OMG! This looks to be the fault in my laptop. When moved or shaken, screen would show the same distortion. It was really a dodgy issue. Thank You!

Had the same problem with a HP 15s-DU1016TU. Fortunately it had two Ram slots and simply changing the Ram to the second slot solved the problem. I would have never thought that the Ram slot could have been faulty as it's a static thing and does not move. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. Your videos are very informative.

Had the same problem on a Lenovo ideapad. But it was just one pin that was problematic. It also had an onboard RAM which worked without issues lol

THANKS!!! same problem with my sister laptop. i just buy new RAM but nothing untilled i found this video and check it on myself. also the broken was the 2 rights and i fix it with moving them to their hole. but its not good solution because every shake the laptop relapse to3 long, 2 short caps lock led blinks. so i need to check what to do. thanks! my sister also sent it to computer laboratory and the fail to found the issue.

I had the exact same alarm on an HP pavillion 14. It was infact the bios. 3 short and 2 long. I did a reflash of the bios through recovery and everything was fine again. nothing to do with memory or the physical motherboard.

Thanks for digging Deep. I have a hp aero 13.3 laptop on ruzen 5. The caps lock started to blink 3 long and 5 short blips. The error code says cpu not recognized. I cant believe the cpu is shorted. From your video sometimes the error is not where the error indicates. Request you to shed some light on where to check. Thanks !

check the EC chip area. If there's liquid damage on the EC chip area, it will give that error as well.

I had not the exact but similar issue Whenever i boot into system the screen started tearing and this happenes when the mcb tripped due to overload of some kind. Troubleshooted and finally opened the pc found there was small short between two pins on ram(a small black spot visible) cleaned using IPA worked smooth as a butter

weird for HP laptop, they usually came with 2 ram slots, and some only 1 ram slot like this one if the laptop have 2 slot ram, at least customer can use the other ram slot

I also faced the same problem , but while doing this I have shorted the last right side of two pins(ground and data pin ) of the ram slot( 7:43) , now I am unable to fix this issue , now my laptop is not turning on

AdamandIt had this same problem. He actual reflowed the ram sockets which fixed it.
