the printer. So with my laptop connected, no one else can use the printer. If other family members need to print, we must disconnect mine and connect theirs. Workaround? Any document that's important, email it to yourself as an attachment. This allows you to print at a library or the office of your financial advisor or attorney.
