Great video! I have a z400 motherboard in an old CoolerMaster Centurion case! I added 24gb of ecc ddr3 and a GTX 1070 :) Keep up the good work.

Use to own this case! Nice to see Someone do a build with it but not only that but do some basic mods to it! I love your videos cause you turn what was once something basic or broken into a decent budget pc! Don’t always need to spend a lot or have the newest to have fun!

I'm loving your channel with each watched episode. Can you please show the actual cleaning and tidying up of at least some of your budget builds. Do you use a specific detergent, do you vacuum or air blow all that cruddy dust etc? I know it's an extra trip through the tedium of editing, but I do like your "trash to treasure" builds😎.

The HP motherboard has no overclocking support but Xeons with unlocked multipliers can still be overclocked with XTU or Throttlestop. The 4-dimm version of the motherboard can run a W3580(unlocked) and the 6-dimm version can run a W3690(unlocked). Aftermarket coolers can be fit by cutting off the cooler standoffs on the MB tray.

Another heck of a spiffy build! Would be great if you mod a panel that will cover all the front bay covers instead of using the case's 5 covers for a cleaner finish instead of having gaps for the bays!

Just got one of these with a x5670, you remember if there’s a way to change the bios to work with my cpu? Without buying a whole other cpu and driving the cost of the build up for no reason? Been working at this for weeks lol the seller sent me a board with bent pins at first

Nice mods - tech. LOL! This has GOT to be the first time I've _ever_ seen a case fan mounted like what you just did - good job! I honestly believe you could take an empty vanilla wafers' box then turn it into a mini-itx build along with water-cooling and it would even come out tasting like banana pudding?? this looks badass man! very good work, keep it up! PS. I recommend 16GB RAM for this build (go for ECC memory, it's pretty cheap and does the work very well), and for no bottleneck change your GPU to GTX 1060 ;)

If you put a xeon w3680 or 3690 that have unlocked core multipliers you could have overclocked with intel xtu or throttlestop to get close to 4ghz

You can get dell 5500 motherboards for the same price. Then you can spend another $45 and get a cpu riser to have 12 cores and 24 threads

You notice how the power supply is proprietary to the motherboard? I couldn't get mine to post without using the PSU it shipped with. :(

I mentioned that. They do make a adapter cable for it but for $16 the original worked just fine.

Sorry.. I must've missed it. I knew they made a PSU adapter cable for the newer Dell Optiplex to get around the lack of a 24pin but I had no idea they made one for these old HPs. Thanks for the heads up - dig the videos man.

Been eyeying this board to mod into a modern case for awhile but wasn't sure about a few things. I know the psu needs an adapter or oem, but are the front panels functional? and if u don't have the original fan is it gonna throw f1 every boot...🤔

There is a pinout diagram on Google for power reset and such so no problems there. The cpu fan plug is proprietary I'm sure it's easy to rewire the other fans just shave down the plastic on connector. I will have to get back to on the f1 errors I thought it booted straight through last time. I had to get it off my desk tho.

How in the he'll can u get these shitty ass pc's to play these games and I'm having a he'll a time with my rig. I'm almost 1500 into mine. I got rid of windows 10 bc my board only supports drivers for windows 7and I put windows 7 on there again. Windows 10 played my games flawless but now windows 7 crashes sometimes and won't even play doom. Everything played the right way on windows 10 though which doesn't make any damn since seems how just about every game out there supports windows 7 still and a lot choose windows 7 for their rigs
