I got a used Elitebook G6 last year and it's still working great as new. Also happens to be easy to clean and durable with a good keyboard. I highly recommend them
There is a lens cover in this Elitebook integrated on the upper side of the bezel. In fact, you show it at the moment while you say there is none :). Otherwise great review, would like some look at the internals, thanks!
Just picked up a used Elitebook 850 G6 and was looking for a review, I guess this is close enough, the one I found has the 15.6 inch screen, great for my 73 year old eyes, got her for 180 bucks with the hard drive wiped so I installed Win 11 using vintoy, (thanks son for telling me of this great tool!) Took about 20 min to download the ISO from Microsoft and another 5 to install on the lightning fast SSD in this unit. I am thrilled with the machine got her for 180 bucks from State Surplus in ND. My old 2012 macbook pro was failing so I needed to replace her, my daughter who is now living in my house to keep it clean and cook for dear old dad after my wife of 51 years and 4 days passed 4 years ago (God how I miss that wonderful lady damn cancer!) Thanks for the review, it pretty much describes this earlier version of the machine as well as the new version.
I work in an IT department that order thousands of these. Good laptop, but I've imaged and serviced so many The biggest issues are "mass manufacturing" issues. Key board keys falling off, touchpads not working. Not alot but more than you'd think for a laptop at that price point.
Looks like they dropped the wired RJ-45 ethernet port in generation G7 and above. Surprising move for a corporate laptop. As a network engineer, I'm 'old-school' in that regard and won't consider a laptop without one. I hate carrying a USB ethernet dongle around.
Your review made me laugh so hard. Dingy pub, drunken giraffe, pointer nipples, your choice of words for describing things is impeccable. Hope to snag one of these babies in 2021 👍
My USBC port won't charge the device, and won't send data (like connecting my dual screen) Any suggestions? I searched it here on youtube, and how I came across your video.
Fan noise ? Should have talked about it, HP laptops are pretty loud when that intel turbo boost kicks in. Had to disable it on mine, the noise was too much.
I'm a student in biomed engineering master and i bought Hp EliteBook 840 G7 Notebook Pc core i5 vPRO and for my studies i need to download matlab 3d slicer paket tricer python thony and maybe more app but i don't know if that laptop will do or should i changed with another one
I dropped it on the corner. The casing cracked but the OLED didn’t 😂 luckily elitebooks always have HP Premium warranty. They pick it up, repair it, and send it back.
Will it be as good as my M1 Max 16” Macbook Pro 10-CPU 24-GPU 16-CPU with Neutral Engine with 1TB SSD and 32GB Unified Memory ? I ask as I am in the market for a Windows laptop as well as my Mac..and I’m trying to find a good middle ground and there are so many makes out there…thanks for your time
I know this is a year later, but programming laptops don't need anywhere close to the horsepower you'd need for something like content creation. And if you are working with big data, you would never process it on your own laptop anyway (likely be using something like Azure or GCP). So all you need for a good programming laptop are a good screen, good battery life, and decent performance. Also, keyboard and trackpad are crucial for those long hours of working.
I'm pretty sure the pavilion series is on the slightly lower end of HP's laptops. The envy, spectre and elitebook are all better, but imo only the elitebooks are worth looking at.
The Elitebook x360 1040 g7 (32mb/Ram) is a really nice and sleek laptop but Im concerned the limited gpu wont be able to handle VR or am i wrong? I'm interested in hooking it up with the Oculus Quest 2 via Quest Link...has anybody tried? Thanks for a great video!
@TheGoat I'll give you that, the G7 is more affordable now that the G8 is out so in a sense it's worth it. I'm currently on the G6 though and plan on upgrading to the new one.
@@Whiteleon13 the G7 and G8 has an upgraded sound system over the G6. Longer battery and better performance. G8 has stronger integrated GPU performance is that matters to you. i prefer the cooling system on the G7 over the G8 personally, i go with HP because of their warranty, stability, security and laptops.
I was so mad that I had to repair it because I've been punching this laptop, because my this laptop was so laggy that I tried to upgrade it so i can play games perfect but I didn't know that this was a for work laptop because I only played games on this like Minecraft, league,Roblox and more (I'm poor and this was a gift from my relatives that are on America)
Please know the difference between bit and byte. I think you meant 2.5GB not 2.5 Gb. If you already did the speedtest of the SSD, why aren't you telling us the write speed? But disappointed that you haven't managed to tell us at least on negative point of this laptop. This review is for the people who are to lazy to read the specs sheet.
Overly positive sponsored AD. Meh. Disappointing vid. This style of video has little actual value in my opinion. One needs a balanced review - not an AD.
